Mitch Winehouse ‘bursting with pride’ over statue

Mitch Winehouse is "bursting with pride" over the unveiling of a statue of his daughter Amy Winehouse.
A memorial to the 'Back to Black' singer was unveiled in Camden, north London - where she lived before she died of alcohol poisoning three years ago - yesterday (14.09.14) to mark what would have been her 31st birthday and her father was particularly thrilled with the tribute because council officials had gone against protocol to secure its erection.
Speaking about the tribute to his daughter, Mitch told BANG Showbiz: "I'm bursting with pride because Camden, along with other councils, won't allow a plaque or statue for at least 20 years after the person has passed away and they've allowed this straight away.
"So, it's a fantastic testimony to Amy, her love of Camden and Camden's love of her. It's wonderful. It's great to be a part of it."
Alongside Mitch at the unveiling of the life-size statue - which was sculpted by Scott Eaton and features Amy's trademark beehive hairstyle - on Camden Square were Amy's mother Janis and a number of her friends.
Amy's father reminded those who had gathered for the occasion of the work he has been doing with the Amy Winehouse foundation, which he set up in his daughter's name following her passing in 2011 to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them realise their potential.
He said: "It is incredibly emotional to see Amy like this, but Scott has done an amazing job in capturing her ... We want to remind everyone of her talent and that her legacy, through her music and the Amy Winehouse Foundation, carries on.
"Camden meant a lot to Amy and vice versa and to have her forever standing at the heart of the hustle and bustle of that area just fits."

Kerry Katona marries George Kay

Kerry Katona has married George Kay.
The Atomic Kitten star tied the knot with the former rugby player, 34, at the luxurious Totworth Court Hotel near Bristol, South West England yesterday (14.09.14) with her best pal Katie Price, 36, acting as bridesmaid.
The 34-year-old singer was walked down the aisle by her son Max, six, and was joined by her daughters Molly, 12, Lily-Sue, 11, and Heidi, seven, from her two previous marriages, as well as the couple's four-month-old daughter Dylan-Jorge.
Kerry could barely contain her excitement before her big day, taking to Twitter she wrote: "Woo hoo!! xxx (sic)".
According to Daily Star newspaper, the couple banned the sale of alcohol at the upmarket event to prevent bad behaviour from guests after warning them they would be liable for any damage caused at the five star hotel.
Meanwhile, Kerry recently revealed her and her new husband had started trying for a sixth baby while the blossoming family holidayed in Cape Verde, western Africa.
She said: "We'll have a cheeky try for number six. I'd like another boy for my son Max's sake."
"George wants to have another baby soon because he doesn't want to be an older dad and we'd like the children to be close in age."

Louis Smith splits from Pascal Craymer

Louis Smith has split from Pascal Craymer.
The model and 'Towie' star confirmed the news shortly after a solo sex tape of the gymnast and 'Tumble' judge started circulating on the internet.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Pascal said: "I don't know what happened but it's over now.
"We have a connection every time we see each other but it doesn't go anywhere. It's been over for a while."
The beauty also spoke of her shock when she heard that Louis had made his own sex tape, which shows him stripping off before performing a sex act on himself.
Pascal said: "I texted him when I heard. He told me it was for a model from three years ago. I was worried people would think it was me."
Louis, 25, hasn't had a long-term girlfriend since he split from Billie Whyatt in 2011.
Pascal, meanwhile, has previously dated Mario Falcone and footballer Ashley Cole.
And the 'Towie' star admits that she has made some poor decisions when it comes to her love life.
The sexy brunette reflected: "I haven't gone for the best of people, have I?"

Paul Weller says giving up booze changed his body

Paul Weller says giving up drinking as changed his life.
The former Jam rocker has admitted getting clean has greatly improved his well-being, and while he was "never" fat, he has noticed some weight loss since decided to ditch the booze in favour of a healthier lifestyle.
He told the Times Magazine: "I gave up drinking four years ago and loads of things have changed for me. My body f***ing changed completely.
"I was never, like, really, really fat. But I just dropped all the pudgy weight and puffiness I had from being on the p**s all the time. I'm still smoking loads, though."
The 56-year-old fashion and music icon has previously revealed plans to write his autobiography and wants to give his memoir a science fiction twist.
Speaking earlier this year, he said: "Yeah. But with a science-fiction theme to it. Set in space or something."
However, the 'Wake Up the Nation' singer may have a hard time completing his old stories thanks to a ritual of destroying all his notebooks after making a record.
He added: "I had this ritual, all my notebooks, after I finished a record, I'd either burn them or cut them into little pieces.
"My feelings were always get rid of it, burn it, move on. It's only recently that a mate of mine said, 'You should have kept all of them.' So I've started keeping them now."

One Direction announce release date of new single

One Direction have announced details of the first single from their new album 'FOUR'.
'Steal My Girl', which will premiere around the world on September 29, is set to be released in the UK on October 12.
What's more, it's also been confirmed that the eagerly-awaited new track will come with a remix created by band member Liam Payne.
The announcement comes shortly after One Direction gave away a free taster track entitled 'Fireproof', which broke the download record with 1,089,278 copies in just 24 hours.
Allied to this, 'FOUR' hit the number one spot on iTunes stores in 67 countries two months before its official release.
Last month, Simon Cowell said that the new One Direction album is "fantastic".
He observed that the band have at least six songs that could light up the charts on their fourth studio album.
He told Capital FM: "The album's fantastic. There's probably five or six tracks I've already heard that could be singles.
"There's some very different kinds of songs than what we've done before, they've taken a few more risks. Most importantly, the boys love writing, they love recording."

Ashley Taylor Dawson didn’t want to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

Ashley Taylor Dawson didn't want to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'Hollyoaks' actor came in fifth place when he took part in the BBC One celebrity dance contest last year but he's revealed he never planned to take part in any reality TV because the idea "scared the hell" out of him.
Quizzed on whether he would do anymore reality shows, he told BANG Showbiz: "Never say never. I mean, I never wanted to do any reality, it's something I was scared of, to be fair.
"When Strictly rang me it was like, 'Wow, they're ringing me'. It was an honour to be asked and sort of a no brainer to do it but it scared the hell out of me. I didn't want to do it.
"It was a long running joke in my family about doing it. But I thought that with the kids and everything, you've got to do these things and I don't regret one minute of it."
He added: "I just wish the circumstances were different, i.e. Having sleep, not having a baby, not being in work full time."
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old hunk wishes this years' contestants - who include 'MasterChef' judge Gregg Wallace, former 'Xtra Factor' presenter Caroline Flack and ex-rugby pro Thom Evans - good luck, but refused to comment on who he thinks will take home the coveted glitterball trophy.
Ashley said: "There are a lot of contestants I don't think will win it. I will never say. I'd say there's three people I think will be in the final ... It's going to be fun. I can watch it this year with a whole new understanding of the show. I just say good luck to them all."

Jacqueline Jossa: Jake Wood has the hips for Strictly Come Dancing

Jacqueline Jossa thinks Jake Wood has the hips for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 21-year-old actress plays Jake's on-screen daughter Lauren Branning in 'EastEnders' and she's confessed she thinks he's going to be much better at performing his routines on the BBC One celebrity dance contest than people might expect.
Quizzed on what she thought of her on-screen dad taking part, she told BANG Showbiz: "I love it. You know what? It might be a bit funny but I don't think he would have done it if he was terrible because he cares too much about how he comes across.
"So he wouldn't want to ruin the image of Max Branning ... He does have good hips."
The brunette beauty - who is expecting her first child with her 'The Only Way Is Essex' star boyfriend Dan Osborne - also admitted that she'd be up for trying her hand at ballroom dancing herself.
When asked if she'd ever consider appearing on the show, Jacqueline added: "Probably. When I'm trying to lose baby weight!"

Liam Neeson says action heroes don’t have to be young

Liam Neeson says action movie roles are now for older actors too.
The 'A Walk Among the Tombstones' star has become a fixture in adrenaline-fuelled blockbusters like 'Taken', and while he think it isn't something for "much younger men" anymore, he's still waiting on his call for 'The Expendables".
He told The Independent newspaper: "Action heroes used to be for much younger men, but now I get all these scripts where it's, 'Scratch 35, and now it's 60!' ... No, ['The Expendables'] haven't asked me.
"I don't know if that's a good or bad thing."
As the 62-year-old actor grows older, he has noticed changes in society and the way they feel about certain things - and he insisted the current generation would rather replace an older item instead of repairing it.
He added: "They just don't fix things anymore. It gives me cause for concern.
"Where I live in New York, any time a bar closes down, suddenly there's a Revlon make-up shop. There must be about 15 of them along Columbus Avenue.
"In the middle of it all there's a little cobbler who operates from a tiny little space and I find myself sometimes breaking shoes in order to just bring them to him; just to keep it alive."

Bond 24 to begin filming in December

Filming for the new James Bond film is to begin in December.
Den of Geek reports that shooting for the eagerly-awaited new flick will start on December 6, 2014, with the star-studded cast set to get together at Pinewood Studios to read through the script in November.
Daneil Craig will play the lead role in the Bond franchise for the fourth time, while Sam Mendes is directing again.
It's also been confirmed that Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Rory Kinnear are returning.
However, there is still a vacancy for the role of Bond's foe in the upcoming movie.
The film's bosses said "the villain's henchman in 'Bond 24' is planned to be a classic physically imposing character who has several altercations with Bond throughout the mission".
Meanwhile, Daniel Craig is set for a secret cameo appearance in 'Star Wars Episode VII'.
The 'Skyfall' star, who is a big fan of the science fiction saga, has filmed a mystery role in the seventh instalment of the franchise, according to The Sun on Sunday.
An insider told newspaper: "Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters.
"Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him."

Ben Affleck: Jennifer Garner keeps me calm

Ben Affleck says Jennifer Garner helps him when he's scared by new project.
Despite forging an impressive career as an actor and filmmaker - winning multiple awards for his movie 'Argo', while the film itself was awarded Best Picture at the Oscars - the star still gets a feeling of "terror" he's going to mess it all up.
He said: "That terror when I'm about to start something can be motivating. It helps me kick my ass into gear, because I think, 'Oh my God, I'm gonna ruin this movie, I'm gonna not know what to do.'
"That's definitely a good, driving factor for me. My theory is that once you lose that, you're kind of going downhill ... [But] it's very trying for my wife.
"She's incredibly supportive and kind and patient with this, but I'll get into this thing of like, 'Oh my God, it's a f***ing disaster. This doesn't work, that doesn't work, I don't know what the f**k I'm gonna do.' "
Thankfully, his wife is a calming influence, and he admitted she is always "so on the money" with her assessment of the situation.
He told the Sunday Times newspaper's Culture magazine: "She'll just say, 'You said this on the last movie. You said it on the movie before.
"This is the point at which you go in there and listen to one song over and over again, and rewrite the scenes you don't like'. Then it's almost embarrassing, because she's so on the money."

Billy Connolly wishes he’d done more for Robin Williams

Billy Connolly wishes he "could have done more" to help Robin Williams.
The comedian - who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease last year - has compared himself to the late comedian and admitted he wished he'd been there for the 'Hook' star before he committed suicide last month.
Asked what he is best at, he said: "Doing nothing. People think it's easy but it takes years of practice. I used to be not quite like Robin Williams, but I'd find it hard to switch off.
"Robin was 'on' all the time. He was a joy to be around, let me tell you. In all the years I knew him I never got tired of him. He was a one-off, so warm, so human.
"In my quieter moment I do sometimes think I could have done more [to help him. It's a lonely life, show business. You spend a lot of time on your own, and if you dwell on these things you can hurt yourself, as Robin proved."
Meanwhile, Billy opened up about Parkinson's disease and insisted he isn't scared of it, but more intrigued.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday newspaper's Event magazine, he explained: "Not really. It comes and it goes ... I can't play banjo as well as I used to. It affects my left hand. There's a funny trait I've had all my life.
"When I'm in danger I go, 'Oh, this is interesting', instead of going, 'Holy s**t, what's happening?' I can stand back and observe it. It was the same in my drinking days.
"I had out-of-body experiences. I stood and watched myself falling in the street once. I saw myself fall and bounce. There's a time when you have to stop because you become pathetic."

Jay Z suggests Beyonce is pregnant

Jay Z has hinted that Beyonce is pregnant with the couple's second child.
The hip-hop star - whose relationship has been the subject of much speculation over the last few months - performed the song 'Beach is Better' at a recent concert in Paris, but perhaps telling, changed the lyrics to say, "cause she's pregnant with another one", Radar Online reports.
A source told the magazine: "For the last month, Jay has been fiercely protective of her, just like when she was expecting Blue Ivy [the couple's daughter].
"He's been doing everything he can to ensure that Bey is in a stress-free bubble."
What's more, the source revealed that their entourage has been told to speak in "relaxed" voices and also to only listen to "soft music".
Despite rumours of a split, Beyonce and Jay Z have appeared happy in public, with the 'Crazy In Love' singer recently saying she's her husband's "biggest fan".
And Jay returned the compliment on the last night of their 'On The Run' tour, saying: "It's been an honour and a pleasure to share the stage with you.
"I couldn't dream for anything else [than] to be in this stadium with the woman I love, who I believe is the greatest entertainer of our time. I love her. She's my wife."
