Kelly Osbourne calls Joan Rivers ‘Grandma’

Kelly Osbourne calls Joan Rivers "Grandma".
The 29-year-old star grew up without her grandparents in her life, so says her 80-year-old 'Fashion Police' co-host is the closest thing she has ever had to a grandmother, and was delighted when her friend told her that was how she can now refer to her.
Kelly wrote on her blog: "Growing up I never had grandparents. About two months ago during a taping of 'Fashion Police', there was some sort of technical difficulty.
"Joan turned to me out of nowhere and said, 'You have no idea how much I love you my darling!' I proceeded to tell her how mutual the feeling was and that she is the closest thing I have ever had to a grandmother! We both shared a little tear and then it was on with the show!
" The next morning I woke up to one of the most heartfelt emails I have ever received. The email was from Joan. Long email short (so I don't get too sappy) Joan told me that she was officially MY GRANDMOTHER!!! From now on I am to call her Grandma J! (sic)"
Kelly - who was hospitalised last March after suffering a seizure - is thankful for all the support she receives from Joan and her daughter Melissa.
She added: "If I need anything and I mean anything, Joan and Melissa are always there for me. She gives the BEST advice.
"When I was in the hospital after having a seizure she came to visit me almost every day. When I am sad she is one of the only people that can make my laugh.
"Joan is not just my boss she is my teacher, advisor, therapist, and closest friends but now she is now my Grandmother.
"Joan, I love you to death (just don't die yet ya old bitch) thank you for everything you have done for me. Thank you for always believing in me. I love you, I love you, I love you! (sic)"

Queen Elizabeth mingles with journalists

Britain's Queen Elizabeth mingled with journalists at a charity event yesterday (07.05.14).
The monarch celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Journalists' Charity, which supports journalists and their families in need, and mixed newspaper editors, broadcasters and senior media executives.
The 88-year-old royal and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, attended the event at Stationers' Hall in London and Prince Philip joked with young reporters that they "don't get paid enough".
The event, which also saw the Culture Secretary Sajid Javid attend, recognised the achievements of the Journalists' Charity, which has been in operation since 1864 and the Queen is a patron.
Laurie Upshon, the charity's chairman, said: "The visit cements a connection that goes back 150 years.
"The Royal Family have been very good supporters of the charity since the very start, Queen Victoria actually donated £50 three times."

Channel 4 launches marriage experiment

Channel 4 is launching a new show where couples will marry after meeting for the first time.
The programme, titled 'Married at First Sight', is based on a Danish series of the same name and will explore whether or not science can help people determine who 'the one' is.
A statement on the Channel 4 website reads: "The vast majority of us are brought up to assume that love is something that just happens, but there are now 15.7 million single adults in the UK and marriage is at an all-time low (2011 census, office of national stats). Have marriage and monogamy had their day. Have we forgotten how to fall in love? Is it really possible to 'choose' to fall in love?"
The couples are chosen from a pool of 200 people, who are paired together with the help of scientific and sociological criteria.
A panel of experts who can analyse psychology, psychotherapy, social and evolutionary anthropology and theology will also be involved to determine whether they're well suited.
'Married at First Sight' will follow the couples for the first six weeks of their marriage but at the end of the filming period the couples have to decide whether or not they really want to be committed to one another forever.

Matt LeBlanc wanted to stop Schwimmer getting Episodes role

Matt LeBlanc took on the lead role in 'Episodes' to stop David Schwimmer getting it.
The 46-year-old actor portrays a fictional version of himself in the comedy series - which is written by 'Friends' creator David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik - and he has joked he decided to accept the part so Crane didn't get his friend and former co-star Schwimmer instead.
Recalling when he was approached about the project, LeBlanc said: "I was at home and trying to reassemble my normal life (after 'Friends') and Jeffrey Klarik and David Crane called me and he said, 'I've got an idea.' Obviously I'd had a great experience with David. We got together for lunch and they pitched me the whole first season with nothing written on paper just off the top of their head , usually you have a pilot idea. They went through it ... and at the end it was a high five moment. I said, 'That sounds awesome.' My only reservation was that it was me playing myself, that seems a little strange I don't feel comfortable with that. They said, 'It's not a documentary, it's a scripted character anything you don't like we can lose.' It's kind of loosely based on me but it's really the public's perception of a celebrity ... To get to work with David again and Jeffrey was too good an opportunity. I was almost like, 'Gosh, if I don't say yes, they'll go to Schwimmer. I can't let him have it!'
LeBlanc admits it could be easy to be offended by at the jokes that are aimed at him in the series - which also stars Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig - but he always reminds himself that he's just playing a character that shares his name.
During an appearance on 'This Morning' today (08.05.14), LeBlanc said: "Quite often I'm the brunt of the joke and they take pot shots at me but I don't look at it that they're taking shots at me, they're taking shots at that character in the show. To me I have to look at it as a fictitious character."

Mario Falcone meets ‘amazing’ girl on holiday

Mario Falcone has met an "amazing" new girlfriend.
The 'TOWIE' star - who was previously engaged to Lucy Mecklenburgh - fell for the mystery lady during a recent trip to Dubai and he is so besotted with her he is flying back to the UAE to see her again within the month.
During an interview on 'This Morning', he revealed: "I got back from Dubai two days ago, I went there with friends ... and I've been trying to find a girlfriend for ages. It's been a struggle as I couldn't find someone I could connect with like Lucy, I was trying too hard so I went to Dubai to have some boy time. But the second day I met this girl called Sophie and she was amazing."
Mario was then stopped in his tracks by host Phillip Schofield, who told him: "Do me a favour - don't talk about her any more ... if it's going to be the special one then save it for you."
To which Mario replied: "Yes. I'll be flying back there in three weeks."
Mario also spoke candidly about his suicide attempt with pills and battle with depression, admitting his split from Lucy and the fallout sent him into a negative spiral.
He explained: "I got myself in a really bad rut, a monotonous routine and things weren't going well with Lucy at the time. And this was eighteen months ago ... I was quite down, I wasn't training and doing the things I enjoyed before ... The suicide attempt was more circumstance - my life had gone from being perfect to being in tatters ... but I look back at that now and wonder how I ever got into that place. I was embarrassed about what I'd done."
Mario, 26, has been able to beat his depression with the help of therapy and also revealed he has been inspired to settle down by his baby nephew Buzz, his sister Giovanna's son with her husband, McFly star Tom Fletcher.
He said: "I look my nephew who is eight weeks old today (08.05.14) and if I can love someone that much, I can't wait to have kids. That would mean for me to settle down and find someone I can have kids with and be part of my family ... I want what Giovanna and Tom have got."

Kasabian: Bands care too much

Kasabian think bands care too much about what people think and are "scared" to themselves out there.
The band - made up of frontman Tom Meighan, guitarist Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews - feel other bands are too worried about their reputations and upsetting people.
Serge told Short List magazine: "Bands are so frightened about the comments they receive on YouTube, they're scared of putting themselves out there.
"And that's a dangerous thing, because you get people that are self-aware with every move they're making. They give a f*ck too much."
The musician claims it's people like American artist Hunter S. Thompson and actor Jack Nicholson who are the more powerful because they don't care what people think.
He explained: "They're your boys! The ones that do sh*t and you go 'Ooh mate, what's that?' and they go, 'I don't give a f*ck'. It's that that's so dangerous and exciting."
Meanwhile, the band are set to play a huge homecoming gig in Leicester this summer after the release of their fifth album '48:13' and have been trying to secure the concert for years.
Tom said: "We wanted to do it at the football club, but there were too many restrictions.
"At the council we banged the door and banged it and banged it."
Serge added: "This time they were like, 'okay, this could be a good idea', and we done 50,000 tickets in two days. To do it in Leicester is the most unfashionable thing, but so us. We are Leicester."

Stanley Tucci loves doing animations

Stanley Tucci "loves" doing animation films since he doesn't have to wear make-up.
The 53-year-old actor - who was catapulted to the spotlight following his performance in 2009's 'The Lovely Bones' - lends his voice to the Japanese drama 'The Wind Rises' and insists he enjoys working on animated adventures because they avoid the hassles screen actors have to endure.
He explained: "I love doing animated films. It's fun because you don't really have to wear make-up, stand out in the cold or go too far away from home. So it's really fun. And you get to play like you're a kid again. But I also looked at the film and found it so beautiful. It was such an interesting story and I wanted to be involved in it."
Tucci - who has three kids with first wife, the late Kathryn Tucci, and is now married to Felicity Blunt - especially enjoys making family-friendly films since they're becoming a rarity.
He added: "As a parent, it's a great thing to know that there's a movie you have participated in that you can take your kids to. That isn't always the case. So that's really nice. And I think this genre is disappearing. So it's nice to have participated in it and to just have it around."
Meanwhile, Tucci hits the big screen as Caesar Flickerman in last year's 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' and more recently cameoed in the 'Muppets Most Wanted'.
'The Wind Rises' is released in UK cinemas on 9 May from Studiocanal.

Jon Hamm is more than a piece of meat

Jon Hamm insists talk of him being a sex symbol is "crazy".
The 'Mad Men' actor is baffled by the attention he receives for his handsome looks, as there are also many people who thinks he looks "old".
He said: "It's silly. First of all, it's completely arbitrary. Point me to 50 people online who think I'm super sexy, I'll point you to 50 more who say he's old and looks like my dad. It's not universal. If you buy into that, you're crazy."
The 43-year-old actor will bid farewell to his 'Mad Men' alter ego Don Draper next year and he treasures every moment of his time on the show as he has learned a lot.
He told People magazine: "It's been a long road. And it's coming to an end. But I can't express anything but the deepest gratitude for having worked on Mad Men. It's made me a better actor. And it's taught me how to deal with a lot of stuff in life in general."
While Jon favours a quiet life with girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt, he admits it is flattering to be recognised and complimented by fans.
He said: "It's nice that people tell you, 'I like what you do.' A big portion of getting to the place [I've] gotten in my career is recognizing that there is a tremendous amount of good fortune and luck. You can never feel entitled."

Paula Patton has ‘deep love’ for Robin Thicke

Paula Patton still has a "deep love" for Robin Thicke.
The 'Baggage Claim' actress split from the 'Blurred Lines' singer in February after eight years of marriage amid speculation she was tired of his partying ways, but she hasn't ruled out reuniting in the future.
Asked if they will get back together, she said: "We've known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there's a deep love there - always was, and always will be."
The 38-year-old actress began dating Robin - with who she has three-year-old son Julian - when they were teenagers, and she recalled he sang Jodeci's 'Forever My Lady' before they shared their first kiss in her parents' living room.
She told Vanity Fair magazine: "He wasn't my first kiss but he was my first lots of other things."
A source previously revealed that Paula was having second thoughts about filing for divorce, but is yet to feel convinced by Robin's efforts to prove he can be a good husband.
Though the couple insisted their split was mutual when they announced their separation, it was subsequently reported that Paula told her spouse she wanted a divorce and Robin did everything he could to get her to change her mind.

Justin Bieber: Sorry I didn’t bow down to Seth Rogen

Justin Bieber is "sorry" he didn't "bow down" to Seth Rogen when they met.
The 'Baby' hitmaker hit back at the 'Bad Neighbours' actor - who previously branded him "obnoxious," "ungrateful," and "insincere" - after Seth recalled the first time they met during an interview on 'The Howard Stern Show', where he called the singer a "motherf***er" who acted like he was the one who had requested to meet the teenage star.
Justin defended his behaviour putting it down to being a "bit shy" and insists he still likes the comedian's work.
He wrote on Twitter: "Seth Rogan sorry I didnt bow down when I asked 2 meet u was probably a bit shy and didn't want to be over the top but still. love ur movies (sic)"
Hours earlier, Seth insisted it's easy to "hate" the 20-year-old star because he lives up to the bad reputation which he's gained in recent months.
Seth explained: "He's a good example of someone you meet, who you think you're going to hate, and then you get to hate him as much as you thought.
"You meet him, and he lives up to every one of your expectations of how you hope he will be."
Seth previously lashed out at Justin after he was charged with drink driving, resisting arrest and drag racing in Miami, Florida in January.
The 31-year-old comedian and actor tweeted: "All jokes aside, Justin Bieber is a piece of s**t."
