Kasabian want to produce Kanye West's next album.
The rock band's chief songwriter Serge Pizzorno, 33, is keen to team up with the 37-year-old rapper for his eighth studio album because he believes their talents combined would create some "insane" music.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I'd love to produce Kanye West, because the results would be insane. He's such a different talent to mine that I've no idea how our songs would sound, but you just know they'd be interesting.
"I've never been a traditional songwriter coming up with stuff on an acoustic guitar. How our music sounds is as important as the song itself, and if I ever get time I'd love to see what I could do with other musicians."
Meanwhile, the group - also consisting of Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews - believe their recent album '48:13' has proved they're capable of coming up with something new and shocking their fans.
Serge explained: "'48:13' has redefined Kasabian. What can people say against us now? It's idiocy to try to throw hackneyed old phrases like 'lad-rock' at us.
"Seeing '48:13; get to No 1 after releasing a polarising single like 'Ee-Zeh' proved we can experiment and leave people going: 'Wow!' We've proved we can go anywhere and try anything after this album, and that's what every musician dreams of.
"The most exciting thing about Kasabian at this moment is that none of us have a clue what we'll do next."
Maroon 5 are to perform at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The pop rock band will make their first ever appearance at the event on August 24 to perform a track from their forthcoming album 'V'.
Frontman Adam Levine said: "We are so excited about our upcoming new album and to be part of the great VMA lineup this year.
"It is our first time doing the show and we are thrilled to be on it performing our new single."
The group will join already-announced acts Ariana Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds Of Summer on the stage at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Beyoncé leads the nominations at this year's glamorous event with eight nods - including Video of the Year and Best Female - while Eminem and Iggy Azalea are right behind her with seven.
Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Jay Z, Pharrell Williams, Lorde, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, Sam Smith and Hayley Williams have also received multiple nominations.
Meanwhile, Maroon 5's performance comes three years after Adam took to his Twitter account to slam MTV for pretending to "care about music."
He tweeted at the time: "The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. F**k you, VMAs.
Britain's Duchess Catherine has been entered into Vanity Fair's Best Dressed Hall of Fame.
The 32-year-old royal - who has 12-month-old son Prince George with husband Prince William - along with designer Karl Lagerfeld and retail tycoon Stacey Bendet joined the publication's coveted list, which features those who have appeared on the magazine's International Best Dressed list multiple times.
Previous inductees include Queen Elizabeth, Coco Chanel, Sofia Coppola, Giorgio Armani, Kate Moss, David Beckham and David Bowie.
The appointment to the Hall of Fame comes as the duchess - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - was named on the International Best Dressed list for the fifth time.
In a brief profile for the list, her "notable ensemble of 2014" was
the bright red Catherine Walker coatdress she wore on her royal tour of New Zealand in April.
And Catherine wasn't the only royal to make this year's list.
the King of Bhutan was one of three "originals" recognised, while Denmark's Crown Princess Mary and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands were also praised for their sartorial selections this year.
Other famous faces on the list included Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong'o, Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth and his wife Livia.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini got "distracted" by an 'X Factor' hopeful's raunchy moves.
Spanish Farella, 27, performed George Michael's hit song 'Faith' at Wembley Arena in a bid to get through to the next stage of the competition, but was told by the judging panel to stop "touching his crotch" so much.
Cheryl said: "I was a little bit distracted. You were touching your crotch a lot.
"You sang well. If you can keep your hands to yourself I will say yes."
Simon Cowell added: "Could you do the song without touching your crotch. You were doing it a lot."
He then jokingly turned to Louis Walsh and asked: "Did you like that Louis?".
The unemployed hopeful begged to be put through to the next round of the show because he wants to "inspire" fellow Spaniards.
He said: "I came on this show because my country is in crisis at the moment and hopefully I can be an inspiration.
"There are a lot of Spanish people living in Britain. Five years ago I could not speak English at all.
"I came on this show as I am a really big fan and it is the best way to make my dream come true as everybody knows 'The X Factor UK'.
"I want to be on the stage. I was born to be on the stage."
Cheryl admitted she was very impressed by Farella's command of the English language.
She said: "It always blows my mind when someone from another country goes to another country and sings in our language."

Zoe Saldana wants her children to be multilingual.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actress - who is believed to be pregnant with twins - and Italian spouse Marco Perego want their kids to learn the same things she did as a child, but admits she will have to make a "conscious effort" to use Spanish more often as her own language skills have slipped as she has gotten older.
Zoe - whose father is from the Dominican Republic and mother is Costa Rican - said: "Of course [our children] will speak the languages that we speak; my sisters and I grew up learning French and speaking English and Spanish, and because of that, we're able to understand Italian and Portuguese. But I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to speak Spanish to my children, because I speak Spanglish."
The 36-year-old beauty - who married Marco in June 2013 - admits her Latina heritage is very important to her and she doesn't think raising a family will change her "passionate" ways.
She told Cosmopolitan for Latinas magazine: "It's one of the biggest factors about me: the fire, the passion, the 'in your face' quality.
"I'm not going to say, 'Whatever you want, whatever you say.' I'll say, 'You know what I think? I feel this.' "
While she is now happily settled with Marco, the 'Avatar' star - who previously dated Bradley Cooper - says she was never interested in guys who "worshipped" her.
Asked what she looked for in a guy, she said: "A man who has a natural respect for women - I don't want a man who worships me: Stay away from those.
"Worshipping doesn't count as really seeing me. I like men who work with women, are challenged by women, learn from women."
Rita Ora blasts an unnamed ex-boyfriend in her new song 'Poison'.
The blonde beauty - who is reportedly dating rapper Richard Hilfiger - has previously been in relationships with DJ Calvin Harris, reality star Rob Kardashian and sports agent Dave Gardner and admits the track is about her "bad luck" in her personal life, but stopped short of admitting who she singles out in the track.
Chatting to Clash magazine, the 23-year-old singer shared: "['Poison'] is about my bad luck with love."
The lyrics are harsh, comparing her former love to a snake and the devil.
At one point Rita sings: "Like a serpent/From the Garden of Eden/You are like poison/Running in my blood.
"I open up my windows/I'm so sick of breathing/Every day I'm trying/But I don't remember who I was before you came."
The feisty singer hasn't confirmed who the song has been aimed at but given her past relationships, it's safe to say she's had a lot of material to work with.
In June, Calvin publicly announced his split from Rita via Twitter and has reportedly offered other pop stars the songs he wrote originally for her second album.
Ex-boyfriend Rob has also been vocal about his relationship with the blonde beauty.
In 2012, the sock designer took to Twitter to rant about his failed romance with the 'Hot Right Now' pop star and even alleged Rita had cheating on him.
He wrote: "She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together... But I mean 20?!!!!"
Ironically, Rita appeared to eventually respond to Rob by saying she wouldn't talk about her relationship in public.
She said: "When you are involved with someone for a while and they decide to express their feelings to the public, well, that's not my personal way of therapy but I guess everyone takes split-ups differently."
Katie Price took her newborn daughter home from hospital yesterday evening (06.08.14).
The 36-year-old star gave birth to the little one, whose name is yet to be revealed, two weeks early on Monday (04.08.14) via an emergency caesarean section, and she couldn't hide her delight at being able to take the youngster back to her house for the first time last night.
Taking to her YouGossip site to give her fans the good news, a clearly excitable Katie wrote: "Woooo hooooo here we go loving her new car seat (sic)"
The mother-of-five - who also has 11-month-old son Jett with cheating husband Kieran Hayler, and 12-year-old Harvey, nine-year-old son Junior and seven-year-old Princess from previous relationships - posted a picture of her daughter's new car seat to go alongside the message.
While the former glamour model appears delighted to have been able to take her and Kieran's newborn home, she wasn't quite so pleased with the state of her swollen feet following the birth.
Katie shared an image of one of her larger-than-normal tootsies and captioned the picture: "Soo swollen (sic)"
The star allowed husband Kieran, 27, to be at their daughter's birth on Monday, despite discovering earlier this year that he had been having an affair with her friends Jane Poutney and Chrissy Thomas.
The former stripper - who is undergoing therapy for sex addiction - was said to have "cried like a baby" as his wife gave birth.
A close friend of Katie's said: "When the baby was delivered, Kieran started crying like a baby. She feels the birth of his daughter has made him see the light.
"Kieran proved himself to Katie over the last week. He was dressed in scrubs for the operation and she loved it. She joked that the last time he was in clothes like that was for a stripping routine."
Katie has vowed to stick by the plasterer as he undergoes therapy.

The 'Only Way is Essex' star, who began dating the brunette beauty in 2012, imagines popping the question to the busty babe on a daily basis and can't wait to tie the knot with her.
He gushed to BANG Showbiz: "I think about it [proposing] every day. Obviously I want to marry her."
The 23-year-old hunk is unsure when he will get down on one knee but is excited for the magical moment.
He explained: "I'm looking forward to proposing. As soon as the time is right I will definitely be proposing, so let's hope she says yes!"
As well as professing his love for the 28-year-old star, Ricky expressed his fondness for their dog Bella - which he bought for his beau for Christmas two years ago - and how he is eager to expand their family.
Speaking ahead of a skydive to raise money for The Cure Parkinson's Trust, he said: "I want to be with her for the rest of my life and have a nice little family, like we've already started with our dog. It's like a little family, it's quite cute."

Steven Goode says his on-screen romp with Kimberly Kisselovich on 'Big Brother' was dignified.
The couple - who have revealed Kimberly suffered an ectopic pregnancy after falling ill on the Channel 5 show - hooked up on the programme, but 23-year-old hunk insists it was not in a disrespectful manner.
He said: "We weren't at it stark-b*****k naked having full-blown sex with no covers on. That's bang out of order. We did it in an intimate manner in the bedroom and no one was aware. At least we thought we weren't. I don't want to watch those scenes back!"
Their relationship has intensified since leaving the house, and the couple, who have only been together a brief period of time, are already thinking of getting hitched.
Steven explained to OK! magazine: "They tried to make me propose on [spin-off show] 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side' but when it happens it'll be a surprise.
"Put it this way - I'm going through the planning at the moment. Let's leave it at that."
Kimberly, meanwhile, revealed she dreams of a wedding featuring "purple flowers and a nice white elegant dress but not too Cindarella".
Take That will make their return on a movie soundtrack.
The 'Greatest Day' hitmakers - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald - are recording a song for the soundtrack of forthcoming spy story 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' and are said to be hopeful the track could finally be the one that helps them crack America.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Take That are a really big pull in Hollywood.
"Gary Barlow's scores are well known in the industry and producers want a top British name to feature on the movie.
"The band are also keen to get involved as it will give them decent exposure in the States, a market they've never really cracked.
"But 2014 so far has been a huge year for Take That, and featuring on a film soundtrack will make it even more exciting."
The track marks the first new material from the band since 2010 album 'Progress', which saw them reunite with former member Robbie Williams.
The 'Angels' hitmaker will not be joining them on their new album, which is expected to be released later this year, or an accompanying tour next year.
The movie is written by Jane Goldman and directed by Matthew Vaughn, the same behind-the-scenes team that made 'Stardust', the 2007 movie which featured the group's hit 'Rule the World'.
'Kingsman: The Secret Service' will star Sir Michael Caine, Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson and is scheduled for release later this year.
