Jack Savoretti announces new album We Will Always Be The Way We Were

Jack Savoretti has confirmed details of his ninth studio album, We Will Always Be The Way We Were, a project he describes as a return to the sound and spirit of his earliest work.

The record was made at Eastcote Studios in West London and arrives as Savoretti celebrates two decades since releasing his debut, Between the Minds.

The new collection sees the singer-songwriter reconnecting with the raw, cinematic storytelling that shaped his early career. Written and recorded with his long-time touring band, the project leans into the collaborative energy and creative freedom that have defined his 20 years in music.

He said: “This is a full-circle album.

“It’s going back to my roots, to the neighbourhood where I first started making music — with the same friends and musicians I met around Ladbroke Grove and Portobello Road. It’s the album I always wanted to make when I was starting out, but didn’t yet have the courage or experience to make. Now I do.”

We Will Always Be The Way We Were follows 2024’s Miss Italia and includes recent singles Do It For Love — co-written with Miles Kane — and Only Gonna Cry For You, featuring Steph Fraser.

Across its 12 tracks, the album moves between “late-night balladry, “widescreen pop”, and the shimmering “Italo‑disco” feel of its title track. The record also features a duet with KT Tunstall on Tempting Fate and the upbeat I Hear You Calling.

Speaking about the title track, which is out now, Savoretti added: “I don’t think we ever really change. We grow and we evolve.”

Produced by Tommaso Colliva (Muse, Damon Albarn), the album was recorded live over eight days, capturing the chemistry of Savoretti’s long-standing band: Jesper Lind (drums), Sam Davies (bass), Sam Lewis (guitar), Nikolai Torp (keys, organ) and Shannon Harris (piano, Wurlitzer).

The album is scheduled for release on April 10, 2026.

Following the record’s release, Savoretti will mark the album and his 20-year milestone with a special one-off show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 23, which sold out in under an hour.
