Hailee Steinfeld ‘nervous’ about singing on-screen

Hailee Steinfeld was excited and nervous about singing in 'Pitch Perfect 2'.
The 18-year-old actress, who plays a member of the acapela group the Barden Bellas in the new comedy, admits she has a new appreciation for people who get on stage and perform.
She said: "I was equally excited as I was nervous. Singing has always been something that I love, but I've never taken it any further than the shower. You don't realise how hard it is."
The actress also embraced the opportunity to show off her dance moves.
She said: "I wouldn't consider myself a big dancer by any means, but it's something I like to do, so I just jumped right in. it was very cool to feel like one [a dancer] for a minute."
Hailee was a huge fan of the first film and instantly formed a close bond with her cast-mates.
The Oscar-nominated star told People magazine: "As a fan I felt like I knew all of the girls already. The fact that I'm in the second one is so cool.
"Sometimes when you are on set all day long with some people, the last thing you want to do is see them over the weekend. But it never felt like that with us. We had movie nights and viewing parties for 'The Bachelor'. It was awesome."

Blake Lively: I was terrible

Blake Lively thinks she has been "really terrible" in some of her movies."
The 27-year-old actress always likes to "push" herself in her work but admits sometimes the challenges don't pay off and she takes on something she can't handle.
She said: "I always want to challenge and stimulate myself.
"Sometimes I'll see one of my movies and think, 'I was really terrible in that' because I pushed myself to do something that I actually couldn't do.
"And then I'll see other movies and say, 'Wow I really managed to pull that off and I'm so proud because that was a stretch for me."
The 'Age of Adaline' star - who has four-month-old daughter James with husband Ryan Reynolds - thinks she is at a great point in her career right now because she has so many roles open to her.
She told LOOK magazine: "For me, every year I've grown older has been exciting because there are more opportunities and more roles.
"There were roles I was reading when I was in my early 20s that were mothers and I thought, 'Oh this character is so complex' and it's amazing, but I couldn't do it. So, I'm at an age where I can play some of the younger women and some older ones."

Scarlett Johansson no superhero fan

Scarlett Johansson disliked superheroes as a child.
The 30-year-old actress has had starring roles in the 'Iron Man', 'Captain America' and 'The Avengers' movies as Black Widow, but admitted she had no interest in the Marvel stories as a youngster and never touched a comic book.
She confessed: "Superheroes weren't my thing growing up. I watched movies and read a lot but I never read comics."
However, the 'Chef' star admitted she has grown to love the Marvel stories and enjoys acting in the films because she has been able to put her own twist on the superhero character.
She continued: "What makes a character interesting to play is if they are grounded in something substantial and I've been fortunate to be able to build Black Widow from the beginning. This time I had the opportunity to peel away some of the layers I had been strategically placing all these years."
And the mother-of-one - who is currently filming 'Captain America: Civil War', due next year, with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. - added she is always amazed by fans of the films because they are so passionate.
She told Stylist magazine: "Marvel super-fans are a whole other level. I understand the universe we've created but it's so expansive; this Marvel stuff is crazy."

Tom Hardy ‘battered’

Tom Hardy was "battered" filming for 'Mad Max: Fury Road'.
The 37-year-old actor has revealed how physically demanding taking over from Mel Gibson and shooting the action scenes for the fourth film in the franchise as the title character were.
He said: "('Mad Max' was) heavy metal in the baking sun, blunt traumas and car crashes, cars rolling over, spikes... Everything's metal. You're on wires with very little clothing on, and you've got a harness. It's very sweaty and hot and you're getting wrenched in the air and trying to bounce, smashed against metal, day in/day out, for six months. I got battered. I mean, it was bad."
The 'Inception' star went on to insist that every time he got injured during filming, he made it part of the shot, as "that's what Mel would have done".
Speaking to SFX magazine, Tom said: "Everything hurts. So if you hit your nuts when you hit the back of that lorry, play it.
"That's what Harrison Ford would have done. That's what Mel would have done. They'd have played it straight. This is tough. So make it look tough.
"Hurt your finger? That's manly, mate. Get up and just hold your fingers and keep going, cos you can't stop. As I studied more about Max, I thought, 'He's not going to give up on life, for stubbornness alone.' "

Hugh Jackman announces plan to quit as Wolverine

'Wolverine 3' will mark the last time Hugh Jackman appears in the role.
The 46-year-old actor - who's starred in numerous 'X-Men' films - has confirmed the much-anticipated movie will be the last time he plays the iconic Marvel character in 2017.
He told The Dr Oz Show: "It felt like it was the right time to do it. And let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it
"I kind of have in my head what we're going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out."
The news had been widely expected after, in March, Hugh posted a cryptic message on Instagram that read: "WOLVERINE... ONE LAST TIME. (sic)"
The announcement comes shortly after Hugh spoke about his battle against skin cancer, saying it is "not as scary" as he initially feared.
The Australian has had three surgeries on his nose since being diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in 2013 and he's insisted he isn't worried about having to manage the condition for the rest of his life.
Hugh said: "It's always a bit of a shock just hearing the word 'cancer'. Being an Australian it's a very common thing. I never wore sunscreen growing up so I was a prime candidate for it.
"It's not as scary as I first thought, as long as you take care of it."

Chris Rock: I love Woody Allen

Chris Rock loves Woody Allen.
The 50-year-old comedian has revealed himself to be a huge fan of the legendary filmmaker, and has dismissed suggestions that his latest movie, 'Top Five', shares some striking similarities to Woody's 1977 romantic comedy classic 'Annie Hall', starring Diane Keaton and Christopher Walken.
He said: "Nothing to compares to Annie Hall. But I do love Woody Allen. I mean, I've watched Annie Hall more than the average human being. Probably more than the average human being named Allen.
"No, I've probably seen Annie Hall 80 times. And could quote most scenes. And tell you what's in the background. I can even point out famous extras in Annie Hall. People who went on to have careers."
Chris also revealed he's been received more offers to direct movies than star in them of late.
He told Digital Spy: "You don't have to quit, you know. It's not like I have to denounce acting, but I can definitely direct things if I'm not in them. Actually, I'm reading scripts now, you get a lot of offers.
"I'm actually getting more offers, more directing offers than acting offers right now. Maybe I'll take one, who knows? If it's the right thing."

Ant-Man to star in Captain America: Civil War

Ant-Man will appear in 'Captain America: Civil War'.
Marvel has confirmed that Paul Rudd's on-screen character Scott Lang will be seen alongside some of the 'Avengers' in the third 'Captain America' movie, with production set to begin in Atlanta, Georgia.
Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, as well as Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle and Elizabeth Olsen will all reprise their Marvel characters from 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' in 'Captain America: Civil War'.
Other returning Marvel characters include Winter Soldier, played by Sebastian Stan, and Falcon, who's played by Anthony Mackie.
This comes shortly after Chris Evans - who plays Captain America - suggested the eagerly-awaited new film will see the superhero develop a serious love interest, even though the 33-year-old actor suspects the character is a virgin.
Looking forward to the new film, he said: "I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there's just so much to explore.
"Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony Mackie's character, Falcon], but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman."
Asked specifically whether the next film will feature a love interest, Chris said: "It's funny when you think about it - he's probably a virgin. He's probably a virgin! I don't know when it would've happened."

Billy Elliot musical ‘could be made into a film’

A big-screen version of the 'Billy Elliot' musical could be made.
Eric Fellner - the producer of the long-running hit - has held discussions with a number of the musical's key people, including composer Sir Elton John, about transforming the stage production into a fully-fledged film.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "We just need to act on it."
However, Eric explained that scheduling issues mean a potential movie remains some years away, if the idea does come to fruition, and he also expressed surprise that the stage show is set to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
He said: "None of us had any inclination that a show like this could ever run as long in the UK, and I think it has tapped into a social undercurrent of British life."
What's more, Eric said that the show has been a worldwide success because the central character - a coal miner's son who takes up ballet - is simply "a kid who wants to follow his dream".
The stage production was spawned by the 2000 British dance drama film starring Jamie Bell as 11-year-old Billy, while author Melvin Burgess was commissioned to write the novelisation of the film in 2001.

Lily James to star in Baby Driver

Lily James will star opposite Ansel Elgort in 'Baby Driver'.
The 26-year-old actress - who is best known for her portrayal of Lady Rose in the British period drama series 'Downton Abbey' and as Cinderella in the latest live action Disney remake - has taken on a lead role in the upcoming action comedy which focusses on a young getaway driver as he becomes involved in a doomed heist, reports The Wrap.
'The Fault In Out Stars' actor Ansel Elgort will play the driver while details surrounding James' part are yet to be released.
The movie will be helmed by Edgar Wright who has directed comedies including 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Sean of the Dead'.
Lily will next star in 'Adam Jones' alongside Bradley Cooper and Jamie Dornan, and will play Elizabeth Bennet in 'Pride And Prejudice And Zombies' with Douglas Booth, Suki Waterhouse and Matt Smith, which is set for release on February 19 next year.
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty recently revealed she had created a "shrine" to Cinderella in her bedroom after being told by the movie's director Sir Kenneth Branagh that she needed to come up with a backstory for her fairytale alter ego.
Lily - who created an elaborate display dedicated to the princess in her bedroom - said: "Ken wanted a backstory so he talked to me about stuff like, 'What does she have for breakfast? Does she sleep with the blinds open or closed?
"My wall at home was covered in pictures and quotes that made me think of her, so I woke up in the morning and saw her.
"I'd get really embarrassed when friends came round and saw my shrine to Cinderella."
