Can they do it? Pitbull fans in Guinness World Records attempt for most people donning bald caps at BST Hyde Park

American Express presents BST Hyde Park has announced one of the most unusual — and entertaining — world‑record attempts the festival has ever hosted.

When Pitbull headlines the event on July 10, fans will unite for an official Guinness World Records title attempt for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

The idea was sparked by BBC Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James, who championed the challenge live on air as soon as Pitbull’s Hyde Park show was revealed. A devoted fan of Mr. Worldwide, James’ enthusiasm quickly reached the star himself — and Pitbull wasted no time getting on board.

Pitbull said: “Guinness Book of World Records, get ready for all the Bald‑E’s that’ll be putting it down on July 10th at Hyde Park.

“Every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives. We appreciate the love, the commitment, and the support. More than anything, we just want to say thank you. Dale!”

The record attempt builds on a fan‑driven trend that has followed Pitbull across the globe. At his recent sold‑out O2 Arena shows in London, thousands of fans arrived wearing bald caps in tribute to his signature look. The movement — affectionately dubbed “The Bald‑E’s” — has since gone viral and continues to sweep through his I’M BACK tour dates across Europe and North America.

BST Hyde Park will now bring the phenomenon to its biggest stage yet, with an official adjudicator overseeing the attempt. Fans hoping to take part must follow strict rules: bald caps must be securely fitted with hair tucked under the front and top, and all participants must gather simultaneously for at least one full minute.

Darcey Jackson, Director of Talent at AEG Presents European Festivals, said: “We’re so excited to host a [Mr] world [wide] record attempt at Pitbull’s show in BST Hyde Park. We’ve broken a few world records in the past but this will truly be the time of our lives. Come one, come all, come bald.”

Will Munford, Adjudicator at Guinness World Records, added: “We look forward to adjudicating this record at BST Hyde Park with Pitbull. What better way to be part of something amazing than coming together with other fans to celebrate your favourite artist.”

For this special show, Pitbull will be joined by his Timber duet partner, Kesha, with more acts still to be announced. This year’s BST series will also see headline sets from Garth Brooks, Lewis Capaldi, Maroon 5, and Mumford and Sons.

Final tickets for BST Hyde Park are available now at bst-hydepark.com.

Pitbull will also headline the inaugural American Express presents Roundhay Festival in Leeds on July 3, again joined by Kesha.
