Tommy Ramone dies aged 62

Tommy Ramone has died aged 62.
The drummer - who was the last surviving original member of iconic punk band The Ramones - was undergoing treatment for bile duct cancer at a hospice when he passed away at his home in the Ridgewood area of Queens, New York yesterday (11.07.14).
The group's official Facebook and Twitter accounts revealed the sad news and paid tribute to the late rocker - whose real name was Tommy Erdelyi.
Their statement said: "We are saddened to announce the passing of Ramones founding drummer Tommy (Erdelyi) Ramone. #RIPTommyRamone"
Tommy founded the 'Blitzkrieg Bop' band in 1974, having originally been their manager before being asked to play drums.
Four years later - having co-produced their first three albums 'Ramones', 'Leave Home' and 'Rocket to Russia' - he left the line-up, instead focusing on management and production.
He co-produced their fourth record - 'Road to Ruin' - before reprising that role again on their eighth LP 'Too Tough to Die' in 1984.
Fans and fellow stars have started to pay tribute to the influential musician, including former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way.
He tweeted: "R.I.P. Tommy Ramone"

Keira Knightley felt ‘powerless’ in Sudan

Keira Knightley felt "powerless" when she visited South Sudan.
The 29-year-old actress recently visited the war-torn country in North Eastern Africa with Oxfam and couldn't believe the devastation and fear she witnessed firsthand.
She said: "I try to keep abreast of current affairs and what's going on around the world, and you think you get used to images of conflict and poverty.
"But standing in the middle of a refugee camp, with thousands of people crushed into an area you could walk around in 20 minutes, where there's raw sewage everywhere and where the latrines have collapsed because the rainy season has hit, it really makes you go, 'F**k, this is horrendous'. The fear in the air is palpable, but you feel powerless."
Keira's visit has shocked her so much that she is determined to help the relief effort in any way she can.
She explained to Stylist magazine: "It made me realise how fortunate I am to live where I do and to have had the life that I've had, but also that, emotionally, we are essentially all the same ... Being in this terrible situation yet still making the best of what you've got takes incredible strength."

Victoria and David Beckham mock one another

Victoria and David Beckham love to "poke fun" at one another.
While the fashion designer - who has children Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 11, Cruz, nine, and Harper, three, with the former soccer star - takes herself seriously when she is working, she and her husband love nothing more than to make each other laugh.
She said: "David and I tease each other a lot. Yes, you have to take yourself seriously professionally, but we also poke fun at each other."
Victoria credits her husband for giving her the "security and encouragement" she has needed to progress in her career.
She said: "I wouldn't be where I am without David. He gives me the security and encouragement to do what I do. I do the same for him."
Victoria turned 40 in April but wasn't upset about reaching the milestone age as she has achieved so much.
She told Britain's Vogue magazine: "I looked at it and said to myself, 'I have four incredible children, an incredible husband, a business that's doing very, very well.' I've worked hard and achieved a lot. I don't think I could have achieved much more."
Looking back on her teenage years, the only thing the former Spice Girls star would change is her lack of confidence.
She said: "I've always worked hard and had a lot of fun so there's nothing I would change. But I was very self-conscious... My weight was always up and down and my skin was always a problem."

Alexander Skarsgard likes to disconnect

Alexander Skarsgard loves to "disconnect" from society.
The 'True Blood' actor jumped at the chance to join a charity trek to the South Pole last year - alongside Britain's Prince Harry and a number of injured service men and women - because he finds isolating trips "liberating".
He explained: "I've been fascinated by Antarctica since I was a kid, and when this opportunity came up, I desperately wanted it to work out.
"I was shooting a movie called 'The Giver' in South Africa and fortunately I was able to rap in time.
"I went straight to Antarctica for a month. I love just being disconnected like that.
"The year before, I sailed across the Atlantic. It took three weeks and was kind of a similar experience in the sense of being completely present in the moment. You don't have your cell phone, no email. It's very liberating in a way, and a good excuse to not be reachable for a month."
The trek was originally meant to be a race between three teams, but they merged because the punishing conditions meant just getting to the finish became the ultimate goal and Alexander thinks it was the "right call".
He told Britain's Glamour magazine: "If you pass out and it's -40 degrees, you can get frostbite in seconds.
"It was definitely the right call because some people did get frostbite and had issues with the elevation.
"The race aspect of it wasn't important, it was more for motivation and to make it more fun, but the whole point was to make a documentary about these amazing men and women and for them to tell their stories and to inspire other people.
"The most important thing was to get all 12 soldiers to the South Pole and we did that."

Ricky Rayment planning to propose to Jessica Wright

Ricky Rayment is planning to propose to Jessica Wright.
The 'TOWIE' star - who has been in a relationship with his fellow cast-member for over two years - hinted that he is keen to ask the 27-year-old beauty to marry him, although he refused to reveal when he is going to pop the question.
Asked when he was going to propose to the stunning brunette, he told Star magazine: "That has to be a secret. It could be sooner, it could be later ... I can't tell you!"
Ricky added that he is feeling pressure from the hit ITV2 reality series to get engaged but doesn't want to rush popping the question after watching many of his co-stars relationships fall under the 'TOWIE' curse.
He said: "It's the TOWIE curse. There have been so many relationships that haven't made it because everyone has rushed things.
"People were getting engaged after a year, or moving in together after six months... We've done it at our own pace, the way we want to, and we're still together."
Meanwhile, Ricky is looking forward to attending the wedding of Jessica's brother Mark Wright and his fiancée, former 'Coronation Street' actress Michelle Keegan.
He said: "They're such a great couple. I really get on with Mark - he's like an older brother - and Michelle's a really down-to-earth girl. I'm happy for them to be settling down and hopefully starting a family."

Kim Kardashian confirms she is buying NYC home

Kim Kardashian has fuelled rumours she is moving to New York City.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, who was recently spotted viewing a $21 million apartment in SoHo, confirmed she and husband Kanye West are on the hunt for a new base there shortly after it was revealed they plan to sell their $11 million Bel Air home "very soon" as they are fed up of waiting for renovations to be complete.
The 33-year-old beauty wrote on her blog: "I went apartment hunting in NYC with Simon [Huck] and my mom...Kendall [Jenner] came too."
She added: "It's crazy to see the different between Los Angeles real estate and NYC real-estate."
The group were spotted checking out a lavish apartment in the city last week that was recently put on the market by Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.
The couple's real estate agent Fredrik Eklund also confirmed he is helping the couple find their dream home in the city.
He wrote on Instagram: "Ok so we give up. Totally give up. We tried to keep it a secret for the longest time that we were working with @kimkardashian and Kanye but it was impossible as there were like one hundred photographers outside each of our listings and now the photos are everywhere."
A source previously revealed the couple, who have 12-month-old daughter North West, are scrambling to complete work on their Los Angeles home before putting it on the market because working on the house has become "too overwhelming."
The insider added: "They are such perfectionists that staying up-to-date with the latest appliances and home systems, etc., has been exhausting for them. They want to sell very soon, but they might just finish the house enough to get it on the market without trying to make it their perfect home."

Noah Wyle sent flowers to a stranger

Noah Wyle sent flowers to a stranger who found his driver's licence.
The 'Falling Skies' star, who married Sara Wells last month, was very touched when a woman tracked down his representatives and sent his licence back to him after she found it on the street in New York City.
The 43-year-old actor told PEOPLE magazine: "Seven days ago in New York City I lost my driver's licence on the street. Somebody found it, went on the Internet and tracked down my management company. In four hours I had it. How crazy is that?"
He added: "I sent the woman flowers and a thank-you note."
The former 'E.R.' star recently returned from his honeymoon in Paris after marrying actress Sara, whom he started dating in 2011, in a secret ceremony at their ranch in Santa Barbara, California.
And he said: "I just got married on June 7, so my wife and I went to Paris on our honeymoon, which was our first vacation together as a married couple. It was very romantic."
Noah was previously married to makeup artist Tracy Warbin, with whom he has son, Owen, 11, and daughter, Auden, eight, for nine years until October 2009.

Michelle Rodriguez is good for Zac Efron

Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez have a "healthy influence on each other."
The 'That Awkward Moment' star's close pal Gianluca Vacchi, who has been holidaying with the new couple in Sardinia, has defended their relationship amid speculation the actor's friends are concerned about him spending time with 'The Fast and the Furious' star, as they have both been in rehab in the past.
Gianluca wrote on Instagram: "Don't be concerned, Z and Mich have a mutual healthy influence each other and they are very cute toghether (sic)."
Zac, 26, and Michelle, 36, were spotted kissing on a yacht last Sunday (06.07.14) and also couldn't keep their hands of each other in an Italian nightclub.
News of the couple's romance comes just weeks after it was revealed that the 'Bad Neighbours' star - who dated Vanessa Hudgens and Lily Collins in the past - was ready to start dating again.
A source previously said: "Zac wants to date someone who's not intimidated by fame and who can challenge him intellectually."
The hunky star appears to be getting his life back on track after checking into treatment facilities twice last year to allegedly seek help for substance abuse and alcoholism.
Michelle, who was most recently linked to British model Cara Delevingne, was sentenced to 30 days in rehab in 2006 after pleading guilty to Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

Selena Gomez is ‘trying to move on’

Selena Gomez "is trying to move on" after splitting from Justin Bieber.
The on-again, off-again couple, who first started dating in 2010, broke up again last week, but the 'Come & Get It' hitmaker still considers him a friend.
A source close to the 21-year-old star told E! News: "There will forever be an emotional connection for them, but they don't have a title to their relationship. He is not her boyfriend, but the feelings are always going to be there."
The insider insists that Selena "is happy" and is having a great time with friends in New York City, adding: "[She] is trying to move on with her life and focus on her."
But the duo may be trying to make each other jealous by posting pictures of themselves with other guys and girls on their Instagram profiles.
The source said: "They are kids. Of course they might try to do that."
Justin has posted several photos of himself on dates with model Yovanna Ventura this week, while Selena shared an image of herself cosying up to her pal Tanz Watson.
The former couple reportedly split because Justin, 20, didn't invite the 'Spring Breakers' actress to be his date to his manager Scooter Braun's wedding in Canada last weekend.

Drake’s relationship status ‘hasn’t changed’

Drake claims his relationship status "hasn't changed."
The 27-year-old singer, who was rumoured to have split from his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna in May, has hinted that they are still casually dating.
Asked if he's been inspired to write new music now that he's "a bachelor again," the 'Hold On, We're Going Home' hitmaker said: "Well, um, actually, my status hasn't changed, just to clear that up, you know, I've always just been out here coasting."
The Canadian star was photographed in a recording studio with his rival Chris Brown this week, but according to E! News he told reporters during a media conference call for the 22nd annual ESPYS, which he will host on Wednesday (16.08.14), that he would "rather not comment" on what they were doing.
It was previously claimed that Drake blamed Chris, 25, for his split from the 'Stay' singer, 26, and thought she pushed him away because her ex-boyfriend, who beat her up in 2009, made her very insecure.
A source said: "She gave him his marching orders and he's destroyed.
"Drake is convinced that Rihanna has self-esteem issues and is pushing him away because she doesn't believe in or trust true love, which isn't surprising after the crazy stuff that happened with her and Chris."

Jale Karaturp evicted from ‘Big Brother’

Jale Karaturp was evicted from 'Big Brother' tonight (11.07.14).
The psychic - who was nominated for eviction for the past four weeks - became the fifth housemate to leave the Channel 5 series after going head-to-head against 18-year-old Ashleigh Coyle in the public vote.
The 33-year-old customer service advisor from Surrey, England received a mixed reaction from the crowd upon leaving the house, but told host Emma Willis: "It wasn't too bad."
She added: "I feel a bit numb, it's surreal."
Jale wasn't surprised that her fellow contestants wanted her out of the house because she said she had become unfocused and a bit grumpy.
She also admitted she found her time on the reality TV show challenging, but she was determined not to give up and ended up having "a brilliant time" inside.
Emma revealed earlier in the evening that Christopher Hall and Chris Wright had both been saved from eviction.
Tonight's episode also featured the "most graphic scenes 'Big Brother' has ever shown" when entrepreneur Steven Goode allegedly had full sexual intercourse with Playboy model Kimberly Kisselovich as the cameras rolled.
Jale looked visibly shocked when Emma asked her if she knew the duo were having "happy times" under the covers.
The sixth eviction will take place on Monday (14.07.14).

Kristin Cavallari’s sons have ‘cute’ bond

Kristin Cavallari says her children already have a "really cute" bond.
The former 'The Hills' star, who has 23-month-old son Camden and two-month-old son Jaxon with husband Jay Cutler, is glad they get along really well.
She said: "Cam is really cute with Jax. He gives him kisses and holds his hand."
The shoe designer's eldest son recently started talking and she loves watching her boys change.
She said: "We just potty-trained Camden which we're really excited about! He's also starting to talk, which is hilarious and a ton of fun. Jax is getting close to holding his head up on his own."
The 27-year-old star has lost 20 pounds since giving birth to Jaxon in May.
She told E! News: "I started working out when Jax was three weeks old. I've been working out four to five times a week for 30 to 45 minutes at home, doing tons of leg work like squats, lunges and lifting weights."
She added: "I'm still a couple of pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but it took a solid three months with Camden and I think it will be the same this time. "
The petite star insists she hasn't embarked on a special diet to help her slim down.
She said: "No, my diet is always the same. I don't eat any toxic chemicals and I try to eat organic as often as possible."
