The Face axed by Sky Living

'The Face' has been axed by Sky Living after one series.
Naomi Campbell's modelling competition will not return for a second run due to poor ratings and a high budget.
'The Face', which also stars supermodels Erin O'Connor and Caroline Winberg, launched to a lowly 132,000 viewers last September and Sky bosses aren't willing to fund another series of the expensive reality show.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Sky Living is spending the money on new dramas and comedies instead."
Naomi, 44, had high hopes her show - which features three models mentoring teams of aspiring wannabes - would be a huge hit and Sky Living expressed initial faith in the show by axing its other modelling competition, 'Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model', after nine series in favour of the fresh format.
The source added: "This is a massive blow for Naomi because 'The Face' has been her 100 per cent focus.
"She genuinely believed it would become a format that would stick around in the same way 'Next Top Model' and 'The X Factor' have. Dropping the show after just one series is humiliating for her."
Naomi can take some solace in the fact 'The Face' is still on air in America and Australia.

Carol Vorderman quits Loose Women

Carol Vorderman has quit 'Loose Women'.
The 53-year-old presenter - who shares anchor duties with Andrea McLean, Ruth Langsford and Kaye Adams - has decided to leave the ITV daytime talk show after three years to concentrate on other TV projects and fly around the world for charity.
The budding pilot admits she has struggled to commit to the show in the last year because she's in deep training for her flight around the world and handed in her notice to ITV bosses last week after much deliberation.
Carol explained: "I am getting into the hard work for my planning and training to go round the world next year.
"In the first two years on 'Loose', I did over 100 days a year, but in the last year I have only managed just over 20 days because I kept having to cancel days due to other work commitments.
"I tried appearing just once a week up until Christmas and I just couldn't do it.
"I write a lot of educational books and have a big maths website so my time is spent with those too.
"I like to do things properly and it's unfair to commit to something half-heartedly so I said to myself, 'It's make you mind up time, Vorderman' and made my decision."
The former 'Countdown' maths wizard insists she will be back on TV screens soon with some "interesting" new projects, but says she will miss the buzz of doing live TV and her 'Loose Women' co-hosts.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'll miss working with Jane Moore, Coleen Nolan and Nadia Sawalha and the others."

Jennie McAlpine: Corrie hasn’t prepared me for baby

Jennie McAlpine says 'Coronation Street' hasn't prepared her for motherhood.
The pregnant actress - whose character Fiz Stape is mother to baby Hope and stepmother to little Ruby on the soap - admits playing a mum on the show isn't sufficient preparation for becoming one in real life.
She explained: "I love them, they are adorable. We have twins who play baby Hope and there is one baby Ruby.
"I know people say it is practice, but I'm literally grabbing them for 10 minutes and then handing them back to their mum. I know I won't be doing that in a few months, in real life I will have to keep hold of this one."
Jennie also revealed she's been lucky enough to miss out on morning sickness so far.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I feel good. I feel glowing. I'm waiting for the opposite to happen. But because I'm still working I haven't had time to worry about that just yet."
The 30-year-old star - who is expecting her first child with partner Chris Farr - says producers have been very accommodating by allowing her to hide her growing baby bump with various props while filming.
She said: "I work behind a sewing machine or I'm always propping the bar up - so there are lots of things I can hide behind to cover up the baby bump."

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford’s happy marriage

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford say professional chemistry is key to off-screen happiness.
The couple, who are to assume full-time hosting duties on 'This Morning' today (14.07.14) while Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take their annual summer leave, claim that working together throughout the summer is healthy for their marriage, which appears to be as strong and happy as ever.
Ruth, 54, gushed to The Sun newspaper: "People say, 'How do you put up with each other every day?' But, actually, I quite like seeing him!
"It's nice to spend that time together because we don't spend a lot of time together, which is probably why we're still married."
Ruth further revealed that despite being married to Eamonn, 54, for four years her attraction to him has not waned at all.
In fact, the presenter recently caught herself admiring a man from a distance in a hotel bar - only to realise that it was her husband.
She explained: "I walked into a room recently and this man was sitting there with his sunglasses on and I thought, 'Oh he's hot!' and it was Eamonn reading his paper.
"For a second I hadn't realised it was my husband."

Stacy Keibler’s easy pregnancy

Stacy Keibler feels "blessed" to have had an easy pregnancy.
The 34-year-old beauty and husband Jared Pobre are due to welcome their first child, a girl, into the world next month and the former wrestler thinks her healthy lifestyle has really helped her over the last few months.
She said: "I'm so grateful and so blessed, but I truly believe that it is a testament to having a healthy lifestyle.
"I'm very mindful of everything that I put into my body and that I put on my skin. I stay active every single day and I've done that since the beginning [so] I just feel like energetically it's been really easy."
The couple have already chosen a name for their baby - which they haven't revealed to anyone - and say it was "easy peasy" narrowing down their shortlist.
Stacy told People magazine: "We just talked about one name and that was it -- easy peasy.
"Everything with us has been easy and effortless, including the name."
And the little girl is likely to be well read thanks to the special gifts Stacy requested at her recent baby shower.
She explained: "Actually, at my baby shower I asked everybody to bring their favourite children's book.
"It's great because the nursery is filled with all of my friends and family's favourite children's books. So she's covered."

Chrissy Teigen mistaken for escort

Chrissy Teigen was once mistaken for a "high class hooker".
The 28-year-old beauty was mortified when a hotel sold a story about her now-husband John Legend checking in with a prostitute behind her back - when the couple had actually gone away for a romantic break together.
She told Dujour magazine: "A hotel in Los Angeles sold a story that John was at a hotel with what appeared to be a high class hooker.. definitely wasn't me...and it was me! It was horrible."
However, Chrissy can now see the funny side and added: "High class though, it was high class."
Meanwhile, the Sports Illustrated model also blasted high street chain Forever 21 for firing her from a photoshoot because they thought she was "too fat".
She said: "I showed up on set and they asked me if they could take a photo.
"And they shoot that photo off to my agency, who then calls me as I'm sitting in the make-up chair, and they say, 'You need to leave right now. They just said that you are fat and you need to get your measurements taken.'
"And I hate you, Forever 21. I hate you so much. Honestly, you're the worst."
Chrissy has previously blasted Forever 21 for firing her, tweeting in 2012: "So next time you pass a Forever 21, remember the fact that they are a bunch of a******* who fired me mid-makeup for being fat.(sic)"

Christopher Walken to play Captain Hook

Christopher Walken will play Captain Hook in 'Peter Pan Live!'.
The 71-year-old actor is delighted to have signed up to play the infamous pirate in NBC's forthcoming musical special and is looking forward to donning his "tap shoes" for the production, which will see him reunite with his 'Hairspray' producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
He said in a statement: "I started my career in musicals and it's wonderful after all this time, at this point in my career, to be in this classic musical I watched as a child and to work with Neil Meron and Craig Zadan again after 'Hairspray.' It's a chance to put on my tap shoes again."
NBC are equally thrilled to have the 'Jersey Boys' actor on board for the production, which they will air on December 4.
NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said: "We are absolutely delighted that Christopher Walken will be putting his unique stamp on Captain Hook for our holiday musical event 'Peter Pan Live!'.
"He's not only one of the most versatile actors in our business, but his love of musicals and uncanny abilities as a dancer make him perfect for stepping into this classic James M. Barrie character. Get ready to be charmed, amused, frightened and dazzled by Captain Hook in an entirely original way."

Dolly Parton Glastonbury dog reunited with owner

Dolly Parton is disappointed she won't get to adopt a dog found at Glastonbury.
The '9 to 5' hitmaker had offered to care for a pooch found at the festival site - where she performed to a crowd of 150,000 last month - and while she is pleased the canine, which workers named after her, has been reunited with its original owners by the Happy Landings Animal Shelter, she admits she had been "looking forward" to having a new pet.
She said: "We got a call from the main people with the government and they told us that the true owners did come forward.
"There was a language barrier; I think they were from another country. They got the dog back so I don't get to take her home. I was looking forward to it."
The dog was found two days after the festival ended by workers cleaning up the site at Worthy Farm, Somerset, England, and when Dolly, 68, heard of its plight, she instantly offered to take her back to the US if her owner wasn't found.
She said: "I had my manager Danny Nozell call the Happy Landings Animal Shelter to make sure the dog is being treated and cared for properly.
"At this time, nobody has claimed the dog and the dog is in great hands at the shelter. I will take the dog home to America if nobody claims her within a reasonable amount of time."
And the 'Blue Smoke' singer admitted she was delighted workers had named the lurcher after her.
She added: "I was sad that someone left the little dog behind. How could that be? In them meantime everybody is on top of it and have promised they'll take care of that little dog. I feel honoured and flattered that they have called her Dolly."

Guillermo del Toro: Hellboy 3 ‘almost impossible’

Guillermo del Toro claims making 'Hellboy 3' would be "almost impossible".
The 49-year-old director has confessed that while he'd love to make a third instalment of the sci-fi action film series, it's not financially feasible.
He explained: "Creatively, I would love to make it. Creatively.
"But it is proven almost impossible to finance. Not from my side, but from the studio side. If I was a multimillionaire, I would finance it myself, but I spend all my money on rubber monsters."
The first two films tell the story of a demon (Hellboy) who is raised from infancy after being conjured and rescued from the Nazis and later becomes a defender against the forces of darkness.
And despite admitting he hasn't received studio backing for the project, del Toro claims he's already thought up a plot for the sequel, which would see Hellboy finally become the beast of the Apocalypse.
According to Variety, he said: "Well, you know, we don't have the movie on the horizon, but the idea for it was to have Hellboy finally come to terms with the fact his destiny, his inevitable destiny, is to become the beast of the Apocalypse...
"He has to become the beast of the Apocalypse to be able to defend humanity, but at the same time he becomes a much darker being. It's a very interesting ending to the series, but I don't think it will happen."
del Toro is currently working on the sequel to 'Pacific Rim' and on his upcoming thriller 'Crimson Peak'.

Jetta was ‘nervous’ working with Pharrell

Singer Jetta was "nervous but excited" before working with Pharrell Williams.
The Liverpudlian star was stunned when she received a call from the 'Happy' hitmaker last summer and he asked her to fly to Miami to work on new material.
She told BANG Showbiz: "It was amazing! I've always loved Pharrell, since back in the day when he came out with his first record and obviously he has worked with so many different amazing artists, producing their records, writing for them.
"He heard a bunch of my early demos last summer and asked me to fly out to Miami, so obviously I was straight on the plane.
"I think I was a healthy amount of nervous and excited, I often feel those two things together, but I think it's really important for me to feel that way, it kind of drives me to go and do stuff!"
The pair worked on the track 'Crescendo' which features on the Pepsi Max Beats of the Beautiful Game album, to celebrate the 2014 World Cup.
Jetta explained: "I spent two days with him in Miami, jamming, just talking about our musical journeys, what we've been up to, what inspires us, and the word 'Crescendo' came up and we were just like, 'Wait, that's a really cool word, let's go with that', and then I went back to work with him to finish the record in LA the following month."
Jetta explained the song is about something building up and the adrenaline rush which can be experienced in both music and sport.
Having just released her first EP, also titled 'Crescendo', Jetta is happy to be seeing progress in the industry and has big plans for the future.
She said: "Everyone that I meet is really inspiring, though my main idol when I was growing up was Annie Lennox ... I'd love to meet her.
"I've bumped into her a few times in west London as we live close to each other, but I'd really love to sit down with her and talk to her about music, and see where she gets her inspiration from."
Pepsi Max Beats of the Beautiful Game is out now.
