Coronation Street’s Eva Price will flee Weatherfield after being branded a love cheat by her boyfriend.
The Rovers Return barmaid, played by Catherine Tyldesley, is accused by her jealous lover Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) of having an affair with his dad Tony Stewart (Terence Maynard), the Daily Star newspaper reports.
However, rather than having an affair, Eva has been working with Jason’s dad because he’s offered to buy them a house at a local auction.
Confronted by her boyfriend, Eva responds: "What? Me giving your dad a kiss on the cheek for buying us a house at an auction that finished minutes before you barged in?
"How can you think I’d jump into bed with your dad? Me and you are over."
Jason quickly realises his mistake and tries to stop her from leaving Weatherfield.
He says: "I’m so sorry, let me make this up to you."
However, Eva refuses to accept his apology and instead heads to the United States to see her mother.
The storyline was devised to cover Catherine’s real-life maternity leave, but she’s revealed she hopes to return to ‘Coronation Street’ in the summer.
The 31-year-old actress said: "This is a huge new era for me. I am so excited about being a mum."
