Daniel Radcliffe says Horns character is ’emotionally intense’

Daniel Radcliffe claims the character he plays in new movie 'Horns' is the most "emotionally intense" of his career.
The 25-year-old actor, who found international fame playing the role of Harry Potter, performs the part of Ig - a man suspected of murdering his girlfriend - in the new film based on the novel by Joe Hill.
Speaking to Total Film, Radcliffe explained that although his character is a "good person", he is more overtly angry than those he's played earlier in his career.
Radcliffe remarked: "He's a good person who has something inexplicable and terrifying happen to him.
"Ig's anger is a lot more on display than any character I've played. The way he lashes out at the world is much more overt than I've done before.
"And I think, frankly, it's one of the most emotionally intense characters I've ever played."
Radcliffe's new film will be released in the UK on October 31.
Meanwhile, Jon Hamm claimed recently that Radcliffe has handled fame with "enviable" grace.
The 'Mad Men' actor, who appeared alongside the 'Harry Potter' star in 'A Young Doctor's Notebook', explained: "For the majority of his teens he was the most famous person in the world, in the eyes of 13 to 18 year olds, but he has handled it all with a grace that is enviable."

Jessica Chastain opens up about depression

Jessica Chastain fell into a spiralling depression while out of work.
The 37-year-old actress has spoken about the sadness she felt when she unexpectedly found herself unemployed.
The 'Zero Dark Thirty' star admitted that being selective about which films she appeared in ended up being detrimental to her health when she was left with no options.
In the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, she says: "[Not working felt] a little bit like grief and I started to feel really negative about myself, down on who I am, and then I realised it's because I've had so much time away from me that I don't really know what I like to do any more."
However, she said she is now feeling a lot more positive following her work on new movies, including Guillermo del Toro's 'Crimson Peak' and crime drama 'A Most Violent Year'.
She explained: "I'm out of it now but there was this feeling of being sad or depressed... wanting to go to another project."
Despite her rediscovered optimism, the Golden Globe winner revealed she still feels self-conscious about her behaviour and image.
She added: "Probably there are some people who feel great about themselves and don't second-guess anything they say or do or wear, but that's just not me."

Writer launches lawsuit over Frozen plot

Disney movie 'Frozen' is the target of a $250 million (£154 million) plagiarism lawsuit filed by Peruvian writer Isabella Tanikumi.
The writer alleges the film is closely based on her life, citing 18 specific instances in which the film has supposedly copied from her memoir.
Entitled 'Living My Truth and Yearnings of the Heart', Tanikumi's memoirs detail her experiences as a youngster living near the Andes.
The Guardian newspaper reports that the the memoirs feature two sisters who become closer in light of an earthquake, which causes the death of a loved one, in addition to suitors whose names Hans and Cristoff.
What's more, the memoir tells the story of one sister injuring the other and subsequently going into hiding due to her own shame..
This is not the first time 'Frozen' has been the subject of such claims.
It has previously been alleged that the hit movie is based on - and not just inspired by - Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale 'The Snow Queen'.
The film, which was released last year, earned more than $1 billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing animated movie of all time.
Meanwhile, a short follow-up to the original flick - which starred Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel - will be released in 2015.

Robert Pattinson ‘done’ with Los Angeles

Robert Pattinson is "done" with Los Angeles.
The 28-year-old actor - who sold his mansion in the popular city last year for $6.37m - has admitted he has no intentions to return to live in Hollywood.
He told The Independent's Radar magazine: "If you are the kind of person who needs to be pushed into doing something, then Hollywood is not the right place.
"I think I might be done with Los Angeles. I've just realised that in the past few weeks."
The 'Twilight' star also explained how he felt as though he'd been holiday-ing in "fun" LA for several years and is keen to return to London.
He said: "I think I need to spend more time in London, or just move around a bit more. I've been in LA for six or seven years or something and it's weird.
"The more you stay there, especially as an actor, the more you think you need to be there, that you'll be missing out on something by leaving, but you are not really.
"It's a fun city, though, but you are permanently on holiday there. I feel like I've been on holiday there since I was 22."

William Shatner admits interest in Star Trek role

William Shatner is interested in appearing in the new 'Star Trek' movie.
The 83-year-old actor - who gained international fame by appearing as Captain James T Kirk in the 'Star Trek' TV series in the 1960s - has been linked with a role in the film in recent weeks, but until now has always denied such suggestions.
However, speaking at an appearance at the Wizard World Nashville Comic-Con, Shatner admitted producer JJ Abrams had been in touch with him.
Asked if he would be interested in appearing in the next film, Shatner explained: "Oh, yeah. If it is meaningful."
The actor added he's been sworn to secrecy on the matter, also saying his proposed appearance alongside Leonard Nimoy as Spock would create some logistical issues.
Shatner said: "So I get back from Australia, and it is all over the internet that the director held an interview and said they wanted Shatner and Nimoy to be in the next movie.
"I bet JJ [Abrams] is frothing at the mouth."
He added: "How do you get me fifty years later into the movie?
"I know it's science fiction, but even I couldn't come up with an idea."

Benedict Cumberbatch not ready for Oscar talk

Benedict Cumberbatch insists it's too early to speculate whether or not he will win an Oscar.
The 38-year-old star has received rave reviews for his portrayal of mathematician Alan Turing in 'The Imitation Game' but claims it's far too soon to talk about his chances of bring nominated for an Academy Award.
Quizzed on how he would feel, he told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "It would be amazing, but to be honest it's so premature that it would almost be futile to talk about it.
"I understand why it always happens at festivals, but I just got my suit back from the dry cleaners from this year's Oscars... There's lots of films to see before we start going, 'Oooh, blah, blah."
The 'Sherlock' star went on to insist that he's more interested in telling a good story than winning awards.
He added: "The most important thing is that any kind of buzz creates an interest in the film, which means people will see it hopefully and that means the Alan Turning story will get to a broader audience.
"And that, as a storyteller, is all I am concerned about. And if I have done a good job as him as well, that's great."

Classic movie star Kit Harington

Kit Harington is like "a classic movie star", according to 'Pompeii' director Paul W.S. Anderson.
The director - who worked with the 'Game of Thrones' actor on the 2014 film 'Pompeii' - has heaped praise upon the 27-year-old star for his ability to convey emotion with his body language.
Talking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Paul explained: "Kit does hark back to a lot of my favourite actors. People like Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen.
"They were famous for going through scripts and dialogue and saying, 'You know what I can do this just with a look or just the way I hold myself.' To me, he is a classic movie star in that regard."
When 'Pompeii' was released in April, the director was accused of digitally altering Kit's physique, but Paul was adamant that it was all down to the handsome actor's determination to become like his character, Milo.
He said: "He became a warrior. Most of that, his body, didn't come from going to the gym a lot. It came from doing endless sword fighting training and just diet. In that regard he became the gladiator that he was playing."
The 'Resident Evil' director also shared how Neil Marshall - who has directed an episode of 'Game of Thrones' with Kit in the past - got in contact with him regarding the actor's improved form.
Paul joked: "[Neil] sent me an email, and he'd worked with Kit before and he said thank you for turning him into such an amazing gladiator. He said it's much easier to shoot all the action scenes. He really went to gladiator bootcamp."
'Pompeii' is available on DVD and Bluray now.

Chloe Grace Moretz ‘begged’ to audition for ‘The Equalizer’

Chloe Grace Moretz "begged" to audition for 'The Equalizer'.
The 17-year-old actress - who stars alongside Denzel Washington in the action thriller film - has revealed the part she landed was originally written for a 24-year-old.
Speaking on 'Good Morning America', she said: "I kind of begged to audition for it and I met with Antoine [Fuqua; the director] and we had a great meeting.
"And then I auditioned with Denzel and it went really well. It worked right."
The 'Kick Ass' star - who plays a Russian prostitute in the film - admitted she struggled to learn the language required by the part.
She explained: "I kind of had a cheat sheet on my phone all the time - I had it written down in phonetics.
"It's a hard language to learn because it's so different to English."
Meanwhile, Chloe - who has starred in numerous box office hits - has revealed that she has had to fight for every role she gets because of her age and gender.
She explained: "I'm still fighting hard for every role I get. I'm still fighting the boundary of how old or young I can be, or how they want me to be something I'm not.
"You are always having this struggle, especially as a female actor against the higher powers trying to keep you in a spot which makes them feel comfortable. That's a major thing I'm battling right now."

Robert Pattinson’s sweaty scenes

Robert Pattinson sweated like a "crazy person" while filming intimate scenes with Julianne Moore.
The 28-year-old actor - who stars alongside the actress in the new drama 'Maps to the Stars' - struggled to keep his cool on set in Toronto, Canada, during a raunchy sex scene with the flame-haired beauty.
The 'Twilight' star began sweating so profusely that the 53-year-old actress even became concerned for his health.
He told Heat magazine: "That was kind of hilarious - it was the first time I'd met Julianne as well. It was so hot in Toronto and she's one of these people - she doesn't sweat at all! But I sweat like a f**king crazy person. And I was trying to literally catch drops of sweat to stop them hitting her back.
"Afterwards, she was like, 'Are you having a panic attack?' It was so embarrassing."
Meanwhile, Robert also admitted he worried he wouldn't make it in the industry after failing to land any roles for three years when he first moved to Los Angeles.
He explained: "I'd been in LA for three years and not got a job, ever. 'Twilight' was my first job with my American agent, who had a six month turnover rate with clients.
"If you hadn't got a job in six months, you were kicked out of the agency, and my agent really stuck out for me."
