Rebel Wilson gets offered ‘two types of acting roles’

Rebel Wilson only gets offered "two types" of acting jobs.
The 29-year-old performer, who starred in the 2011 romantic comedy film 'Bridesmaids', has revealed she's only offered roles that fit into two distinct categories: female-driven comedies and "the boys' club".
The Australian actress shared: "How I see it is, I do two types of job: dream jobs like female-driven comedies and the other job which is basically the boys' club. I have done three big movies with men - these are talented, strong-minded males, but you have to find a way to work that system.
"You aren't being paid much and you start at a disadvantage with the script. Usually, you don't have any cool jokes and you're there to support the male actor."
However, Rebel - who appeared in 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb' last year - says she's determined to make a success of such roles.
The actress told the new issue of ELLE magazine: "Those male roles are 90 percent written and formed by the time the filming starts but the female roles are only 20 percent there. It's unfair, but I love being funny so I improve the role, work with the limited parameters and opportunities and maximise them.
"If you are a woman in that situation you work harder, sharpen your skills more; you need to be two or three times as good as the guys. I just go in there and try and crush it."

Scott Eastwood didn’t ride a bull until after The Longest Ride

Scott Eastwood didn't ride a bull until after filming 'The Longest Ride'.
The 29-year-old actor stars as former bull-riding champion Luke Collins in the new film, but has revealed he didn't get on an actual bull until after the cameras stopped filming.
Speaking at a New York screening of the film, Scott revealed: "I actually rode a bull after the movie. What an idiot, right?
"I didn't feel comfortable looking these guys in the face the whole time they're buckin' bulls and then going and promoting a movie and saying that I knew what it was about.
"So I went up with my buddies and I didn't get killed."
Scott also admitted he was inspired by his 84-year-old father Clint, who is famous for his work in Western films like 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'.
According to the New York Post newspaper, he said: "My dad, he's inspired me since I was a little kid. Sitting there as a kid watching 'Clint Eastwood Night' on TNT ... this guy knows what he's doing."
Later, he added: "That's funny that I played a cowboy. I don't know how that sort of happened."

Emily Blunt to star in Animal Crackers with husband John Krasinski

Emily Blunt has teamed up with her husband John Krasinski for 'Animal Crackers'.
The 'Into The Woods' actress and her 35-year-old hubby will both lend their voices to the new cartoon.
The couple - who have a 13-month-old daughter, Hazel, together - have joined the star studded cast alongside Ian McKellen, Danny DeVito and Sylvester Stallone.
Emily, 32, and 'The Office' star will play on-screen couple Zoe and Owen Huntington who inherit a circus and find themselves transformed into various creatures after consuming animal-shaped biscuits.
News the pair were to appear in the animation was announced by the film's co-directors Scott Christain Sava and Tony Bancroft, who believe the couple are perfect for the roles.
Sava told Screen International: "When Emily and John came in and performed their first scenes of the movie together... It was magic.
"I can think of no other way of describing what they brought to the film. We had to literally go back and re-storyboard the sequences because they took us to places we never dreamed. Owen and Zoe came to life when Emily and John spoke."
Harvey Fierstein, Patrick Warburton, Tara Strong and Lydia Taylor also star in the movie which is set to hit cinemas next year.

Lea Seydoux says Spectre casting felt ‘like a dream’

Lea Seydoux says her casting in 'Spectre' felt "like a dream".
The 29-year-old French actress has revealed she was invited to star alongside Daniel Craig in the eagerly-awaited new Bond movie during a lunchtime conversation with director Sam Mendes, who also helmed the 2012 hit 'Skyfall'.
She recalled: "Sam invited me for lunch and said, 'Do you want to be part of the film?' And I said yes.
"But for me it wasn't really real. I felt I was in a dream. So I was, 'Yeah ... I mean, yes'."
Lea also claimed to be in the dark about specific aspects of the plot, which is a closely-guarded secret among people connected to the film.
She told ITV's 'Lorraine': "I like that it's a question. They'll see, you'll see. I mean, even me I haven't seen anything."
Meanwhile, 'Spectre' producer Michael G Wilson recently denied that the script was significantly changed to secure incentives in Mexico.
The producer conceded there were incentives linked to 'Spectre', but insisted they weren't anything unusual in the film industry.
He explained: "Everywhere we go we have incentives.
"Sometimes they're taxes; sometimes they're other kind of incentives. You can get co-operation, you can get things you would usually pay for for free and all that."

Simon Pegg Is ‘barely able to talk’ due to Star Trek pressure

Simon Pegg feels under such pressure writing 'Star Trek 3' he's "barely able to speak".
The 45-year-old star is co-writing the much-anticipated new sci-fi movie and has joked that the strain of the job is taking its toll.
Speaking to Magic Radio at the Jameson Empire Awards 2015, he quipped: "It's enormous pressure, I'm barely able to speak right now I'm so terrified, but no it's good, it's going well.
"You know we're working at it hard and I'm writing with a guy [Doug Jung], he's in LA I'm here. I was there last week, writing with him, he's going to come here next week and we'll just keep plugging away at it and hopefully come up with something that the fans like, everybody likes, not just the fans."
Meanwhile, Simon denied Idris Elba is going to appear in the new movie as a Klingon, but admitted he may feature in some capacity.
He said: "Idris, I heard there's a rumour he's been spoken to about stuff, so he may be in the film but he won't be a Klingon."
It's been widely reported that Idris and 'Breaking Bad' star Bryan Cranston have been in talks about playing the role of a villain.

Andy Serkis reveals Star Wars plot to wife

Andy Serkis has revealed the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' plot to his wife.
The 50-year-old actor has been sworn to secrecy over the upcoming blockbuster, but admitted his wife knows everything about the film because he practices his lines with her.
Questioned on whether he had let any plot details slip, he said: "Well obviously my wife, Lorraine, you know, I'm not averse to telling her everything."
When asked if he reads through his script with his actress wife Lorraine Ashbourne - who he has children Ruby, Sonny and Louis with - he continued: "Oh yes, oh no, no, she knows the whole thing so if you really want to find out I can point you in her direction."
Even the star's role in the movie - which has the full title 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens' - remains a mystery, although he insisted it has been easy to keep it a secret because he hasn't been able to give any information away about the film.
Speaking to Magic Radio at the Jameson Empire Awards 2015 - where he picked up the Best Actor accolade - he explained: "I actually can't talk about anything so it's very easy [to keep it a secret]. I mean it's fantastic the effort that people go to to try and squeeze out just a little nugget but I, you know, what can I do, it's embargo. I think it's better for that, it's more exciting."

Harvey Weinstein says he’s ‘lucky’ to have avoided anti-Semitism

Harvey Weinstein thinks he's "lucky" to have avoided anti-Semitic abuse.
The 63-year-old producer says he's never experienced any racist abuse personally, but his father Max - who served as a sergeant in World War II - encountered it at various points through his life.
He told the New York Post newspaper: "I'm very lucky that way. My dad did, both in the Army and afterwards, so I can only identify and I feel strongly through him.
"I've had a charmed life that way, but I'm still outraged by what's going on. And we need to know and let the people who are doing those things know they can't get away with it."
The remarks come shortly after the movie producer called on people to organise "like the mafia" in the fight against anti-Semitism.
Speaking last week, he said: "There is a quote from Kurt Vonnegut's book 'The Sirens of Titan,' and it always was the motto of Miramax and now The Weinstein Co., and it says, 'Good can triumph over evil if the angels are as organised as the Mafia'.
"Unfortunately, we have to get as organised as the mafia. We can't just take it anymore. We just can't take these things. There's got to be a way to fight back."

Daniel Craig says Spectre is like ‘a magician’s trick’

Daniel Craig has likened the script for 'Spectre' to a magician's trick.
The 47-year-old actor, who is reprising the role of James Bond in the eagerly-awaited new movie, is remaining tight-lipped on rumours surrounding the plot, but says he's happy for certain aspects of the film to remain "a bit sacred".
Asked if he can reveal any details of the storyline, Daniel said: "It's becomes a joke. People want to ask me what the plot is about and I'm like, 'I can't answer the question'.
"It's like when a magician does a trick and they're like, 'I'm not going to show you how it works'.
"I like that, keeping it a bit sacred ... you know, wait and see until the movie comes out."
Daniel, who starred as Bond in 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace', also said the most-recent Bond movie - the Sam Mendes-directed 'Skyfall' - marked an important shift for the Bond franchise.
He told ITV's 'Lorraine': "What happened in the last movie was a big kick, bringing Sam in and we took the movie in a different direction.
"We kind of created a language that was different from the other two, but that was faithful to Bond [but] that was kind of new."

Hugh Jackman quits as Wolverine?

Hugh Jackman has hinted that a third 'Wolverine' movie will be his last.
The 46-year-old actor took to his Instagram account to share a photograph of his hands featuring the comic book character's metal claws which he captioned: "WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ"
The news he is to quit playing Wolverine follows reports that Jackman - who also portrays the character in the 'X-Men' franchise - and director James Mangold were in talks to produce a third solo movie focussing on the superhero set for a 2017 release.
The star - who has played the Marvel character since 2000 - also recently refused to reveal whether he had taken on a part in 'X-Men: Apocalypse' which is due to start filming this year but admitted he had been in discussions to appear in the movie.
He said: "There's still a lot unknown about that, actually.
"I have been speaking to the guys and I'm not at liberty to say exactly what's going on, [but] there are some very exciting things about integrating the whole X-Men world, including the Wolverine movie.
"There are some really cool things going on."
Jackman has starred in the franchise alongside James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence and previously confessed he would never take the role "for granted".
He explained: "I love the character, I love the series, I would never take it for granted or do it for the hell of it."
