Jack Whitehall to star in ‘Mother’s Day’ with Jennifer Aniston.

Jack Whitehall has landed a lead role in 'Mother's Day'.
The 27-year-old British comedian - known for his posh accent and quick witt - has bagged his second big movie role opposite Julia Roberts, 47 and Jennifer Aniston, 47, in director Garry Marshall's latest romantic-comedy.
He told The Sun newspaper: "To be working with such great people will be exciting and nerve-racking in equal measure, but director Garry Marshall is a Hollywood legend so I couldn't be in better hands.
Slated for release in 2016, Jack's character is a young father from Atlanta and the heavily female cast - which includes Kate Hudson, Helen Mirren and Jennifer Connolly - will tell the tale of a group of mothers ahead of the inaugral celebration.
Meanwhile, the 'Bad Education' actor - whose TV series got made into a film - says he likes to push the boundaries of comedy and recalled a scene from his latest release that shows just how far he is willing to go.
He said: "You can push boundaries a little bit more when you are doing a film. There are no taste and decency barriers.
"We had three swans there - a real swan, a puppet swan and a swan's head on a stick. They are f*****g terrifying, swans. They have that aloofness cats have where they can be quite judgmental."
"As I was waddling towards it with a prosthetic set of testicles hanging out of my trousers, I caught a glimpse of the swan and it certainly seemed to be judging me in that moment. It was asking me if I was better than this. I don't think I necessarily am."

Daniel Craig craves theatre work

Daniel Craig wants to do more theatre acting.
The 47-year-old actor, who stars as James Bond in the iconic film franchise, has revealed that once he's finished promoting the eagerly-awaited new movie 'Spectre', he will try to do more theatre work - although he's reluctant to appear on Broadway.
Asked what he's going to do over the next year or two, Daniel replied: "Nothing, actually. I'd like to do some theatre in New York. I've done Broadway and I was happy with that, but I don't want to do Broadway anymore."
Daniel explained he doesn't wish to appear on Broadway because of the audience those productions attract.
He told DuJour magazine: "The audience is all over 50, on the whole, and I think new faces and cheaper tickets are the only way forward. And it's never going to happen."
Earlier this month, meanwhile, former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan said he would be happy if the next secret agent had homosexual leanings - but he doesn't see it happening.
Asked if he could picture a gay Bond, Pierce said: "Sure. Why not?
"Actually, I don't know how it would work. I don't think [producer Barbara Broccoli] would allow a gay Bond to happen in her lifetime. But it would certainly make for interesting viewing."

Cate Blanchett to receive BFI Fellowship

Cate Blanchett is to be awarded the BFI Fellowship at Banqueting House in London on October 17.
The 46-year-old actress - whose film credits include starring roles in the Woody Allen-directed 'Blue Jasmine' and the 2004 hit 'The Aviator' - has been named as the next recipient of the BFI's highest honour.
Greg Dyke, chairman of the BFI, said: "Cate Blanchett is a compelling and brave actress whose mesmerising screen presence has captivated audiences since her earliest roles.
"We are absolutely delighted to honour her extraordinary talents with a BFI Fellowship at this year's LFF awards."
Cate has been handed the award on account of her captivating on-screen performances across the course of her career, which has seen her collect two Academy Awards and three BAFTAs.
The night she receives the BFI Fellowship will also see Cate's new movie TRUTH have its UK premiere.
The movie is based based on the book 'Truth and Duty' by Mary Mapes, which looks at the risks the award-winning journalist took to expose a story on the then US President George W. Bush.
Cate plays the central role in the movie, while Robert Redford appears in the part of Dan Rather.

Daniel Craig: I wanted to fall at Desmond Tutu’s feet

Daniel Craig wanted to fall at the feet of Desmond Tutu on a flight to New York - but was too intimated.
The 47-year-old actor - who 's best known for playing the iconic secret agent James Bond - has revealed he recently found himself on the same plane as the South African social rights activist and award-winning singer Alicia Keys, yet was too overcome with nerves to approach either one of them.
He recalled: "On a flight to New York recently, Alicia Keys and Desmond Tutu were on the plane. I didn't go up to them.
"I smiled at Alicia Keys, but I couldn't look Desmond Tutu in the eye. I wanted to go up to him and fall at his feet. It was one of those situations where I blew it completely."
Daniel admitted he was tempted to follow in the footsteps of his own fans by taking a picture with the famous pair while they were asleep, but reasoned it'd be "creepy".
He told DuJour magazine: "That happens to me so often, you wake up to a phone in your face and you go, 'What the f**k!'
"So creepy! Which I call out: 'That's fucking creepy!'"

Guy Ritchie: I love folk music

Guy Ritchie loves folk music.
The 46-year-old director - whose film credits include 'Snatch' and 'Sherlock Holmes' - has revealed himself to be a big fan of the genre and other songs that have a timeless quality.
Reflecting on his musical tastes, Guy explained: "My favourite thing at the moment is folk music that's anything to a thousand years old, all those old songs, because they capture everything to me about the narrative.
"There's a spiritual element, there's a material element, there's conflict, there's blood, there's guts, there's love, there's ghosts and magic and the expression of everything interesting and there's irony and paradox, all captured within these old poems."
The acclaimed filmmaker also revealed he's particularly excited about the soundtrack to his latest movie, 'The Man From UNCLE'.
He told Spotify: "Daniel Pemberton [the film's composer] and I had... well, we're very excited about the soundtrack and it meant a lot to do it.
"But let's just say there's lots of shouting going on in that relationship."
Meanwhile, Guy's new film, 'The Man From UNCLE', sees retired soccer star David Beckham make his acting debut.
A source previously said: "He was very grateful to Guy for getting him a small role and it was a great experience."

Star Trek Beyond cast pay tribute to Leonard Nimoy

Zachary Quinto has led a tribute video to 'Star Trek' legend Leonard Nimoy.
The 38-year-old actor remembered Leonard - who played the iconic character Spock across film and TV from 1964 to 2013 - as a "champion of the arts" who "influenced countless scientists and artists" and the entire cast of the sci-fi franchise.
Speaking in the video made for the Omaze campaign - which supports nine charities picked by the cast of 'Star Trek Beyond' - Zachary said: "Through his legendary portrayal of Spock, he influenced countless scientists and artists - myself and the rest of the cast included."
Leonard's successor - who took over as Spock in 2013's 'Stark Trek Into The Darkness' - also complimented his "love for the human spirit" and said he will be "greatly missed".
He added: "[His] love for the human spirit shone through everything he did, he touched lives around the world and he is greatly missed."
The American movie star also admitted he misses Leonard - who died in February this year - a lot and is a "better person" for having known him.
Zachary told Metro newspaper: "We talked about many things right up to the end. My memories are full of love and gratitude, and I miss him quite a bit.
"I feel that I'm an infinitely better person for knowing him. His was a really accomplished life and I think he left the world knowing that."
Other cast members, including Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba, were also featured in the clip filmed on the bridge of the USS Enterprise star ship.

Owen Wilson plays protective dad in ‘No Escape’

Owen Wilson enjoyed playing a protective parent in new movie 'No Escape'.
The 46-year-old actor - who has kids Robert Ford Wilson, 4 and 12-month old Finn Lindqvist Wilson from two relationships - plays a father trying to get his family to safety during a political uprising and says he wanted to take the part when he read he would be a father taking his kids out of harm's way.
He said: "Within the first ten or fifteen pages, the riot breaks out and he's running to grab his kid out of the pool and it just seemed like an exciting story for me."
He went on: "The thing that attracted me to the script was that it didn't feel too action-y. I [wasn't] all of a sudden going to jump into a fighter jet or pick up a grenade launcher and expertly use it. It felt grounded in believability. The biggest thing was being a parent and the feeling that when put in a situation to protect your kids, [the parent] is capable of anything"
The movie sees Owen's character become an action hero, but he says he was chosen for the part because he is "believable" a regular guy.
He told Collider: "I've obviously worked on more comedies over the years, but what they believed is that I could possibly help the story in the beginning. You get lulled into a thing of 'okay, there's this kid joking around, this feels very familiar', and then all of a sudden you pull the rug out from under my character and the audience."

Lil Wayne: Straight Outta Compton is amazing

Lil Wayne thinks 'Straight Outta Compton' is "amazing".
The 32-year-old hip-hop superstar - who ranks among the wealthiest acts in the industry - has revealed the F. Gary Gray-directed movie about the iconic rap group N.W.A took him back to the days when he was simply a fan of the genre.
He explained to ESPN: "The movie was amazing. I was a huge N.W.A fan.
"I walked away from the movie feeling like I never rapped a word in my life. I was just a fan."
Earlier this month, 'Selma' director Ava DuVernay revealed she shed a tear watching 'Straight Outta Compton'.
She admitted the new movie about the legendary group - which featured DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube and MC Ren - had brought back some powerful childhood memories.
In a series of tweets, Ava said: "All the stifling of our voices as young black people in that place at that time while a war was going on against us. ‪[F Gary Gray] captured it.
"He captured the plight of the black artist in general, once consumed by systems and structures not made for them. The struggle is real.
"To be a woman who loves hip-hop at times is to be in love with your abuser. Because the music was and is that. And yet the culture is ours."

Pierce Brosnan would welcome a gay James Bond

Pierce Brosnan would welcome a gay James Bond - but doesn't think it'll ever happen.
The 62-year-old actor - who starred as the iconic secret agent in four films from 1995 to 2002 - has claimed that although creating a version of the character with homosexual leanings would "make for interesting viewing", it's unlikely to happen any time soon.
Asked if he could picture a gay Bond, Pierce said: "Sure. Why not?
"Actually, I don't know how it would work. I don't think [producer Barbara Broccoli] would allow a gay Bond to happen in her lifetime. But it would certainly make for interesting viewing."
Pierce suggested it's more likely Bond will be played by a black actor - and he volunteered the name of Idris Elba.
He told Details: "Let's start with a great black actor being James Bond.
"Idris Elba certainly has the physicality, the charisma, the presence. But I think Daniel [Craig] will be there for a while yet."
Earlier this year, Idris dismissed speculation linking him with the role of Bond, saying the constant rumours had ruined his chances.
He admitted: "It's a rumour that's really started to eat itself. If there was a chance of me getting Bond, it's gone."
