X Factor spends 1m on advert

'The X Factor' judges have filmed a 'Game of Thrones'-themed advert.
Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole - who is expected to use her new married name Cheryl Fernandez-Versini on the show - Mel B and Louis Walsh - were joined by hundreds of extras at Pinewood Studios shooting the £1 million trailer, the most expensive in the show's history.
The short film - which took a week to film - sees the quartet lead singing warrior armies into war as they prepare to do battle to take the 'X Factor' throne, echoing the fantasy drama which sees warring families competing to take control of the seven kingdoms
The advert, which was helmed by One Direction music video director Ben Winston, also made extensive use of green screen and CGI technology.
Mel B shouts: "Things are about to get loud."
Cheryl winks and orders her 'army' to charge, while Simon warns: "It's time to get down to business."
The new advert will air for the first time on ITV tonight (01.08.14).
Meanwhile, Cheryl was reportedly left "unimpressed" by Louis at the Wembley auditions yesterday (31.07.14) after he told her he "didn't know" how to pronounce her new surname.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It was a frosty moment, Cheryl wasn't impressed."

Kerry Katona cried while fiance was sectioned

Kerry Katona cried as she watched her fiance being handcuffed by police before being under the Mental Health Act on Wednesday evening (30.07.14).
George Kay was reportedly admitted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after a concerned motorist called the police when she saw him running down the road near his and Kerry's home screaming that someone was going to kill him.
The Sun newspaper reports that George was shouting: "Kerry, Kerry, they're going to f***ing kill me. They are hitting me with the hammer. Why are you letting them do this?
"Kerry, Kerry, open the gate, please, love...
"Call me a f***ing ambulance."
A family friend said Kerry - who briefly watched proceedings from the doorway of her rented five-bedroom home in Oxfordshire was dressed in a robe and towel - was "devastated and very upset".
The insider added: "She was crying, in bits. None of the kids were around."
A passer-by told the newspaper: "George asked me for help, but it was as if he was looking straight through me."
He was also heard telling police officers: "You're burning me. Stop, I'm on fire."
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police told The Sun newspaper: "Thames Valley Police can confirm that officers were called to a road in Chinnor shortly after 6pm following concerns for the welfare of a man.
"A 34-year-old man was detained at the scene and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was detained under the Mental Health Act. He was later discharged."
The Atomic Kitten singer - who has children Molly, 12, Lilly-Sue, 11, Heidi, seven, and Max, six, from previous relationships and recently gave birth to her first child, Dylan-Jorge, with George - declined to comment, but a neighbour, who asked not to be named, told MailOnline: "It looked like he had been taking something like cocaine or ecstasy I think. He was behaving very strangely - actually it was quite frightening."
George was later released and Thames Valley Police confirmed they did not carry out any substance abuse tests and he faces no charges.

Adrienne Bailon defends herself over Rob Kardashian comments

Adrienne Bailon insists she never wanted to be famous for being "someone's girlfriend".
The former 'Cheetah Girls' star caused a stir earlier this week, after she claimed dating Rob Kardashian hurt her career and she has now defended herself after her remarks were slammed by his sisters Kim and Khloe.
Taking to Instagram yesterday (31.07.14), she wrote: "Fame and a Career are two different things. I've always had a career. I've been working hard since I was 15 years old. Being someone's "girlfriend" was never what I wanted to be famous for. "
In a direct comment to Kim, she added: "What makes you "famous" isn't always what you want to be "labelled" as, or known for. If anyone should understand that... It should be you."
The 30-year-old singer also defended her comments regarding her ex-boyfriend Rob, who she dated from 2007 to 2009, insisting she didn't regret their relationship.
She added: "I also stated in the article that none of this would have stopped me from being that relationship. I just would have gone about it differently. You can love someone just as much in private. We all learn from our first loves."
Following the publication of Adrienne's interview in Latina magazine, Kim blasted her for "kicking her brother when he is down".
She also tweeted: "Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc she is talking about a Kardashian (sic)"
Her sister Khloe Kardashian also joined in later tweeting: "thought her and I were cool SMH (sic)"

Mollie King reunites with David Gandy

Mollie King has reportedly got back together with David Gandy.
The Saturdays singer split with her US producer boyfriend Jordan Omley last month and following their separation, she has grown increasingly close to the hunky model, who she dated for 10 months two years ago.
A source said: "Mollie and Jordan are all over. It ended over a month ago and was actually very amicable.
"It was a mutual decision between them and things had just come to a natural end."
Earlier this week, Mollie, 27, and David, 34, were spotted holding hands on a night out in Fulham, west London, but they are said to be taking their rekindled romance slowly.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "David and Mollie never fell out and remained pretty close even after they broke up.
"There's obviously a strong attraction but they're taking things slowly and waiting to see if it's practical to become serious again.
"But there was no crossover between Jordan and David. Mollie's a very loyal girlfriend."
The 'Disco Love' singer is said to have ended her romance with Jordan because the distance between them proved too much, and is so private most of her friends only found out when she attended bandmate Frankie Sandford's recent wedding to Wayne Bridge alone.

Katy Perry praised by president

Barack Obama hailed Katy Perry as a "wonderful person" last night (31.07.14).
The US president was delighted to have the 'Dark Horse' hitmaker perform at the White House at a dinner to honour the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics and admitted he felt "grateful" she had taken time out of her busy schedule to be at the event.
Introducing her on stage, Obama said: "We have just one of my favorite people performing tonight -- Katy Perry. We are so grateful to her.
"I love Katy Perry. She is just a wonderful person. I've just met her mom and now I know why she is such a wonderful person, but I just want everybody to know she is on tour right now and so for her to take time out to do this is really special, and so we really want to say thank you to her for doing this."
Among those in attendance at the dinner were 'Lately' hitmaker Stevie Wonder, tennis player Andy Roddick and his model wife Brooklyn Decker.
Taking her mother, Mary Hudson, to the event was a big turnaround for Katy - who has performed twice before for the president - as she previously claimed she had banned her pastor parents from watching her sing at the Commander-in-Chief's second inauguration in 2012 because they didn't vote for him.
She said in the past: "My parents are Republicans, and I'm not. They didn't vote for Obama, but when I was asked to sing at the inauguration, they were like, 'We can come.' And I was like, 'No, you can't. I love you so much, but that--on principle.' They understood, but I was like, 'How dare you?' in a way."

Taylor Lautner: Cuckoo was a risk

Taylor Lautner says taking a role in 'Cuckoo' was a "big risk".
The 'Twilight' star is currently starring alongside 'The Inbetweeners' comedian Greg Davies in the second series of the BBC Three show and he's admitted he was worried about joining the cast of the comedy.
The actor explained: "I wasn't confident at all. I'd only done cameos in comedy films before and I hosted 'Saturday Night Live', but this was my first fully fledged comedy, so it was a big risk for me. But I'm so glad I did it."
The heartthrob also revealed the reasoning behind him agreeing to appear in the show which previously starred 'Brooklyn Nine Nine' actor Andy Samberg in the first series.
He said: "Well, I hadn't seen the show originally, but the producers reached out and said they'd love for me to look at it and see if I was interested.
"So I watched the first series and loved it from beginning to end. I knew it would be something completely different for me, and that was the biggest thing that attracted me to it.
"I haven't done anything like this before. I thought it would be a lot of fun and that's exactly how it turned out."
Taylor also spoke about his character and described him as being "like a little puppy dog in many ways".
He told heat magazine: "He's very sweet and naïve, but also very loyal to this new family he's ended up living with."

James Bond script approved

'Bond 24's revamped script has been approved by movie bosses.
Writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were rehired last month to "rescue" John Logan's original screenplay and insiders have now admitted they had a bigger task ahead than was originally reported, and their "substantially different" script has got producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, director Sam Mendes and lead actor Daniel Craig "excited" about the upcoming saga.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Everyone's excited, and all systems are pumping away at full speed.
"There was an awful lot of work to do. It was a big job. The impression given was that Purvis and Wade were hired to add jokes -- but it was a bigger deal than that."
Logan was initially hired by Mendes to work on Purvis and Wade's script for 'Skyfall', the most recent Bond movie and the long-standing writing team - who have worked on numerous movies in the franchise - were let go for the latest script.
However, following some "polite turmoil" behind the scenes, they were asked to return and it is said they "behaved graciously" and got on with Logan and the director during the rewriting process.
Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw will all return alongside Craig for the new movie, with other cast members yet to be announced.
Filming is scheduled to begin in December.

Orlando Bloom vaulted sofa to reach Bieber

Orlando Bloom jumped over a sofa to punch Justin Bieber.
The 'Lord of the Rings' actor was involved in an altercation with the 'Baby' hitmaker at upmarket Ibiza eatery Cipriani earlier this week, and an onlooker claims the singer - who was rumoured to have slept with Orlando's then-wife Miranda Kerr almost two years ago - deliberately tried to provoke the British hunk.
Model Anastasia Skolkova, who was seated on a nearby table to Orlando, his friend Leonardo DiCaprio and other pals, said: "When Bieber walked maybe 10 metres away, Orlando maybe had half a minute to think about what he was going to do. He got up and started running. Then he jumped over the sofa.
"Nobody was sitting on the sofa, he jumped on it. Then security came and tried to separate them, but first, they had one punch.
"Then they separated. Then when everyone thought everything was quiet, they tried to fight each other again.
"Both tried to throw punches - but it was Bieber that provoked him. He said maybe two or three words to DiCaprio, then Orlando came in, maybe to defend what happened before with Miranda, and then he was angry. I couldn't hear exactly what was said."
Anastasia claims Justin - who didn't have a reservation at the restaurant - first approached Leonardo but was "flicked away" by the 'Wolf of Wall Street' actor.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Bieber said something to DiCaprio - I don't know exactly what, because it was seven or eight metres away. Leo brushed his hands at him, like, I don't care what you say. Yeah, he flicked him away."
And following the altercation, security had the 'Believe' singer removed from the upmarket eatery.
Anastasia said: "When security saw that even after they got separated, Bieber and Orlando tried to punch each other, security were like, 'Bieber came, Bieber provoked this fight' so they took his hands behind his back and took him away from the restaurant."

Amal Alamuddin celebrates bridal shower

Amal Alamuddin enjoyed a bridal shower on Tuesday (29.07.14).
The British human rights lawyer celebrated her impending marriage to George Clooney with an "intimate" dinner hosted by Ellen Barkin at the actress' New York home.
According to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, the shower was attended by both Amal and George's mothers and the 'Monuments Men' star's sister, and there were even a "few men" at the event.
Ellen met George when they worked on 'Oceans Thirteen' together and she previously claimed to be "proud" to say she had slept with the hunky actor.
She joked in 2006: "I am the only actress willing to stand here and say, 'I have f***ed George Clooney'. I'm very proud of it...
"If you don't have chemistry with George Clooney, you need to check your pulse."
The 53-year-old actor later insisted there had "never" been any romance between them, adding she was a "great friend".
The couple, who got engaged in April, are expected to marry in Italy in September.
It was recently claimed that George wants to hire 'Born to Die' hitmaker Lana Del Rey to perform at the wedding because Amal is such a big fan.
A source said recently: "Amal is a massive fan of Lana's, which has made George determined to make this happen.
"He contacted Lana's people to see if she'll perform at their wedding in Italy."

Kelly Rowland’s pregnancy was ‘a surprise’

Kelly Rowland admits her pregnancy wasn't planned.
The 'Motivation' hitmaker, who is expecting a baby boy with husband Tim Witherspoon, was initially shocked to discover the news, but has already chosen a name for their son.
The 33-year-old star said: "It was a surprise, I can definitely tell you that. It was a great surprise!"
She added: "The dad picked out the name. It has to do with family."
Kelly is really enjoying her pregnancy, but is struggling to adjust to her new curves.
She said: "I had no morning sickness. I feel great.
"The most shocking thing about pregnancy to me is probably the way your body changes -- nobody can prepare you for that. Not a book, not anything. You just go through it."
The former Destiny's Child star has been sticking to a healthy diet, but is giving in to some of her cravings.
She told PEOPLE.com: "I love sandwiches right now. I'm reading these different books and they're telling me what food is really great for the baby, to grow their nervous system, and their brain food and all that, so I've been trying to stay on that."
Asked what she's most looking forward to about motherhood, she said: "When I see the baby's face. That's it."

Jada Pinkett Smith is still besotted with Will Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith says Will Smith is much more than just her husband.
The 42-year-old actress, who has daughter Willow, 13, and son Jaden, 16, with the actor, admits she is "ecstatic" about the way their 17-year marriage has evolved.
She told Net-A-Porter's The Edit magazine: "We used to have all these rules, [but] as you go on in your relationship, you just get into a flow."
She added: "Will, to me, encompasses everything. It's almost as if calling him 'my husband' is too small of a word for what he means in my life... I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man, oh, man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that's what it's evolved into. And I'm just ecstatic about it."
Jada doesn't get upset by rumours she and the 'Bad Boys' star, 45, have an open marriage.
She explained: "The coping technique is knowing what the truth is. When you know that what's going on in your house is so the opposite [of what's being said], and you also know that when there's mystery, people fill in the gaps, that's okay. And then you look back at it and look at how creative people can be, and it's kind of entertaining. We can laugh because it's so ridiculous. But I get it. I don't take it personally."
The 'Madagascar' star is very protective over her children, but believes trust is the key to being a good parent.
She said: "I want my kids to be happy and I want them to be themselves. I was saying to a friend the other day, 'Remember, our kids are not us.' They're not. Sometimes we're trying to fix things that happened to us or projecting [onto them], and that's a terrible, terrible trap."
