Catherine Duchess of Cambridge causes website crash

Catherine Duchess of Cambridge caused a website to crash yesterday (15.01.15).
The wife of Britain's Prince William was photographed wearing a Madderson London "Naomi" frock while on a royal visit to a primary school in the Notting Hill area of the capital, causing customers rush to the brand's website to buy the outfit.
Posting an image on Facebook of the duchess wearing the dress, the label said: "The Duchess of Cambridge looks beautiful wearing our Naomi dress today at a visit to a London primary school!"
However, the message of delight was shortly followed by a statement which explained huge demand to purchase the outfit had caused the website to stop working.
They wrote: "Apologies but our website is currently down due to exceptionally high traffic volumes. We're working to resolve this as soon as possible! We'll advise once we're back up..."
The loose-fitting navy dress featured cropped sleeves and embroidered trim, with the 33-year-old royal matching the frock with four-inch pumps and dark tights.
The website of the luxury British label - launched in 2012 - has since been fixed, but they revealed the dress has now sold out and they have no plans to create any more this season.
They wrote: "Our website is back online! However the ‪#‎naomidress‬ has sold out following overwhelming demand... (sic)."
In a further post, they added: "the ‪#‎naomidress‬ has now sold out and we won't be making any more this season (sic)."

Prince Harry teased over socks

Britain's Prince Harry has been teased for wearing cheap socks with an £8,000 outfit.
The young royal attended an event at London's St James's Palace on Wednesday (14.01.15) to which he wore a Savile Row suit, designer shoes and a luxury watch, but has been mocked for wearing golf socks which can be bought for £1.66 a pair along with the costly ensemble.
According to The Sun newspaper, the 30-year-old prince's Dege & Skinner suit cost £3,500, which he paired with a £190 shirt and a Breitling watch, which would have set him back approximately £3,150. Completing the outfit, he wore luxury, personalised leather shoes from made-to-measure bootmaker, John Lobb.
However, when he sat down for an official photograph with NBA player Carmelo Anthony, the prince exposed his black Dunlop socks which can be purchased as part of a three-pack for £5.
The 30-year-old bachelor was with the sportsman to present graduation certificates to young people who had taken part in the Royal Foundation's Coach Core initiative, which trains sports coaches for work within their communities.
Luckily for Harry, he was upstaged by the basketball star who sported bright yellow and blue patterned socks for the occasion.

Princess Anne opens research centre

Anne, Princess Royal, opened a research centre on Thursday (15.01.15).
The 64-year-old royal visited the University of Dundee to mark the official opening of the Farr Institute of Health Informatics Research, which is a state-of-the-art facility for health-related data research.
The vice-principal for research at the university and head of the college of medicine, dentistry and nursing, Professor John Connell, told those who had gathered for the event he was "delighted" the princess was in attendance, and praised cancer charity Tenovus - for which she is a patron - for supporting the centre's research.
He said: "We are delighted that HRH the Princess Royal has joined us to open the Farr Institute and also to recognise the tremendous work done by Tenovus as a charity supporting valuable medical research across Scotland."
Continuing to speak about the work undertaken at the university, Professor Connell explained how the centre had come into fruition from an initial grant from the charity, which the princess has fundraised for throughout her life.
He said: "The University has been a pioneer in the use of electronic health records to support medical research in the UK, working closely with NHS Tayside and Tenovus.
"An initial grant from Tenovus of a few thousand pounds over 20 years ago has grown into this facility we see in Dundee today and a £30million eHealth network across the UK."
The Princess Royal - who is married to Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence - previously visited Dundee University in 2011 when she opened the Centre for Molecular Medicine (CMM).

Katie Price to be paid £500,000 for Celebrity Big Brother

Katie Price is reportedly being paid £500,000 to join 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The former glamour model is believed to have agreed to enter the reality show house this evening (16.01.15) in return for the six-figure sum after Ken Morley and Jeremy Jackson were removed for unacceptable behaviour.
Channel 5 bosses - who have failed to persuade the 36-year-old star to appear in the past - are said to have offered her the biggest fee in the show's history in an attempt to shake things up.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Bosses have been after Katie for years but she's always said no. But this time they were desperate after axing Jeremy and Ken and went to her with an offer she just couldn't refuse."
Producers will be hoping the blonde beauty will add even more drama to the house due to her sour relationships with several contestants including Katie Hopkins - who criticised Katie for naming her latest child Bunny after it was revealed her husband Kieran Hayler had been cheating on her while she was pregnant.
Hopkins said at the time: "Makes sense, given your dad was going at it like a rabbit with all of mum's mates."
Housemate Perez Hilton has also previously spoken badly of the star saying, "I think her moment has passed," while model Alicia Douvall, 35, slammed her for stealing her lover, Dwight Yorke - with whom Katie had 12-year-old son Harvey.
Katie is also rumoured to have had a fling with Calum Best, 34, in the past.
The source added: "Katie is keen to settle scores with housemates, particularly Katie Hopkins ... Now she has decided to appear she can't wait to get into the house."
However, Katie has since dismissed rumours she is set to join the show after posting photos of her and Kieran on board a British Airways plane yesterday (15.01.15).
She captioned the photo: "Wooo here we goo little break for me and kieran together :))) (sic)."

Michelle Visage gave up alcohol in her 20s

Michelle Visage quit drinking when she was 21-years-old.
The 'Celebrity Big Brother' star has confessed she hasn't touched a drop of alcohol for 25 years as she turns into a "total sl*g" and has "no boundaries" when intoxicated.
She said: "I don't drink, I never drink.
"When I say I've never drank, I had a drink.
"The last time I had a drink I was 21.
"I realised that when I drink not only do I turn into a total sl*g, there's absolutely no boundaries."
The 46-year-old beauty admits that rather than passing out and not remembering what happened, she would wake up knowing exactly what she'd done but have no idea why.
The 'RuPaul's Drag Race' judge explained to The Sun newspaper: "I didn't black out, I knew what I was doing but I didn't like it.
"I would wake up with people and be like, I know I slept with you and I don't know why.
"Back then it wasn't safe.
"There was nothing about it that I enjoyed - the handful of times I got drunk, I was a nightmare.
"What was I just getting drunk to have random sex? It was not for me. I had to stop that.
"Every time I drank I didn't enjoy it and also I'm a Virgo, I'm a control freak."
Michelle - who has three children with her husband of 17-years - claimed there was no way she would break her sobriety in the reality show house but insisted she had no qualms about her housemates making fools of themselves.
She added: "But if my housemates want to drink, then drink get p***ed - you're going to make an ass of yourself on TV, not me."

Eva Price flees Weatherfield

Coronation Street's Eva Price will flee Weatherfield after being branded a love cheat by her boyfriend.
The Rovers Return barmaid, played by Catherine Tyldesley, is accused by her jealous lover Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) of having an affair with his dad Tony Stewart (Terence Maynard), the Daily Star newspaper reports.
However, rather than having an affair, Eva has been working with Jason's dad because he's offered to buy them a house at a local auction.
Confronted by her boyfriend, Eva responds: "What? Me giving your dad a kiss on the cheek for buying us a house at an auction that finished minutes before you barged in?
"How can you think I'd jump into bed with your dad? Me and you are over."
Jason quickly realises his mistake and tries to stop her from leaving Weatherfield.
He says: "I'm so sorry, let me make this up to you."
However, Eva refuses to accept his apology and instead heads to the United States to see her mother.
The storyline was devised to cover Catherine's real-life maternity leave, but she's revealed she hopes to return to 'Coronation Street' in the summer.
The 31-year-old actress said: "This is a huge new era for me. I am so excited about being a mum."

Michael Parr: I feel like one of The Beatles

Michael Parr feels like the Elvis Presley of 'Emmerdale'.
The 28-year-old star, who plays bad boy Ross Barton on the ITV soap, admits he feels like the king of Rock 'n' Roll or one of the members of The Beatles when female fans approach him on the street.
He said: "I had this girl come up to me trying to take a selfie but she was shaking that badly all the photos kept coming out blurred.
"She was so nervous because she was meeting Ross Barton from 'Emmerdale'. It's like I am one of The Beatles or Elvis Presley, it's totally mad."
The hunky actor - who's been inundated with x-rated pictures, messages and marriage proposals since joining the show - also claims he's been receiving more attention from men.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Guys stop me in the street and tell me, 'I hate you but only because my girlfriend never shuts up about you!' And they give me a lot of compliments on my hair, which is a bit bizarre!"
Michael - who worked as a teaching assistant at a special needs school in Essex before making it as an actor - is set to go up against 'EastEnders' actress Maddy Hill, 'Hollyoaks' hunk Cameron Moore and 'Casualty' newbie Lee Mead in the best Newcomer category at the National Television Awards next week.
He added: "If you win then you go, 'Oh yes, I deserve this', But if you don't win then it's like, 'Well, she's got more Twitter followers than me!' You make excuses!"

Gwyneth Paltrow’s ecstasy confession

Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed the hardest drug she has tried is ecstasy.
The 42-year-old star - who has children Apple, 10, and Moses, eight, with estranged husband Chris Martin - has confessed to taking the Class A drug at some point during her life but didn't go into detail about the situation.
When asked what the hardest drug she has ever taken was during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live's Plead the Fifth segment, she replied: "Ecstasy."
The blonde beauty had a slight smirk on her face after giving the answer but didn't elaborate on the topic.
Show host Andy Cohen then said: "Very good. She didn't plead the fifth everybody."
The star was also asked who she would prefer to be stuck in a lift with out of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Garner and while she tried to avoid choosing between the actresses at first, she eventually settled on the 'Unbroken' director and admitted it would be a great opportunity to get to know her more.
Elsewhere on the show, the 'Mortdecai' actress also admitted the best perk about being pals with Beyonce Knowles is that she has a good friendship with someone who knows what it is like to live in the public eye.
When asked to name the best thing about being friends with the 'Crazy In Love' hitmaker, she replied: "The best part about being friends with Beyoncé.
"The greatest perk of being their friend is that I have a relationship with people who are also - who have similar.
"Obviously I'm not as famous or successful as they are. But I do have a life in the public eye and I have people to sort of walk through life with in that capacity, and they're very kind and loving people."
Gwyneth also admitted she loves spending time with the couple's three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
She said: "And it almost means I get to be around their daughter, who I love so freaking much."

Emily Blunt staged bombed at Critics Choice Awards

Emily Blunt was stage bombed by her husband at the Critics Choice Movie Awards.
The 31-year-old actress shared a smooch with John Krasinski after he ran from backstage at the Hollywood Palladium in California last night (15.01.15) to surprise her as she picked up her Best Actress in an Action Movie prize for her role as Sergeant Rita Vrataski in 'Edge of Tomorrow'.
After it was announced Emily had won, John shouted "yes" before running up to her and giving her a big kiss.
She then said: "He's presenting next. Sorry, ruined that."
Emily thanked John - who she has 11-month-old daughter Hazel with - for putting up with her during filming for the role, in which her character helped to train Tom Cruise's alter-ego Major William Cage to improve his fighting skills, and joked she had tried some of Rita's moves out on him.
She said: "Finally, to my sneaky husband, John Krasinski, for being OK with the fact that he was married to a veiny, sinewy wrestler for the duration of this film, and also coming up with my favourite line ever which was, 'I'm terrified I'm gonna wake up one morning and you're benching me.'
"Which I did, just to kind of freak him out."
Emily also paid tribute to her co-star Tom and director Doug Liman at the ceremony, which was hosted by Michael Strahan.
She said: "I share this completely with Tom Cruise, who let me kick his ass every day. Doug Liman is extraordinary."
Other award winners saw Julianne Moore take home the Best Actress prize for 'Still Alice', Michael Keaton won Best Actor for 'Birdman', which swept the board with seven prizes, and 'Boyhood' was awarded Best Picture.

J.K. Simmons was down to last $20

J.K. Simmons was once down to his "last $20" when he was trying to make it as a young actor in New York City.
The 'Whiplash' star - who won Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Movie Awards for his role in the movie this month - struggled to get a job as a waiter when he was trying to make it as a star in the Big Apple so had to bed down for the night in "s***holes" and on his friends' floors because he had no money.
When asked how tough things were when he was a young actor, he replied: "Pretty bad. I had the balls to move to New York City and give it a try there but I wound up living on people's floors and subletting s***holes in Hell's Kitchen.
"I was going to cattle calls but I wasn't getting hired. I couldn't even get a job waiting tables or tending bar.
"I was down literally to my last $20."
The 60-year-old star - who was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor yesterday (15.01.15) - recalled one instance when he got emotional after his pal, Gregg Edelman, who is now a Broadway star, left him $40 because he was so hard up.
He added to Metro newspaper: "I remember when times were really tough, a friend of mine and I were hanging out and I was lamenting my fate.
"After he left I went to use the phone to call my parents.
"My buddy, a guy named Gregg Edelman, who is now well-known on Broadway but was another struggling actor then, had left 40 bucks under my phone.
"I was really moved by that."
