Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend the Commonwealth Games today (28.07.14).
The royal couple – who have 12-month-old son Prince George together – will arrive at the event in Glasgow to watch the action from the fifth day of the competition.
The pair will join Prince Harry, 29, to watch a number of events, including athletics, badminton, boxing, gymnastics, hockey, lawn bowls, netball, shooting, squash, swimming, table tennis and weightlifting.
The competition has seen a number of royal spectators over the past week, including Prince Charles, his wife Duchess Camilla and his mother Queen Elizabeth.
The 88-year-old monarch was the centre of attention on Twitter on Thursday (24.07.14) after she photobombed Australian hockey player Jade Taylor’s selfie following her team’s 4-0 win over Malaysia.
The picture shows the Jade and her teammate Brooke Peris smiling at the camera lens, while the Queen, dressed head to toe in mint green, can be seen grinning ear-to-ear at the pair in the background.
It remains unclear whether Her Majesty – who arrived at the new Glasgow National Hockey Centre to watch the England women’s team win their first match of the competition against Wales – had intended to get in the way on the shot.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth kicked off the multi-sporting event on Wednesday (23.07.14) when she delivered an almost-year-old message, which had been placed in a baton and carried by fans over a 10-month relay through 71 locations, at the spectacular opening ceremony at the Celtic Park stadium.
