Robert Pattinson’s sister wows on X Factor

Robert Pattinson's sister has wowed the judges on 'The X Factor'.
Singer Lizzy Pattinson has already made it through the first round of auditions, which take place behind closed doors, and is expected to perform for Simon Cowell and co. once again this weekend at London's Wembley Arena.
A source said of her audition: "She blew them away with her husky, soulful vocals. She's different to usual 'X Factor' contestants - she really stands out. She could go all the way."
The 31-year-old singer has provided backing vocals on songs for various 'Twilight' soundtracks and even had a top 20 hit in the UK in 2003 with club song 'Let the Sunshine In'.
But Lizzy is said to be wary of being associated with her world famous sibling, Rob, 28, and is eager to succeed on her own merit on 'The X Factor'.
An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She didn't mention she was related to him to any judges or producers. It's important to her she does not fall into the trap of just becoming 'Rob's sister'."
It's thought Lizzy is a "shoo-in" to progress on the show after her first audition proved a hit with Simon, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Mel B.

Mark Wright clashes with Arg and Elliott at cousin’s wedding

Mark Wright had a "vicious" row with best friend James 'Arg' Argent and his cousin Elliott Wright at a family wedding.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star reportedly clashed with the the pair at his cousin Leah Wright's wedding in Alicante, Spain, earlier this month after the hunk and mum Carol demanded that his sister Jessica Wright had a go at singing on stage instead of Arg.
An insider said: "Other people at the wedding were shocked at how vicious things got and couldn't believe what they were seeing."
But fans of the ITV2 reality show hoping to see the argument on the programme will be left disappointed.
'TOWIE' bosses were not allowed to film Mark and his fiancée Michelle Keegan at the nuptials because he is no longer contracted to the show since departing in 2012 at the end of the third series.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: "But while Mark and Michelle were at the wedding the whole time, producers couldn't film them and had to act like they weren't there."
Viewers of the programme saw part of the row when Arg and Jess clashed on Sunday night's (27.07.14) show, but Mark and Michelle were nowhere to be seen.
The 27-year-old star was one of the original cast members on the programme when the show started in October 2010.
He has since gone on to star in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' and land TV shows including 'Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights' and 'Party Wright Around the World'.

Mary Berry wins burping competition

Mary Berry won a burping competition whilst filming 'The Great British Bake Off'.
The BBC cooking show has earned plenty of fans due to its wholesome content and family friendly bakes, but the show's stars are less than exemplary behind the scenes, it seems, as they often take part in belching contests.
Presenter Mel Giedroyc revealed how judge Mary, 79, beat her, co-host Sue Perkins and fellow judge Paul Hollywood in one gassy burp-off.
She joked to Woman magazine: "I thought I'd clinched it but then Bezza came out with a long, loud one, and pipped me to the post. She's brilliant."
The fifth series of the hugely popular baking programme is set to start on August 6, moving to BBC One after launching on BBC Two in 2010.
Twelve contestants will be fighting against soggy bottoms and overworked pastry in a bid to impress Mary and her fellow judge Paul Hollywood.
Comedienne Jo Brand also joins the 'Bake Off' family this year, presenting a new spin-off show, 'An Extra Slice', on BBC Two.
The show will air immediately after the main programme and will feature celebrity guests and an interview with that week's eliminated contestant.

Doug Potts returns to Emmerdale

Emmerdale's Doug Potts is to return.
Actor Duncan Preston is to reprise his role more than three years after he last appeared on the ITV soap as Doug returns to the Yorkshire Dales for the wedding of his daughter Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).
Viewers will be left wondering if Doug is really back to support his daughter - who is to marry Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) - or if he has an ulterior motive.
Duncan commented: "It is lovely to be back in Yorkshire as part of the 'Emmerdale' family. It feels like I have come home and I'm really excited about what is ahead for Doug".
Doug's return could also see him rekindle his romance with Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen), whom he tried to woo before leaving the Dales to reunite with his estranged wife in 2011.
Duncan made his first appearance on 'Emmerdale' in 2007 but took a break in 2010 to pursue theatre work. His temporary departure became a permanent one, however, as executive producer Steve November revealed a return for Doug wasn't definite.
The door was left open for Duncan to return in future and he is expected to be back as a regular character from September.

Lily Allen score axed from Bridget Jones musical

Plans to include a score by Lily Allen in the new 'Bridget Jones' musical have been scrapped.
The 29-year-old singer recently previewed one of the tracks from the soundtrack - 'Yummy', a love song dedicated to a fridge - but writer Helen Fielding is now re-writing the stage production and no longer requires the 'Not Fair' hitmaker's services.
Lily told The Sun newspaper: "I wrote some great music for it but Helen Fielding wants to go back and write a whole new story.
"It's been a long-term project and I was happy to do my bit but I'm now out of the picture."
The news comes as another blow for Lily, whose return to the pop scene has been beset by problems.
Her 'Sheezus' album debuted at number one in the UK charts, but quickly plummeted thereafter. Meanwhile, her most-recent single releases both failed to make the UK top 40.
Despite this, Lily is refusing to get too downbeat and says that she continues to attract exciting opportunities.
She explained: "I've had two companies come to me and say, 'Have you got ideas?'
"They want me to find a movie that I think I could adapt well and I do have some ideas that I think would work. So my work may make it to the West End yet."

Billy Bob Thornton has big boot collection

Billy Bob Thornton used to "treat" himself to new boots when he finished work on a movie.
The 'Fargo' actor has given up the ritual now, but admits his closet is bulging with over 50 pairs of footwear.
Discussing a pair of snake-adorned cowboy boots, he said: "I got these in New Mexico a long time ago. I don't anymore, but it used to be when I finished a movie or something, I would always treat myself to a pair of boots. That was always my thing."
Asked how many he owns, he said "1.2 million. No, 50."
Despite being nominated for an Emmy award for his role in 'Fargo', the actor won't be returning for a second season.
He told E! News: "It was such a thrill to do the show.
"I have nothing to complain about. Hopefully, another one that good will come along."
And the 58-year-old actor has an idea of what he'd like to do next, though his ideal role would be in now-defunct teen TV show 'Saved by the Bell'.
Asked what he would like to guest star on, he laughed: "'Saved by the Bell' is not on anymore, so I think I missed my chance.
"There's so much good stuff on TV. Maybe I can play what's his name? Hoder on 'Games of Thrones', the guy who only says, 'Hoder.' Maybe I could be his cousin or something, his long lost cousin."

Jennifer Lopez thinks Maksim is ‘hot’

Jennifer Lopez thinks Maksim Chmerkovskiy is "very hot".
The 'On the Floor' hitmaker - who has twins Max and Emme, six, with ex-husband Marc Anthony - has been romantically linked with the professional dancer since splitting from Casper Smart earlier this year, and though friends admit the pair have been on dates, they are taking things slow and put their friendship first.
A source told E! News: "She does not want to get her kids involved in meeting another guy yet.
"This is so new. There has been a date here and there, but really they are good friends before anything else. Maks asks her for advice and she thinks he is super-talented and very hot. Obviously that is hard to ignore."
While things may not be romantic between them yet, the 45-year-old beauty - who has been married three times - is said to be "open" to finding lasting love.
The source added: "They do text and communicate and she is open to dating in general right now.
"She still believes true love exists and wants to find that someday."
Meanwhile, Maksim has confirmed he is leaving 'Dancing with the Stars'.
Speaking on 'The View', he said: "I'm done dancing. I'm done with 'Dancing with the Stars.' I'm blessed. I'm very honoured. Inside, I'm genuinely honoured."
"I feel like I've done a lot and not enough for me. I looked at last season and I fell in love with the show ... I'm taking up a huge spot and I don't want to do that anymore."
Asked if he is leaving because Jennifer needed his services, he just smiled and laughed in response.

Daniel Radcliffe love What If calorific treats

Daniel Radcliffe loved gorging on calorific treats while filming 'What If'.
The 25-year-old actor enjoyed eating special Fool's Gold sandwiches, which are made up of a whole loaf of bread, a jar of jam, a jar of peanut butter, bacon rashers and loads of butter, while shooting the upcoming romantic/comedy movie.
He said: "If you can get a job where people will pay you to eat Fool's Gold sandwiches, take it."
The motion picture, which is based on a play by T.J. Dawe, sees Daniel play a broken-hearted man who enters into a complicated relationship with a young woman played by Zoe Kazan, who wasn't quite so keen on indulging in the calorific sandwiches.
Daniel explained: "Zoe hated it, but she grew up here and I grew up in England. In LA you're all very healthy here, but I am not. I am 70 per cent Fool's Gold. I enjoyed it a lot."
As well as being able to gorge on hefty sandwiches, Daniel also enjoyed the opportunity to portray a "normal guy" following his role as Ig Perrish, who has two horns on his head which give him special powers, in 'Horns' and as the titular wizard in the 'Harry Potter' film franchise.
Speaking at a Q&A after a screening of 'What If' as part of the Los Angeles Times' Indie Focus Screening Series, he added: "There was something very attractive about playing a normal guy, someone you might meet.
"And I think a lot of my own sense of humour was definitely allowed to come out in the film."
Daniel isn't the only celebrity known to be a fan of Fool's Gold sandwiches, as late music legend Elvis Presley once flew over to Denver to have some of the snacks delivered to his plane.

Guy Garvey working on solo album

Guy Garvey is working on his debut solo album.
The Elbow frontman will step away from the band to work on his own offering but warned that it could be a disaster.
He told Gigwise: [It will] "either be great, and a right laugh, or a disaster, and a right laugh".
However, it won't be an entirely solo endeavour as Guy - who will record at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios - will ask some of his famous friends to collaborate with him on the project.
He explained: "I don't like the term 'solo project', because ... I'll be inviting friends to play on it and will let the [project name] itself as it progresses."
While Guy says this is not the end for Elbow and even explained: "I'm already working on lyrics for the next Elbow record," he is excited about doing his own thing away from the band.
He added: "I love being in the honest and even-handed democracy that is Elbow, but I fancy being the boss for a bit, so I'm going to do a side-project."

Jessie J promises new sound on third album

Jessie J says her third album is completely different to anything she has ever done before.
The 26-year-old singer believes she has grown up a great deal since her first offering and cannot wait to unveil a new sound on her latest record.
She told Capital FM: "This is the album to make a change. I feel like this album is what it's about for me.
"I've learned a lot, I've had my ups and downs and I reckon the third album is the one where you have finally found your feet."
And she couldn't wait to tweet fans after her first listen to the new music.
Jessie wrote: "LISTENING TO ALBUM 3 RIGHT THE WAY THROUGH FOR THE FIRST TIME. I CANT WAIT FOR YOU ALL TO HEAR IT! Woooooo!"
This week, Jessie's eagerly anticipated new track 'Bang Bang' featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj debuted.
The song was written by Max Martin - who has been responsible for many Backstreet Boys hits - Savan Kotecha and Ilya.
Jessie took a break from music to star as a coach on BBC's 'The Voice' but has left the show to concentrate on her music career.

Doctor Who made Guardians of the Galaxy easy, says Karen Gillan

Karen Gillan says her 'Doctor Who' experience helped her when filming 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.
Gillan - who appeared on the popular BBC sci-fi show between 2010 and 2012 - was cast in the role of Nebula in the latest Marvel flick and said it was easy to make the transition.
She told the Radio Times magazine: "There are actually a lot of similarities because it's sci-fi. There's a lot of green screen and reacting to things that aren't there, so I feel like I was trained up for it.
"But the main difference is that everything is just bigger in scale. More set, more people... just a bigger budget."
The 26-year-old actress also revealed that 'Doctor Who' helped her to secure the lead role in 'Oculus', a physiological horror film directed by Mike Flanagan.
She said: "[Director Mike Flanagan] is a really big 'Doctor Who' fan and he Skyped with me when I was in my bedroom in Scotland in my parents' house.
"He was drinking out of a TARDIS mug - but he didn't realise he was drinking out of a TARDIS mug - and I was like, 'I've totally got this role!'"
'Guardians of the Galaxy' opens in UK cinemas on August 1.

Dave Bautista couldn’t get an agent

Dave Bautista couldn't get an agent when he decided to pursue acting.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star has revealed that despite a number of other professional wrestlers - including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Cena - making the move into acting before him, he still found it difficult to make people take him seriously.
Quizzed on whether Johnson's transition from wrestling to acting was helpful, Bautista said: "I don't think he paved the way for any wrestlers to move into film. It was hard for me. I couldn't get an agent. I think Dwayne is an exception."
The 45-year-old WWE star - who stars as Drax the Destroyer alongside Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star Lord in the sci-fi adventure - has confessed he thinks he will struggle to get diverse roles because casting directors will assume he's only suited to action.
He told the Metro newspaper: "It is hard getting auditions because people have slapped a label on me from WWE. It is kind of rough when you want to pursue more dramatic roles and not be an action star."
Bautista also revealed he'd never heard of Marvel Comics' 'Guardians of the Galaxy' universe before being offered an audition in the upcoming film, but insists once his acting coach, who is a "serious comic-book nerd" helped him out, he managed to get his around his character's funny lines.
He added: "The fact that Drax doesn't realise what he says is funny is what makes it funny. If you can get a hold of that, it becomes very easy."
