Britain’s Prince William has praised the winners of The British Academy Film Awards young game designers competition.
The BAFTA president – who presented awards to four future game creators and a school teacher – has said "the future of British games, is very bright indeed" after handing out the awards at BAFTA’s headquarters in London, yesterday (27.07.15).
Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Duke of Cambridge said: "I encourage you – our stars of tomorrow – to keep exploring your creativity and see where it takes you. Judging by the potential you have already shown, your future, and the future of British games, is very bright indeed."
He went on to say that the games industry is "one of the fastest growing and most creative industries in the country" and pointed out that "regardless of your background or your gender" a "successful career is very much a possibility".
Prince William added: "A successful career in one of the fastest growing and most creative industries in this country is very much a possibility, regardless of your background or your gender.
Website Dealinenews.co.uk reported that one of the prizes went to popular game Minecraft, which was awarded by the BAFTA Games Committee for supporting young games designers.
