Jennifer Aniston’s ‘liberating’ Cake role

Jennifer Aniston found going make-up free for 'Cake' "liberating".
The 46-year-old actress usually has to pay careful attention to the way she looks so she enjoyed getting the chance to not worry about her appearance in the movie - in which she plays Claire Simmons, who is recovering from an accident who becomes obsessed by the suicide of another woman in her chronic pain support group - because it was important not to "glamorize" the role.
She said: "This was not the kind of character you want to glamorize in any way.
"In my own life I've spent a lot of time dealing with having to pay attention to the way I dress and look, so playing Claire was beyond liberating in every way.
"Apart from make-up used to apply the scars, the only make-up I wore was when they were adding dark circles to my eyes."
Jennifer admits the movie is the "role of a lifetime" for her but she fought hard to get the part.
She told Total Film magazine: "It's the role of a lifetime. 'Cake' is the kind of film I've dreamed of doing for many years but I never really found a project like this until now.
"As soon as I read it, I knew I wanted to play Claire.
"I had to fight to get the part. I begged and begged [director] Daniel Barnz to give it to me because I knew I could do it and tap into all of Claire's different sides - her adventurous and sarcastic side as well as her anger and depression.
"For Daniel, it was a matter of convincing him that I was prepared to go all the way in this kind of role."

J.J. Abrams confirms some Star Wars rumours are true

J.J. Abrams says some of the rumours surrounding 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' are true.
The 48-year-old director said everyone involved with the film has done their best to kept the script a closely-guarded secret, but confesses some of the speculation surrounding the movie is accurate.
He shared: "We did the best we can to preserve the story for the audience, but it doesn't always work.
"There are a ton of rumours - some true, some false. But I'm grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie.
"I know what it feels like, as an enormous Star Wars fan myself."
Abrams also said he thoroughly enjoyed making the film, despite its many challenges.
He told BBC News: "I can't wait for you to see it. It's been a blast working on this and luckily we have an incredible post-production team.
"There are always challenges as you go but it's been a complete kick to put this together."
Meanwhile, Abrams is developing a biopic of inventor Thomas Edison.
The director has joined forces with Paramount to create a movie about the legendary inventor, who is to be depicted as a rugged eccentric genius, TheWrap reports.

Stacey Solomon stars in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water

Stacey Solomon is to voice a seagull in the UK version of 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water'.
The 25-year-old singer has secured a part in the movie alongside comedian Alan Carr and YouTube sensations Joe Sugg (Thatcher Joe) and Caspar Lee, who have all re-voiced comedy characters exclusively for the UK audience.
Mum-of-two Stacey, 25, revealed her children are both fans of the iconic cartoon, but added "knowing that millions of people are going to watch it actually scares the life out of me".
Meanwhile, Alan revealed his love of the popular cartoon character, revealing: "They said, 'Do you want to be the voice of a seagull?' You think, 'Is that an insult or a compliment?' I don't know."
The new movie also sees fellow British actor and comedian Matt Berry appear in the role of Bubbles the Dolphin, while Hollywood star Antonio Banderas plays the part of Burger-Beard the Pirate.
'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water' is based on the highly-acclaimed Nickelodeon TV series and sees SpongeBob Squarepants - the world's favourite sea-dwelling invertebrate - come ashore for his most heroic adventure to date.
The movie, which is produced by Paul Tibbitt and Mary Parent, has already grossed more than $160 million worldwide.

Jamie Dornan previews ‘different’ screen role

Jamie Dornan next on-screen role is "as different as you can get" from 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The 32-year-old star - who recently appeared alongside Dakota Johnson in the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed film - has been cast in a movie about the Siege of Jadotville, which is based on real-life events during the civil war in the Belgian Congo.
Jamie - who's set to play an officer leading a United Nations (UN) Irish army unit that went to the country in 1961 - said: "It's not Christian Grey in uniform."
The plot centres on how an outnumbered Irish unit, led by Dornan's character, faced 3,000 troops who were loyal to the prime minister.
Jamie told the Daily Mail newspaper: "There was unrest and the officer and his men were fighting French and Belgian mercenaries.
"The UN wouldn't send more ammunition and the film's about how these men coped. It's as different as you can get from Fifty Shades."
Meanwhile, Jamie revealed recently that he intends to "flee the country" after he finishes promoting 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The actor - who plays the lead character of Christian Grey in the erotic film - said: "I am fleeing the country. I am certainly not going to stand in Leicester Square without my shirt, asking people if they enjoyed the movie! I am keeping a low profile."

Jennifer Saunders wrote Absolutely Fabulous as a bet

Jennifer Saunders wrote the 'Absolutely Fabulous' movie as a bet.
The 56-year-old comedian has already written a first draft of the eagerly-awaited film based on the hit BBC TV series and has revealed she was determined to get the movie made in order to win a bet with comedy partner Dawn French.
She explained: "Did I tell you that I'd had a bet with Dawn that I would have to pay her £10,000 if I didn't produce [the film] by the end of the year?
"We had a live radio show at the end of [last] year so I produced a first draft by [then]! I literally vomited it out. On New Year's Eve it came out!"
Saunders - who revealed actress Rebel Wilson will star and that parts of the film will be set in the French Riviera - also said she's still trying to fine-tune aspects of the script.
She told 'The Jonathan Ross Show': "There's some stuff I like, some stuff I've cut out. It'll be an ongoing process until it's actually finished."
Saunders has already confirmed that the likes of Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha and June Whitfield will all reprise their roles for the film.

Anne Hathaway set for The Burning Woman

Anne Hathaway is set to star in 'The Burning Woman'.
The 32-year-old actress reportedly signed up to the project, which is being produced by Ridley Scott's company Scott Free, after reading the script by Brad Ingelsby, who is said to have penned it with the raven-haired star in mind as the leading character, sources told Deadline.
The drama/thriller movie is based on an original idea by the scriptwriter and tells the story of a 32-year-old woman who is left devastated when her teenage daughter goes missing and as a result, she is left to bring up her daughter's son on her own.
The film will capture the 11 years after her child goes missing up to the discovery of the truth of what happened.
Producers Ridley, Michael Schaefer and Michael Pruss are now on the hunt for a director before looking for a distributor.
Hathaway was recently seen in sci-fi movie 'Interstellar' alongside ‎Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain and Sir Michael Caine, and she looks set to be busy this year as she is to star in a one-woman show, 'Grounded', in New York on April 7.
The stunning actress also recently appeared in 2012 musical movie 'Les Miserables', for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

Margot Robbie says Will Smith is ‘everything you’d expect and more’

Margot Robbie says working with Will Smith was "everything you can imagine, and more".
The 24-year-old Australian actress stars alongside the Hollywood icon in 'Focus' and admits working with Will fulfilled all of her expectations, even though she didn't known about his role in 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'.
She recalled: "Will is everything you can imagine, and more - but I'd actually never heard of The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.
"He was... not offended, but maybe a little surprised I didn't know who Jazzy Jeff was. I didn't understand a lot of the references, which of course the crew were all over. I said his name wrong, I called him Jazzy Jam or something. Will said, 'Are you serious?' I had no idea what he was talking about. I think he thought I was a lost cause."
And Margot - who lives in London and spends lots of her professional time in the US - says she still enjoys her home comforts.
She told ShortList magazine: "I live in London so I get people to bring over Dilmah tea, and Tim Tams, which my housemate assures me are similar to Penguins. We have lots of arguments over what is better, and they're yet to be resolved."

Lily Aldridge wants role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Lily Aldridge is a "huge Star Wars nerd".
The 29-year-old model, who starred in the 50th anniversary issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine, has revealed she's desperate to star in the much-anticipated 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and has volunteered herself to play a Stormtrooper.
In an Instagram video, taken from the Victoria's Secret Swim Special, Lily says: "I wanna be in the new movies, in the background, as a Stormtrooper. I don't care!"
Earlier this month, meanwhile, director J.J. Abrams said he went "old school" when making 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'.
Abrams said that although he had cutting-edge software and effects available to him when making the highly-anticipated film, there were times when he reverted to "old school" methods.
He shared: "I feel like the beauty of this age of filmmaking is that there are more tools at your disposal but it doesn't meant that any of these new tools are automatically the right tools. And there are a lot of situations where we went very much old school and in fact used CG more to remove things than to add things."
The 48-year-old director said he tried to limit the use of special effects where possible.
He explained: "It was very important that we build as many sets as we could and that the film have a tangible, sort of authentic quality that you believed that these things were actually happening in a real space with real sunlight, if it was an exterior scene, or if we could build a big portion of a scene and not have anything be blue screen, do it where we could. It was a very important piece of work."

Will Smith cast in Bounty

Will Smith has been cast in 'Bounty'.
The 46-year-old star, who recently featured alongside Australian actress Margot Robbie in 'Focus', has agreed to appear in the action-thriller set in Boston.
'Bounty' centres on a man - played by Smith - who is wrongly convicted of murder, but escapes from prison in a bid to prove his own innocence, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
However, his task becomes virtually impossible when the widow of the man he is accused of killing puts a $10 million bounty on his head.
The casting comes shortly after Will confessed he's come to see his career in a different light following the negative reaction to the 2013 sci-fi film 'After Earth', in which he appeared alongside his son Jaden.
He explained: "I was a guy who, when I was fifteen my girlfriend cheated on me, and I decided that if I was number one, no woman would ever cheat on me.
"All I have to do is make sure that no one's ever better than me and I'll have the love that my heart yearns for.
"And I never released that and moved into a mature way of looking at the world and my artistry and love until the failure of After Earth, when I had to accept that it's not a good source of creation."
