Sam Mendes has ‘unfinished business’ with SPECTRE

'SPECTRE' represents "unfinished business" for director Sam Mendes.
The 49-year-old film-maker was responsible for the 2012 hit 'Skyfall', and having taken time off to reflect on the 23rd film in the Bond franchise, Sam concluded that he wanted to develop some of the characters he helped create.
Sam explained: "I felt an attachment to the characters that we created in 'Skyfall'. I felt like there was unfinished business, and that there was a lot more I could do with them once I'd kind of stepped aside and had some time off."
Speaking about the plot of the eagerly awaited new movie, Sam said he was looking forward to filming in a broader range of locations, which will include London, Rome, Mexico City, Tangier and Erfoud in Morocco, and Sölden, Obertilliach and Lake Altausee in Austria.
He told the BBC: "A lot of the last movie was shot in and around London, which I loved, but there's a limited amount of stuff you can shoot in London, and I feel this has more mischief in it, perhaps, a little bit more of the unexpected.
"But it also does relate back to 'Skyfall' in many ways."
At an event at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, South East England, earlier today (04.12.14), Sam announced 'SPECTRE' will be released on November 6, 2015.

Ridley Scott could still direct Blade Runner sequel

Ridley Scott has reopened the possibility of directing the 'Blade Runner' sequel.
The 77-year-old movie-maker was responsible for the first film in 1982 and although he's previously said he won't be returning to the role for 'Blade Runner 2', he now appears to have performed a U-turn.
He said: "I don't know about not directing 'Blade Runner 2' yet."
Ridley has been coy about the plot of the new film, but has revealed that he and writer Hampton Fancher have already produced a storyline.
The English director told Yahoo: "It's a tricky one because it's so personal. The script is very, very good. Very good. I wouldn't know what sort of director we'd want. It's a hard one to track because it's a very personal piece of my work.
"We talked at length about what it could be, and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline, and it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one."
He also confirmed Harrison Ford, 72 - who starred in the original - will be appearing in the sequel, but told fans not to expect to see him until late in the movie.
Ridley - whose new film 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' is out this month - explained: "Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him; he comes in in the third act."

Unbroken star Miyavi threw up in front of Angelina Jolie

'Unbroken' star Miyavi threw up in front of Angelina Jolie.
The movie - which is set in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during World War II - was the musician's first Hollywood film, and he admitted the unfortunate incident occurred because he was so nervous about shooting his scenes as torturous sergeant, Matsuhiro Watanabe.
The 33-year-old star admitted: "I literally threw up."
Although the 39-year-old actress - who directed the film - was on hand to comfort the rocker by urging him to calm down, he confessed it didn't ease his anxiety and he ended up vomiting again after returning to the film's set.
He told New York Post newspaper: "But Angie knows how actors feel. She said, 'Just be yourself. Accept yourself.' I got back to the set . . . and I threw up again."
The film follows the story of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini, played by Jack O'Connell, who was conscripted into the army before being captured in Japan, and Miyavi previously said it was difficult to deal with the harrowing scenes because it's such an upsetting part of his country's history.
He explained: "I didn't want to be just a bad guy. I wanted to put humanity in this role. [Matsuhiro] was both crazy and sadistic, but also weak and traumatised.
"It's a story that is still painful for my country and after filming some of the more violent scenes, I couldn't stop crying."

Joel Edgerton wore ‘solid gold thong’ under his costume

Joel Edgerton wore a "solid gold thong" underneath his 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' costume.
The 40-year-old actor stars as Ramses in the upcoming action-adventure-drama and his co-star Christian Bale, who stars as his enemy Moses, has revealed he got a bit carried away with his costume.
Bale said: "He always wore gold, he had this magnificent gold skirt. He insisted on having gold on every inch of his skin. He actually had [costume designer] Janty Yates build him a solid gold thong that he wore underneath. That's really an inspiration - he really gets into his role."
The film sees Moses rise up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses, setting thousands of slaves on a journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying deadly plagues and director Ridley Scott has joked their rivalry stemmed from Moses' envy.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies, he laughed: "He [Ramses] loved his golden underpants, golden slippers, jockstrap - he just loved it. Moses was quite jealous. He was in homespun and sandals."
Meanwhile, Bale also revealed it took a lot of preparation to transform himself into Moses after starring as overweight loan-shark Irving Rosenfeld in 'American Hustle'.
He explained: "The iconic visuals of Moses are that he's very hairy and very skinny. I was the opposite.
"Unfortunately, I was coming from a film called 'American Hustle', where I was shaped more like Santa Claus. I had the girth of about three men."

Peter Jackson relieved to complete The Hobbit

Peter Jackson is looking forward to sitting on a beach having completed 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies'.
The award-winning director admits he's keen to escape the stresses that come with trying to bring the novels of J. R. R. Tolkien to the big screen.
Peter, 53, admits he felt a pressure to do justice to the iconic novels, but he explained: "I don't have those responsibilities any more. I can go to the beach.
"But I mean, any film has responsibilities because you're spending money that's not yours, and so you've got to be responsible for their view."
Peter also admitted he's been desperate to entertain fans with 'The Hobbit' trilogy.
He said: "I also feel very responsible for the fact that you're trying to entertain people and for me, a failure is to make a film that people go to and pay their money to go see and they don't like.
"So from that point of view, I'm sure that there are people who have seen these films and they don't like them. But the majority of people have gone and enjoyed them, which, for me, is why we do what we do."
What's more, Peter explained that 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' will be the last Tolkien story he turns into a film, because the author's other work is legally protected.

Andrew Scott ‘to star in Bond 24’

Andrew Scott is to play a villain in the new Bond movie.
The 'Sherlock' star has been hand-picked for the part after film bosses, including director Sam Mendes, were wowed by his performances in the popular BBC show, which also stars Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch.
An insider explained: "Andrew was hand-picked for a role in the new Bond movie after film bosses loved his star turn in 'Sherlock'.
"Casting directors thought he was perfect to play a baddie and they wanted to use his existing 'Sherlock' profile - and amp it up to the next level."
The source told the Daily Mirror newspaper that the 38-year-old Irish actor thinks his casting could help ease his transition into Hollywood.
The insider said: "Andrew is hoping the move will see him leap from TV to the big screen, where he can eventually divide his time between London and LA. He knows this is his big break."
Andrew will star in the new movie - which is set to be released in October 2015 - alongside the returning Daniel Craig and Ben Whishaw.
The cast and official title of the film, currently known as 'Bond 24', will be officially announced tomorrow (04.12.14).

Sir Ian McKellen amazed by Gandalf’s longevity

Sir Ian McKellen is amazed he's still starring as Gandalf in 2014.
The award-winning actor first played the iconic role in the 'Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' in 2001 and admits he never envisioned he'd be appearing as Gandalf 13 years later, in 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies'.
Speaking at the London press conference of the Peter Jackson-directed film yesterday (02.12.14), Sir Ian reflected: "I said goodbye to Gandalf in 2000 when I left New Zealand [where the movie was filmed]. Well, here we are 2014, it goes on and on and on. And it has been the blessing of our professional lives, like all of the actors, we think we are so lucky.
"There's nothing about luck in the making of the films, of course, that's the planning, but the chance that we were selected."
Sir Ian, 75, also said he's delighted the 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Hobbit' films, based on the books by J. R. R Tolieken, have been embraced by so many children.
He reflected: "Some of our fans weren't born in the last century when we started filming. Not born! Our work is part of their lives.
"To have been involved in films that are now classics is overwhelming."

Dwayne Johnson in talks to star in Disney’s Moana

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is in talks to star in new Disney movie 'Moana'.
The 42-year-old actor is being lined up to appear in the much-anticipated new Disney film, which will tell the story of an adventurous teenager who sets out on an impossible-looking mission to fulfill her ancestors' quest.
Dwayne - who's previously starred in 'Pain & Gain' and the 'Fast & Furious' franchise - is wanted to voice the part of a demi-god known as Maui, Empire reports.
In the film, Dwayne's proposed character joins Moana as she sets out on her mission to find a fabled island.
The pair must tackle an unenviable array of challenges, including a giant see creature, as they try to reach their end destination.
The new Disney animation is being led by Ron Clements and John Musker, the directors who were responsible for 'Aladdin', 'The Princess And The Frog' and 'The Little Mermaid'.
However, before possibly appearing in 'Moana', Dwayne will star in 'Furious 7', the latest film in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise.
The film, which is set for release in April, will also feature Vin Diesel and will mark the final on-screen appearance of Paul Walker, who died in a car accident on November 30, 2013.
Vin, 47, has previewed the film, saying: "We all went above and beyond to make Pablo [Walker's nickname] proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come."

Stephen Hawking wants to play a Bond villain

Stephen Hawking wants to play a Bond villain.
The 72-year-old scientist and author - who has made a number of on-screen cameos in the past - has confessed his "ideal" role would be playing "a baddie in a James Bond film".
The wheelchair-bound physicist believes his computerised voice - through which he has communicated since becoming almost entirely paralysed by motor neuron disease - makes him perfect for the part.
He told Wired magazine: "My ideal role would be a baddie in a James Bond film.
"I think the wheelchair and the computer voice would fit the part."
Hawking - who is the subject of the upcoming biopic 'The Theory of Everything' starring Eddie Redmayne - appeared in 'Monty Python Live (Mostly): One Down, Five To Go' over the summer while the comedy troupe performed at the O2 Arena in London.
Monty Python star Eric Idle said it was a "lovely" experience starring alongside Hawking in the show.
He told Rolling Stone: "In some of the outtakes, I'm playing [Hawking] the 'Galaxy Song' and I keep making him smile; it's lovely.
"It's not easy to make him smile because he doesn't have much range of movement, but I see his mouth go up and it's just great."
