Jason Sudeikis named among all-star voice cast for ‘Angry Birds’

Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Danny McBride have all been named in the all-star voice cast for 'Angry Birds'.
The much-anticipated feature film of the popular game series will also include the likes of Bill Hader, who starred in 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs', Maya Rudolph from 'Bridesmaids' and Peter Dinklage, who's appeared in 'Game of Thrones' and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.
Reflecting on the announcement, John Cohen, producer of the film, said: "I'm extremely proud of this cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya, and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they're surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent - these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we're thrilled to have them all on board."
Dwight Caines, president of theatrical marketing for Sony Pictures, added: "Our filmmakers are cooking up a hilarious movie, and we know these fans can't wait to see how they're going to bring the Angry Birds' story to life on the big screen of movie theaters."
The 'Angry Birds' movie is written by Jon Vitti - who's best known for his work on 'The Simpsons' - and is set for release in July 2016.

Jeremy Renner and Matt Damon could appear together in Bourne movie

Jeremy Renner says there are plans for him and Matt Damon to appear together in a Bourne film.
In September, a report suggested Damon and director Paul Greengrass would reunite for their third Bourne film together - but Renner, 43, admits a new flick could either see him team up with Damon's character or face off against him.
Asked whether another Bourne flick was still on the horizon, Renner told The Daily Beast: "Absolutely! They made it more exciting when Paul [Greengrass] and Matt [Damon] got back into the mix, and finally cracked a story idea for them to come back into it.
"I think they'll be separate movies, and then the idea is for us to either team up, or be adversaries."
The next film in the Bourne franchise is set to be released on July 16, 2016.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Damon, 43, is keen to secure the lead role in Legendary Pictures' 'The Great Wall', which will explore the mysterious origins of China's historic structure.
Deadline reports that Damon is being lined up to play the central character in the film, which Legendary's Thomas Tull - the producer - has been attempting to get made for several years.

Danny Glover cast in Mr Pig

Danny Glover has been cast in 'Mr Pig'.
The English-language road movie set is in Mexico and focuses on the plight of a farm-worker - played by Glover, 68 - who travels from the US to Mexico accompanied by a pig, with whom he strikes up an unusual bond.
Looking forward to the new flick, producer Pablo Cruz said: "Mr Pig is a beautiful road movie, and a chance to talk about love for Mexico through the eyes of an American.
"It has a US appeal because of Danny and its English language. It obviously has a Mexican appeal because of Diego and other Mexican actors involved.
"And we're looking to Mundial to take it into international markets."
Maya Rudolph has also been cast in the film, although according to Variety, the role of the 42-year-old 'Bridesmaids' actress is still unknown.
Meanwhile, Glover has been cast alongside Alec Baldwin in sci-fi flick 'Andròn - The Black Labyrinth', which tells the story of a group of young men and women who awake in a dark maze, unaware of who or where they are.
What's more, the film will star Michelle Ryan, Jon Kortajarena and punk singer Skin.

Ben Affleck’s Batman ‘heavily influenced’ by Dark Knight Returns

Ben Affleck's Batman will be "heavily influenced" by Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Returns'.
The 42-year-old actor - who has assumed the role from Christian Bale - will appear alongside Henry Cavill in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and he's confirmed to MTV that director Zack Snyder has been using Miller's comic book run as a reference point for his character.
He said: "I will say that I think Zack [Snyder] was heavily influenced by that.
"I think everyone's heavily influenced by that... that's the seminal work. So, I don't think that there's any of these which have been made that haven't drawn from that book because it's so good.
"So, you know, I think if you're smart you steal from the best. That's why I'm going to rip David [Fincher, Gone Girl director] off from now on everywhere I go!"
Meanwhile, Affleck recently admitted to being unsurprised by the mixed reaction to the news he'd been cast as the new Batman.
The 'Argo' star said: "This is part and parcel of these movies now. There are a lot of active fans with a lot of opinions. To me, having been through a certain amount of that, it doesn't really... everyone's entitled to their opinion.
"I wouldn't have taken the part if I didn't trust my instincts in terms of the filmmaking."

Oscar Isaac prefers ‘old-school’ Star Wars films

Oscar Issac has criticised the modern tweaks George Lucas made to the original 'Star Wars' films.
The 35-year-old actor, who appears as a still-to-be-named character in the eagerly-awaited 'Star Wars: Episode VII', explained he prefers an "old-school" approach to film-making as opposed to the adjustments made by Lucas, 70.
He told the Huffington Post: "I'm most excited and, I know this seems nerdy, but I love the fact that [director] JJ Abrams is shooting it on film. And that's not just from an aesthetic standpoint but it's about how a movie is filmed. It changes so many things.
"I mean, I've had to do things over again because there was a hair in the gate, which is so old school. But it just feels better, and movies are all about feeling, so I think that's something that I'm so very excited about."
Isaac, who is best known for his lead role in 'Inside Llewyn Davis' in 2013, said as the creator of 'Star Wars', Lucas retained the right to make whatever changes he wishes.
He added: "There's a part of me that appreciates that he doesn't really care if people are upset about it. He decided to share it and he wants to go back and do stuff, whatever.
"But as a fan, I'd much rather go back and watch the old thing, because it's a product of the time. It's 'what did you do at the time with the things that you had?'."
'Star Wars Episode VII' is set to hit cinema screens on December 18, 2015.

Andre 3000 was scared to play Jimi Hendrix

Andre 3000 found it "scary" playing Jimi Hendrix.
The 'Hey Ya!' hitmaker - who is part of chart-topping duo Outkast - admitted he was nervous portraying the legendary musician in the biopic 'Jimi: All Is By My Side'.
Speaking at a press conference, Andre said: "It was scary. People ask me about what it was like trying to find the essence of Hendrix, and I don't know if I actually nailed it. I just know that John [Ridley; the film's writer and director] said, 'Whatever you do, just own it.'
"We have to be honest, we're doing trickery. I will never be Hendrix. It's my interpretation of it. I just tried my best. I can't say that I'm on a level with Hendrix."
The musician-and-actor drew on his own musical background to try and get a better understanding of Jimi - who died in 1970 at the age of just 27 - as man.
Andre - real name Andre Benjamin - said: "There are certain crossing points, in our careers, where I could agree. I know what it's like to be a nervous artist. I know what it's like to grow as an artist.
"I know what it's like to want full freedom in what you're doing. I know what it's like to want to fully throw yourself into music, and to look cool while you're doing it.
"There are points that we can agree on, but I don't know him, in that way. I know him as much as you know him. I probably just read a little bit more than you to get into the role."

Ben Affleck can handle being ‘fodder’

Ben Affleck can handle being "fodder" for critics, according to director David Fincher.
The 42-year-old actor worked with Fincher for 'Gone Girl' and the filmmaker and although he has attracted criticism for some of his roles and unwanted attention due to his romances with famous women, Fincher insists he dismisses it and uses it to improve his performances.
Fincher said: "Ben went through a period of his life where he was fodder; I guess he still is in a weird way. And you wonder, 'When will they let him off?'
"But it's really good to have somebody who understands how nutty that is. What it's like to live in a house where you have to draw the drapes, just in case [of photographers]."
Despite his huge fame, 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' star Affleck - who is married to Jennifer Garner - has no ego on set and is very generous with his co-stars and crew and is considerate to all the people he works with.
Speaking to The Guardian's Guide magazine, Fincher, 52, revealed: "He's very bright. And I think he sort of tempers how people react to him; he's cautious about that. He doesn't want to make anybody feel bad.
"It's fun to watch somebody who is so willing to sublimate themselves in order to make everything better - or more lubricated - and put him in a situation where he's got to speak for himself."
