Channing Tatum: Don’t have an American James Bond

Channing Tatum would love to be the next James Bond - but says the secret agent "shouldn't be an American".
The 35-year-old actor - who plays an undercover cop in the 'Jump Street' franchise - has expressed an interest in the role, currently occupied by Daniel Craig, but insisted he would ultimately turn down the part of 007 because he doesn't think an American could play a believable Bond.
Channing said: "It would be a very hard turn down. But i don't know. There is a very strong strong voice inside that tells me James Bond probably should always be a true United Kingdomer. (sic)"
While Channing thinks a change for 007 would be good, he is adamant the character's nationality should stay the same.
In a Q&A with fans on Reddit.com, he said: "I'm all down for changing things completely but the true nature of 007 is i feel just very innately english, it shouldn't be an american putting on an English accent. (sic)"
In recent months, Idris Elba has been heavily linked with the Bond role, but he recently said that any hope he had of securing the part has "gone".
He explained: "Honestly, it's a rumor that's really starting to eat itself.
"If there was ever any chance of me getting Bond, it's gone."

Nicole Kidman: Hollywood isn’t fair

Nicole Kidman doesn't think Hollywood is an "even playing field".
The 47-year-old actress - who's married to Australian country music singer Keith Urban - has hit out at sexism in the movie industry, saying women are given too few opportunities to demonstrate their talents.
She said: "We're all working and banding together and trying to change that and that's what's needed.
"We also need to put cameras in little girls' hands and get them to tell stories and increase their confidence so that they can feel powerful."
The Oscar-winning actress implored women who have aspirations of forging a career within the movie industry to "take risks, raise our voices and honour the fire within".
Nicole's remarks come shortly after Dame Helen Mirren hit out at "ridiculous" sexism in Hollywood.
The 69-year-old actress bemoaned instances of older men being cast with younger female love interests.
Dame Helen - who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Britain's Queen Elizabeth in the 2006 hit 'The Queen' - said: "It's ridiculous. And 'twas ever thus. We all watched James Bond as he got more and more geriatric, and his girlfriends got younger and younger. It's so annoying."

Emma Stone explains turning down Ghostbusters

Emma Stone turned down 'Ghostbusters' because it was too "big" a commitment.
The 26-year-old actress was approached to take on a role in the all-female reboot of the movie series, and though she really liked the script, she felt the timing wasn't quite right.
She said: "The script was really funny. It just didn't feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment--it's a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water."
Emma can next be seen starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix in 'Irrational Man', her second movie with director Woody Allen and though he is a huge fan of her acting talents, the actress finds working with the filmmaker "terrifying".
She told the Wall Street Journal: "It's terrifying. He doesn't do table reads or any rehearsal. You can't even ask questions about your character, because he'll be like, 'You know this is a movie, right?' "
The 'Birdman' star feels very lucky to have reached a position in her career where she can choose the projects she is interested in.
She said: "There's this insane thing that happens where you get to a point where you start not just doing things because you're lucky to have gotten the job, but you actually start making choices."

Helen Mirren hits out at Hollywood ‘sexism’

Dame Helen Mirren has blasted "ridiculous" sexism in Hollywood.
The 69-year-old actress - who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Britain's Queen Elizabeth in the 2006 hit 'The Queen' - has hit out at examples of older men being cast with younger female love interests.
She said: "It's ridiculous. And 'twas ever thus. We all watched James Bond as he got more and more geriatric, and his girlfriends got younger and younger. It's so annoying."
Meanwhile, Dame Helen also said her sex symbol status is limiting for her as an actress.
She explained: "I don't like the word sexual. There are people who are sexual, and [others] who are less sexual. But there's got to be another word. 'Sexual' is so limiting.
"Being powerful is so much more interesting than being beautiful."
Last month, meanwhile, Dame Helen branded award shows pointless.
The acclaimed actress claimed she doesn't care about receiving accolades for her work because "there's no winning or losing in art".
She observed: "In our job as actors and actresses, we are first and foremost artists. And artists are not athletes. There's no winning or losing in art, honestly."

Mark Ruffalo ‘will star in Captain America: Civil War’

Mark Ruffalo has been told by Robert Downey Jr. he'll star in 'Captain America: Civil War'.
The 47-year-old actor plays the Hulk in the Marvel films and has revealed the Iron Man star has already said he'll feature in the much-anticipated movie, even though it's still to be confirmed by the studio.
He told Hitflix: "If Robert Downey, Jr. says I'm in 'Captain America', I'm in 'Captain America' dammit. And I will wait for the day that my call sheet shows up at my doorstep or my script.
"At this point, I'm told that I'm in it by Robert, which I'll take as biblical, but I just haven't heard or seen from production yet."
This comes shortly after 'Captain America' star Chris Evans said the new film will see the superhero develop a serious love interest, even though he suspects the character is a virgin.
Chris said: "I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there's just so much to explore.
"Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony Mackie's character, Falcon], but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman."
Asked whether the next movie will feature a love interest, he said: "It's funny when you think about it - he's probably a virgin. He's probably a virgin! I don't know when it would've happened."

Studio announces new Halloween movie

Michael Myers is to return for a new movie in the 'Halloween' franchise.
Dimension Films and Trancas Films have confirmed the iconic fictional character from the slasher films is set to return to the big screen for the first time since 2009, with Rob Zombie being replaced as director by Michael Myers.
Producer Malek Akkad, who also produced the 2007 and 2009 'Halloween' films, said: "The legacy of 'Halloween' is something that Trancas is very proud of, and I look forward to working together again with Bob and Dimension to continue that tradition."
Details of the plot of the new movie remain a closely-guarded secret, but Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company & Dimension Films, has promised to deliver "one of the scariest instalments" of the film series.
He said: "Michael Myers has taken a long break from the big screen and we know fans are eager to see him return.
"We are excited to be back in business with Trancas and look forward to bringing one of the scariest instalments of this classic franchise to audiences worldwide."
The new movie is set to start shooting in July.

Sir Kenneth Branagh to direct Murder On The Orient Express

Sir Kenneth Branagh is reportedly preparing to direct an adaptation of Agatha Christie's 'Murder On The Orient Express'.
The 54-year-old star, who helmed the recent Disney version of 'Cinderella', has been locked in discussions with 20th Century Fox about taking on the project, TheWrap reports.
The movie - which is based on the 1934 detective novel - is currently being adapted by Michael Green, who wrote the new 'Blade Runner' film.
Sir Kenneth made his name with a series of Shakespeare adaptations, but this project could well mark a further movie by him towards more populist material, having also helmed Marvel's 'Thor' and 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit'.
He also revealed earlier this year that he is "very hopeful" Martin Scorsese will direct a movie adaptation of his 2013 'Macbeth' stage production.
The duo were said to have staged informal discussions about the idea and Sir Kenneth confirmed it was close to a reality.
He shared: "We're practically there... We will remount the production and all things being well Mr Scorsese will direct a film version of that production.
"Fingers are hovering above pieces of paper. Everybody wants to do it, it's just a question of schedules. I'm very, very, very, very hopeful it's going to happen."

Jennifer Lawrence ‘to be paid more than Chris Pratt’ for Passengers

Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly set to earn $8 million more than co-star Chris Pratt for appearing in 'Passengers'.
The 24-year-old actress, who's starred in a string hit movies, including the 'Hunger Games' franchise and 'Silver Linings Playbook', is set to pocket as much as $20 million against 30 percent of the profit after the movie breaks even.
Meanwhile, Chris - her co-star in the upcoming sci-fi drama - has agreed a deal worth $12 million, which was recently increased by $2 million following the box office success of 'Jurassic World', according to The Hollywood Reporter.
'Passengers', which is set to begin filming in September, has been pitched as 'Gravity' with romance and will be helmed by Oscar-nominated director Morten Tyldum.
Jennifer's earnings have become a source of interest ever since leaked Sony emails revealed she and Amy Adams, who played the female leads in 'American Hustle', received less than their male co-stars, Bradley Cooper, Chrisitan Bale and Jeremy Renner, for the 2013 film.
The news prompted an angry response from some leading figures in Hollywood, including Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
She said: "If you're doing the same job, you should be compensated and treated in the same way."
