Noel Gallagher forgives ex-Oasis members for joining Beady Eye

Noel Gallagher has forgiven his former Oasis bandmates for joining his brother Liam’s old band Beady Eye on the "dark side".
The Britpop band’s ex-guitarist and songwriter has taken almost a decade to let his pals off for choosing to join Liam in the ‘Face the Crowd’ group, which the ‘Wall of Glass’ singer formed after Oasis split in 2009, following a backstage bust-up at a festival performance in Paris, which ended with Liam swinging a guitar at his family member’s head.
However, it’s only because guitarist Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock are now members of his High Flying Birds, and Noel insists the pair begged him to let them join him in his solo project as touring members.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Well, they came crawling back on their hands and knees.
"And they were saying, ‘Please forgive us for going to the dark side.’
"And I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to give you one f***king last change.’"
Gem joined the ‘Supersonic’ rockers in 1999 after original guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs’ quit, and is Noel’s touring group’s rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist.
Chris was only a part of Oasis for one year, as he started in 2008 after previous drummer Zak Starkey left the group, and has been in High Flying Birds since 2016.
Beady Eye, which came to end in 2014, also included Oasis’ ex-bassist Andy Bell and Liam’s now solo touring member Jay Mehler and Jeff Wootton, who in 2015 appeared in Noel’s music video for ‘Ballad of the Mighty I’.
Meanwhile, fans hoping to see all of the members back as one in the ‘Wonderwall’ group will be disappointed, as Noel recently admitted social media has scuppered the chances of an Oasis reunion.
The 50-year-old rocker recently said he will "never walk on stage" again Liam – who he has feuded with ever since the band broke up – because his wife Sara MacDonald and his children – 17-year-old daughter Anais, whom he has with ex-wife Meg Matthews, and sons Sonny, seven, and 10-year-old Donovan with Sara – are constantly subjected to "not very nice" comments about the band online.
He said recently: "My wife is on social media and my kids are on social media and people come after them on social media and it’s not very nice. It is ugly.
"My wife has shown me things that people have written about her and it’s disgraceful. My daughter has shown me things people have written about her in regards to Oasis. That’s disgraceful.
"It only heightens my resolve that I’ll never walk the stage with that band again. [used to not want to reform the band for] professional reasons, but now it’s personal.
"People are coming after my family, and one particular person [Liam] has legitimised it.
"And for that reason you’ve seen the last of Oasis."
