Channing Tatum: I get ‘super fat’ between movies

Channing Tatum has to work "extra hard" in the gym between filming because he gets "super fat".
The 'Magic Mike XXL' star - who plays a stripper in the film based on his own life experience - confessed to eating cookies, cheeseburgers and beer on his days off and listening to George Michael before going on stage.
Asked how he keeps in shape and prepares for the racy dance routines, he said: "It really depends on how fat you got in between. I get super fat between parts so I have to work extra hard."
When asked who in the film is the best at maintaining a buff body, he said: "[Joe Manganiello]; he's probably the person who gets closest to holding it all year round."
Interrupting his 35-year-old co-star, Joe informed him: "That's what you get for being a werewolf for five years [in True Blood]. You never know when they're going to say 'Get your clothes off!' Gym three times a day, protein, protein, protein. If you like steak you're fine."
In the interview with Total Film magazine, Channing replied: "I like steak but I also like other things. Cookies, cheeseburgers, beer ... Before I go on stage I listen to George Michael. That's what I did the first time, and that's what I did this time."

Tom Hanks in final talks to play Captain Sully

Tom Hanks is set to play Captain Sullenberger in a new biopic about the heroic pilot.
The 58-year-old actor is in talks with famous 'American Sniper' director and Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, 85, to star in the new movie about the hero who performed the 'Miracle on the Hudson', which saw him land a commercial passenger plane on the Hudson River in 2009.
Captain 'Sully' Sullenberger averted tragedy when he made an un-powered crash landing on the strip of water in New York after the plane's engines were hit by a flock of geese, saving all 155 passengers on board.
Sullenberger and his co-pilot Jeffrey Zaslow retold the epic story in their book 'Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters' and Eastwood has adapted it for a movie.
Captain Sullenberger, 64 - who retired in 2010 and now campaigns for flight safety - is looking forward to seeing the film, saying: "I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall.
"The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team."

Ann Coulter thought Sharknado was a vacuum cleaner

Ann Coulter thought 'Sharknado' was a "late-night infomercial for a new vacuum cleaner".
The 53-year-old actress, who stars in the disaster film franchise, has revealed that when she first heard it mentioned, she had no idea what it was.
Ann shared: "The first time I heard 'Sharknado' I thought it was a late-night infomercial for a new vacuum cleaner.
"Could have swore I ordered one once. Then I found out what it was and remembered that I grew up reading the Sharknado novels."
Ann stars in the latest instalment in the franchise, 'Sharknado 3', and has admitted her character meets a fairly predictable end.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she joked: "I die of natural causes. Ahem, hello? The movie is called 'Sharknado'. How do you think I die?"
Meanwhile, Ann joked that she's spent years proving her acting credentials in some unusual contexts.
She shared: "I've been acting for years. I always act surprised when [US senator] Marco Rubio says something stupid. My greatest acting performance was pretending to enjoy the movie 'Selma'."
And asked whether she thinks she's a good actress, Ann quipped: "I think I'm as good an actor as Lena Dunham, so no."

Arnold Schwarzenegger likens co-stars to ‘a basketball team’

Arnold Schwarzenegger has likened the 'Terminator Genisys' cast to "a basketball team".
The 67-year-old star - who's reprised the role of The Terminator in the latest film in the sci-fi series - has revealed just how much he enjoyed working with co-stars Emilia Clarke and Matt Smith.
Speaking at Vue Westfield in London's Shepherd's Bush, the Hollywood star said: "I was very fortunate that each one of our co-stars and people that worked on the movie were absolutely fantastic to work with.
"Making a movie is like a basketball team or football team. If you all work together you really produce miracles, but if one is out of line, or two, which sometimes happens on movies because of egos, it's not going to click, it's not going to happen.
"On this film everyone was in line and everyone marched in the same direction."
Meanwhile, Arnold - who served as the Governor of California from 2003 until 2011 - explained that he put his career on hold while in political office because he didn't think it was possible to balance the two careers at once.
He said: "They tell you that when you're governor, or mayor, or prime minister, that you're so consumed with work, and that you're so consumed with the responsibility that you ... you don't really have the time to think, 'Maybe I should do a movie on the side'."

Jake Gyllenhaal would get fat for a role

Jake Gyllenhaal would get fat for an acting role.
The 34-year-old actor spent months in physical training and on a strict diet in order to get fit for his part as champion boxer Billy 'The Great' Hope in forthcoming movie 'Southpaw', but he has revealed that he would happily pile on the pounds for a part.
Asked whether he would "get fat" for a role, Jake said: "Absolutely!
"I mean I think, it just depends on the role and it depends on if I'm driven by it. I like to learn and do almost anything for a role. It's not an easy thing that, but I'd give it a go."
Despite being one of Hollywood's most sought-after stars, Jake - who will also appear as a mountaineer in forthcoming 3D film 'Everest' - admitted that he is not always a fan of watching himself on screen.
He told BBC Radio 1: "It is strange to watch yourself but I love movies and I love making them and the stories are really interesting to me.
"Shaping them you know, when you're watching them be shaped by an editor and they're becoming a movie after you've shot many different scenes, that's amazing to see."
Meanwhile, Jake revealed how he was mentored by a cop to prepare for his 2012 film 'End of Watch' and the subsequently two became friends.
He said: "I learned everything about being a police officer and everything involved in it. All the lessons he learned and everything he had been through, and we became close."

Jada Pinkett-Smith grateful Matt Bomer didn’t sue

Jada Pinkett-Smith was "glad" Matt Bomer didn't sue her for sexual harassment.
The 43-year-old actress - who has kids Jaden, 16, and WIllow, 14, with husband Will Smith - admits her knees "literally buckled" at the sight of "such physical beauty" on the set of 'Magic Mike XXL' every day and she particularly enjoyed spending time with one of her co-stars, until she realised her attentions could make him uncomfortable.
Speaking on 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest', she said: "I was so glad that he didn't sue me for sexual harassment. I really was.
"Because every time I saw Matt, my first thing is I put my hand on his chest and rub his chest and say, 'Hey, Matt!'
"And I realised...if he did that to me, it'd be a problem. I had to take a day and apologise. I was like, 'You know, I realise every time I see you, I touch your chest and that's just not right and I'm sorry. I am sorry."
But Jada - who plays a strip club owner and emcee in the movie - was relieved to find Matt wasn't upset.
The movie is rated R for strong sexual content, language drug use and some nudity, but Jada admits it almost got a higher rating until a scene with Michael Strahan was edited.
She told Power 105FM: "We were screening the movie and they were like, 'You have to just wait because we have to tone Michael's scene down--at one particular point in time I think it was an NC-17 rating!
"I was like 'What? I'm a grown woman I can watch that!'"
But despite its adult themes, Jada insists she would rather her daughter watch the movie than be subject to some of what is available on the Internet.
She said: "When I'm sitting with Willow and going through the Tumblr feed, she always tells me, she's like, 'Mom, this is not me, it's a feed, I'm not in control of this!'
"And the stuff that I see come through there, I'm like, I cannot believe children are exposed to this stuff.
"It's crazy. So 'Magic Mike', in my eyes, I would prefer Willow see that!"

Channing Tatum: Magic Mike was like ‘winning the lottery

Channing Tatum has likened the success of 'Magic Mike' to winning "the lottery".
The 2012 comedy-drama, which also starred the likes of Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey, was a huge box office success, but Channing admits to being massively surprised by the film's popularity.
The 35-year-old actor said: "We just won the lottery. Like, we had no idea. We truly honestly had no idea. I don't know we could have seen it."
Channing's co-star Joe Manganiello echoed his sentiment, revealing he was completely surprised by the popularity of the movie.
Joe, 38, told Entertainment Weekly: "I remember Warner Bros. bought it and announced they were going to release it as their Fourth of July movie. That's when it hit me. I was like, 'Oh my God, what we just did to these girls, everyone is going to see this.'"
Due to the bond they developed while making the original movie, the cast were happy to return for the much-anticipated sequel, which is released next month.
Channing said: "I'll forever be able to see them across the room and be like 'You!' [Points across the table] If ever s**t goes down, I know who's willing to go hard - no pun intended."

Matthew Vaughn confirms plans for Kick Ass prequel

Matthew Vaughn is working on a 'Kick Ass' prequel.
The 44-year-old director - who helmed the first film in the franchise - has revealed the prequel needs to be made before 'Kick Ass 3' can come to fruition.
He told Yahoo! Movies: "I'm not happily done with the franchise, for sure. 'Kick-Ass' was a really important film for me, I'm really proud of it.
"We would like to dip our toe back into it. When I say 'we', Mark [Millar] and I and the team
"We're working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit-Girl and Big Daddy become Hit-Girl and Big Daddy. It's quite a fun idea we've come up with."
As well as taking on the 'Kick Ass' project, Matthew has also been linked with directing the latest adaptation of 'Flash Gordon'.
20th Century Fox is currently developing a revival of the well-loved sci-fi hero and is apparently keen to see Matthew, who recently helmed 'Kingsman: The Secret Service', lead the movie.
The revival of the character based on the 1930's comic book star is being penned by John D Payne and Patrick McKay.

Taron Egerton: I won’t job hop

Taron Egerton will never be a "job hopper".
The 25-year-old actor - who recently appeared in 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' and is now starring as Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards in the new biopic of the British skier's life - revealed that although his new Hollywood lifestyle is "amazing", he doesn't want to become a workaholic.
He said: "If I was a 'job hopper', I wouldn't be able to watch my sister not do very well in the egg-and-spoon race. And that's kind of what life is about.
"I suppose I'm a little bit lazy. You always hear about Tom Cruise hopping from job to job to job but the stress that is involved with a shoot, I really feel like I've earned three months off by the time it's finished."
Despite the glitz and glamour that now surrounds him, Taron said his "lifestyle hasn't changed".
He told the Independent newspaper: "I'm going to my sister's school sports day. There are some parts of my life that are wonderful and it's amazing to get to go to cool events and award shows and things like that, but I think the outside perception is that your life just changes overnight and you wear Dolce and Gabanna suits and drive a Mercedes.
"But life's just not like that. I've made these films and I'm really proud but my lifestyle hasn't changed."
