Christoph Waltz has denied he will play Blofeld in 'Spectre'.
The Oscar-winning actor has been cast as a baddie - with the name Franz Oberhauser - in the eagerly-awaited new James Bond movie but has dismissed speculation that his character's alter ego is actually the iconic cat-stroking villain Blofeld, who's appeared in several earlier films.
Asked about the speculation, Christoph said: "That is absolutely untrue. That rumour started on the internet, and the internet is a pest. The name of my character is Franz Oberhauser."
The 58-year-old star also revealed he hesitated before accepting the role in the Sam Mendes-directed movie, which is set to open later this year.
He told GQ magazine: "I did, yes (think twice). I always hesitate ... You ask yourself, hang on: what James Bond are we talking about?
"The thing about Spectre is that it is not the work of hack writers.
"It does not have a hack director. The actors are not hams. The action sequences in Mexico are extravagant to say the least.
"The scenes in Austria are traditional Bond action in the snow. These films with Daniel Craig have shifted the tone. They don't depend on a set formula that forces actors simply to go through the motions."

Poppy Delevingne has landed a role in 'Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur'.
The older sister of model and actress Cara Delevingne has reportedly been cast in the Warner Bros. movie, which is being directed by Guy Ritchie, alongside A-list stars Charlie Hunnam, who will play King Arthur, and Jude Law.
A source confirmed: "It's a massive role for Poppy. She's becoming as popular as Cara -- this will be her breakthrough role."
The 28-year-old beauty will reportedly appear as the mother of King Arthur, named Igraine, who will have an on-screen romance with Uther Pendragon, played by Eric Bana.
The star-studded movie is set to be released next summer after it began shooting last month, and Poppy is "thrilled" to have landed the role, having longed to follow in her sibling's footsteps into film for a "while".
The movie insider told The Sun newspaper: "It's a big opportunity for Poppy and she's thrilled to have proved her worth on her own merit.
"She's not just about fashion and she's longed for a blockbuster role for a while now."
Her 22-year-old sister Cara gained a major role in 'The Face of an Angel' last year and has since secured several parts in 'Pan', 'Suicide Squad' and 'Paper Towns', although the source insisted it was Poppy's talent which won her the part, and not her family relations.
They added: "Guy thought she was right for the part from the get go apparently. She's got the right look and he knew she was a proper grafter."

Rebel Wilson doesn't like rehearsing.
The 29-year-old actress, who is known for her spontaneous improvised lines in her movies, has admitted she's not one to redo takes over and over again because she likes to get the job done and get out of the studio in order to keep things fun.
She explained: "I hate people who do a lot of takes. I like to nail it and then go home. I like to crush it in, like, two takes ... I like keeping it fresh, I don't like rehearsing, I just like coming in and doing it, but different people have different ways of working and because it's collaborative you have to work with how they like it."
Although she doesn't like to spend hours rehearsing in front of a camera in order to get the perfect scene, the 'Bridesmaids' star will always know her script off by heart and then add her own little spins in her performance to spice things up a little.
She told Australia's Elle magazine"Sometimes I make jokes like, 'I don't even read the script.' But I do. I'm always professional and know the scenes. I always come prepared but I like to have fun on the set and like working with actors who are really good improvisers as well.
"Or really good reactors - if they're not necessarily comedians but they can be in the scene with you and come up with funny stuff, it really shows on the screen because it looks very spontaneous."

Daniel Craig has undergone surgery on his knee.
The 47-year-old actor sustained the injury while filming scenes for the latest James Bond movie 'Spectre', and it's been confirmed he used a scheduled break to undergo the "minor procedure" in New York.
A spokesperson denied the actor missed any filming to have the operation, saying: "During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood [Studios]."
Craig's knee problems occurred on set and are apparently the result of his intense approach to the film's action scenes.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "His body has taken a hell of a battering while filming Bond, because he really throws himself wholeheartedly into a very demanding part.
"He took the opportunity to have this surgery done while there was a chance to film scenes in which he was not needed.
"He expects to be back to meet his schedule and we are confident he will be fully fit again and there will be no delays."
The Sam Mendes-directed 'Spectre' will mark the actor's fourth appearance as Bond and is scheduled for release in November 2015.

Naomi Watts says Nicole Kidman helped her to believe in herself.
The 'While We're Young' star admits she couldn't have carved out a successful career in Hollywood without the support of her best friend.
She said: "I was lucky that Nicole Kidman was always there to support me, console me, keep my spirits up and help me believe in myself. She's been such a good friend over the years."
The 46-year-old beauty, who has sons Alexander, seven, and Samuel, six, with long-term partner Liev Schreiber, admits she is reluctant to take on traumatic roles these days because she is so happy in her personal life.
She said: "Early in my career I was drawn to darker material. But now I have so much joy in my family life that I don't want to spoil that mood.
"I feel such a warmth with Liev and the boys. I look forward to everything now. I've always had a happy nature, it was just a matter of getting to a place where I could let that side take charge again.
"Me and my men have such fun together."
But the Australian star admits she will never forget how it felt to be a struggling actress and doesn't take her success for granted.
She told US' OK! magazine: "It was scary trying to find work and having no money and no medical insurance. I had very few friends and would spend days alone, sitting in cafes and feeling miserable.
"Even when I started becoming famous, I never forgot what it felt like to worry about making ends meet."

James Corden is putting his acting career on hold to focus on 'The Late Late Show'.
The 'Into The Woods' star took the helm of the US talk show from Craig Ferguson in March and is taking a break from his other ventures in order to make sure the programme is as "good" as he can make it.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I have a couple of things that are due to come out next year. But yeah, I have to give my all to 'The Late Late Show' and commit to it being good. And then, you know, I hope to carry on acting when that's done."
In order to attract viewers to the show, the 36-year-old presenter and the show's producer, Ben Winston, are keen to enlist the help of their celebrity friends such as One Direction to make appearances.
Speaking before the show began to air, a source said: "Ben and James are trying to attract big names for the March launch. The idea is for One Direction to be the show's house band.
"They know they need to create a splash. James is a virtual unknown in the States but he has more than four million Twitter followers so they are going to drum up attention that way.
"James is tapping up all his celebrity friends, including David Beckham and Simon Cowell. He's very nervous but determined to give it his best shot."

Rose Byrne doesn't think there are many "good" roles for women.
The 'Bridesmaids' actress admits she often feels "frustrated" by the parts she is offered but is glad she has persevered because she is finally getting offered leading roles.
She said: "I want to keep working as much as I can and take advantage of the opportunities that have opened up to me.
"I've spent a lot of time dealing with the reality that good roles are often very hard to find for women - sometimes I've found it frustrating to be offered the wife or the mother or girlfriend rather than the character that drives the story forward.
"I'm glad to be finally getting to do those roles. It's worth the wait if you get to do something you love."
The 35-year-old actress only became a household name a few years ago and thinks it is her own fault because she didn't have very high expectations of what she could achieve.
She told HELLO! magazine: "It's been partly my own fault. Early in my career I constantly underestimated myself.
"I think it's a very Australian characteristic that God forbid we take ourselves too seriously or allow ourselves to feel too important.
"But excessive humility is not going to take you very far in this business.
"I had to learn to have more confidence in myself and be proud of what I do. Now I feel I'm ready to take on anything."

Candice Swanepoel thinks acting would send her "postal".
The Victoria's Secret beauty has no desire to follow her best friend Rosie Huntington-Whitely in launching a movie career because she thinks the pressure would be too much to cope with.
She said: "I like to act through my modelling but I don't think I would be a good Hollywood A-lister.
"You'd probably see me going postal or something."
Though she doesn't want to act, Candice - who has had a number of movie offers - admits she can see the appeal in playing a "twisted and damaged" role because it would come naturally to her.
She said: "My agency have given up on me. I don't want to play the hot girl in a movie, although I would enjoy something like 'Girl Interrupted' - someone who is a little twisted, a little damaged. It's easy for me to act like that!"
Candice was approached by Victoria's Secret in 2007 and admits she had no idea how important the job would be for her.
She told HELLO!'s Fashion Monthly magazine: "I didn't know I would become such a big part of the company, but yeah, Victoria's Secret is an amazing way to get your name out to the masses. Young girls look up to it. Everyone sees you."

Brad Pitt offered to drop out of a movie to care for Angelina Jolie.
The 'Maleficent' actress had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed last month after markers indicated she could have signs of ovarian cancer and her husband - with who she raises six children - promised to be by her side as much as she needed but was told to stick with his commitment to 'The Big Short' in New Orleans.
A source said: "He offered to pull out of filming but that's the last thing Angelina wanted. Instead, he'll come back at least once a week and his mother has offered to help with the children."
Meanwhile, Angelina's uncle Ron Martin - who was married to her late aunt Debbie - has spoken of how proud he is that the 39-year-old beauty, who carries the BRCA1 gene, meaning she has a high risk of cancer, has spoken out about her recent operation.
He told Grazia magazine: "I'm very happy for her. It was tearful reading the article [about her operation] because you felt her pain whether she had cancer or not.
"She's done a great thing and she's a very private person, for her to expose her personal medical history to the public, she's doing it for a cause. She can save hundreds of lives."
