Michael Parr feels like the Elvis Presley of ‘Emmerdale’.
The 28-year-old star, who plays bad boy Ross Barton on the ITV soap, admits he feels like the king of Rock ‘n’ Roll or one of the members of The Beatles when female fans approach him on the street.
He said: "I had this girl come up to me trying to take a selfie but she was shaking that badly all the photos kept coming out blurred.
"She was so nervous because she was meeting Ross Barton from ‘Emmerdale’. It’s like I am one of The Beatles or Elvis Presley, it’s totally mad."
The hunky actor – who’s been inundated with x-rated pictures, messages and marriage proposals since joining the show – also claims he’s been receiving more attention from men.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Guys stop me in the street and tell me, ‘I hate you but only because my girlfriend never shuts up about you!’ And they give me a lot of compliments on my hair, which is a bit bizarre!"
Michael – who worked as a teaching assistant at a special needs school in Essex before making it as an actor – is set to go up against ‘EastEnders’ actress Maddy Hill, ‘Hollyoaks’ hunk Cameron Moore and ‘Casualty’ newbie Lee Mead in the best Newcomer category at the National Television Awards next week.
He added: "If you win then you go, ‘Oh yes, I deserve this’, But if you don’t win then it’s like, ‘Well, she’s got more Twitter followers than me!’ You make excuses!"
