Paul Feig to direct all-female Ghostbusters film

An all-female 'Ghostbusters' film has been confirmed by Paul Feig.
A third movie in the comedy franchise is being made and this time a host of "hilarious women" will be the protagonists, four-time Emmy nominee Feig has confirmed.
The movie connoisseur is most well known for his work on the hit 2011 comedy 'Bridesmaids' and has now been revealed as the filmmaker who will helm the franchise's return.
He made the revelation on Twitter on Wednesday (08.10.14), writing: "It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call. (sic)"
The filmmaker's message has thrilled fans of the cult movies, especially with the revelation that Katie Dippold - one of the writers behind NBC comedy 'Parks & Recreation' - is joining the 52 year old once again, following the success of 'The Heat' which they previously worked on together.
Although the cast for the three-quel has not yet been revealed, it has been hinted that Melissa McCarthy may be lined up for a role following her previous involvement with the writing duo.
And original Ghostbuster Bill Murray has also announced his backing for the 44-year-old star, making comments in Toronto last month about who he would like to see in the movie.
He told the Toronto Star newspaper: "Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she's funny. I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

Casey Affleck to produce and star in Boston Strong

Casey Affleck is working on a new film about the Boston Marathon bombing.
The 'Gone Baby Gone' actor is set to produce and star in the new film about the event in 2013.
Variety reports that the movie - entitled 'Boston Strong' - will be based on the book by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge, which has subsequently been adapted into a script by Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy, who wrote 'The Fighter'.
The plot of the new film focuses on the manhunt sparked by the 2013 bombing, which attracted worldwide media attention, while the movie itself will mark Affleck's first full producer credit since 'I'm Still Here', starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Affleck - the younger brother of Oscar-winning writer Ben, 42 - is currently filming 'The Finest Hours', which is based on another book written by Sherman.
However, he will next be seen on screen in Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar'.
In a recent interview, Nolan said his new movie is like "a mirror image" of 'Inception'.
Nolan, 44, explained the film was inspired by sci-fi movies from his childhood.
Speaking to Empire magazine, the director said: "It expands out in the way Inception contracts inwards, it's a very classically constructed movie, but the freshness of the narrative elements really enhance it.
"I liken it to the blockbusters I grew up with as a kid, family films in the best sense: edgy, incisive, challenging."

David Cronenberg says his films are comedies

David Cronenberg considers all of his films to be comedies.
The Canadian filmmaker is widely recognised as a pioneer within the horror movie genre, but Cronenberg says his movies shouldn't be taken too seriously.
He explained to Vulture that although his films don't follow the "traditional definition of a comedy", the 71-year-old considers there to be a "humorous aspect" to all of them.
Cronenberg said: "At Cannes, someone said, 'Have you ever considered making a comedy?'
"And I said, 'I've done nothing but'. Not maybe the traditional definition of a comedy, where it ends with a feel-good kind of thing, but for me, there is an observed and humorous aspect to the human condition and, of course, exploring the human condition is really what art is about.
"And I can't imagine not having humour be part of it. I just can't imagine it."
Some of the filmmaker's best-known projects include 'Scanners' and 'Videodrome', as well as more recent films like 'Cosmopolis'.
His latest film, 'Maps to the Stars', boasts an impressive cast that includes the likes of Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack and Robert Pattinson.
'Maps to the Stars' is in cinemas now.

Hans Zimmer won’t reveal Interstellar secrets

Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan won't reveal any details about 'Interstellar' before it is released because they want audiences to be shocked by what they see.
The composer has created the score for the highly-anticipated sci-fi movie but he is under strict instructions not to reveal any plot details, because the director is determined to avoid internet spoilers.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Zimmer said: "Both Chris and I feel that we now live in a world where you're being given everything on the internet, you're given all these little bits of information and you can't ever come at something and be amazed and surprised anymore and take it in as an experience. The idea of actually having an experience is nearly gone and we work really hard on these films we certainly put the hours in and we try and make it as great as possible and we don't want to dilute it beforehand."
The 57-year-old German musician has also delayed the release of the soundtrack because he wants people to hear his score for the first time in conjunction with the movie.
He explained: "The normal form is you release the soundtrack two weeks before the movie comes out but this time I'm not going to do that I'm going to release it two weeks after the movie comes out because I want the majority of people to hear the music for the first time with the film. I want them to go and hear it on big speakers, I don't want them to hear it on their little computer speakers. It's not why I get up in the morning."
Zimmer previously collaborated with Nolan on 'Inception' and 'The Dark Knight' trilogy and he considers the British movie maker to be one of the most impressive directors he has ever worked with.
He said: "Working on 'Interstellar' was the best experience I ever had on a film, so I suppose that would mean he's my favourite director to work with. It was so great I'm actually going to take some time off from movies now ... We just work really good together and we have very similar sensibilities and I think the most important thing is that we're very supportive of each other. You sit there in this weird vacuum of having to make this movie and having all this pressure on you and we just try and protect each other from getting it wrong."
Zimmer is performing his first-ever concerts in the UK at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo this Friday (10.10.14) and Saturday (11.10.14).
'Hans Zimmer Revealed' will feature music from his entire career including the scores from movies such as 'Gladiator', 'The Lion King', 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' and Nolan's Batman franchise.

Robert Downey Jr in talks to play Iron Man again

Robert Downey Jr. is in negotiations to play Iron Man again.
The 49-year-old actor has starred as Tony Stark and his superhero alter-ego in three title films and 'The Avengers' movie and he has revealed he's in talks to reprise the role again.
During an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' yesterday (07.10.14), Downey was asked if there are plans for 'Iron Man 4', to which he replied: "I know there are going to be a bunch more Marvel movies and they have big ideas of how to do it best and [they're] in the middle of negotiation."
When he was interviewed on the 'Late Show with David Letterman' on Tuesday evening the Hollywood star apparently closed the door on their being an 'Iron Man 4' but admitted the character would be back on screen.
He said: "There [are] no plans for an 'Iron Man 4'."
When he was pressed further by the host, who asked why the film wasn't in the works, he explained: "That's a valid question. Like it hasn't made enough money? Yeah, I guess they have too much money or something. There is no script for 'Iron Man 4'. They do have a plan and I think they're going to announce it [soon]. I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen."

Ray Winstone ‘did not click’ with Jack Nicholson

Ray Winstone and Jack Nicholson clashed on the set of 'The Departed'.
The 57-year-old Brit admits he "did not click" with Nicholson, 77, while filming the 2006 gangster movie, which was directed by Martin Scorsese and also starred Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Speaking at a Bafta Life in Pictures event, Winstone explained: "Me and Jack did not seem to get on too well. Maybe he was going through a funny time."
He added: "Everyone else loves him to death - I just wanted him to be a great guy. We just did not click."
In the film, which won four Oscars, including Best Picture, the London-born star played a sidekick to Nicholson's crime boss.
But in a recent interview, Winstone insisted he's just a "dad", not the "hardman" he's often perceived to be by others.
He explained: "People write things like I'm a hardman, they just write things like that.
"I'm not like that - I'm a dad. I've got three daughters. I look after my family and that's that. I'm not a hardman."
The actor admits to loving spending time with his daughters - rapper-and-model Lois, actress Jaime and teenager Ellie - as well as his wife of 35 years, Elaine.

Warner Bros scraps plans to make The Ridiculous Six

Warner Bros has decided against making 'The Ridiculous Six' with Adam Sandler.
The move is not thought to be linked to the comedian's recent agreement to make four new films for Netflix, but it is likely to have been influenced by the poor performance of Sandler's 2014 film 'Blended'.
The romantic comedy starring Sandler, 48, and Drew Barrymore, 39, received unfavourable reviews and also failed to impress at the box office.
The Hollywood Reporter says this, allied to the failure of Seth MacFarlane's 'A Million Ways to Die in the West', have concerned the studio enough for it to withdraw its support for the proposed Western comedy.
The move represents another major setback for 'The Ridiculous Six', which was originally pitched to Sony in 2012 and then Paramount before it, too, decided against making the film.
Meanwhile, the 'Happy Gilmore' actor recently signed a deal with the streaming service NetFlix to both produce and star in four films, which will only be available to view on the website.
Sandler said in a statement: "When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said 'yes' for one reason and one reason only... Netflix rhymes with 'wet chicks'. Let the streaming begin!"
