Billy Joel announces new co-headlining dates with Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart

Billy Joel has announced a pair of co-headlining concerts with Stevie Nicks and Sir Rod Stewart.

The ‘Piano Man’, 75, and Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie, 76, have already performed 11 shows together since March 2023, and they have two dates confirmed for 2025, including playing the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 8.

The show follows their previously announced concert on March 29 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, and are Stevie’s only confirmed concerts for next year.

Billy and Rod, 79, have also just announced a gig on July 5 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The show follows their concert this September at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Ohio.

Tickets for New Jersey and Detroit go on general sale on Friday, December 13, at 10 am ET.

Rod’s US gig with Billy comes after he was recently confirmed for Glastonbury next summer.

The ‘Maggie May’ hitmaker will be 80 when he plays the Sunday afternoon legends slot at the world-famous festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, south west England on June 29.

He wrote on Instagram: “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing Glastonbury Festival 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”

Rod – who has a Las Vegas residency, and several other tours planned for next year in North American and Europe – recently claimed playing Glastonbury will cost him a whopping $300,000 (£237,780).

The music legend “immediately” accepted Emily and Michael Eavis’ offer to play the coveted teatime spot reserved for music royalty but claimed there is a hefty price to pay for the honour.

Appearing on talkSPORT Breakfast, he was asked how quickly he agreed to the gig, responding: “Immediately. It’s a great honour.”

He then added: “It’s going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,0000.”

The former Faces rocker explained that he will have to foot the bill for the cost of bringing his live band over from the US, but he insists it’s worth every penny and he would be willing to shelve out a million dollars (£792,500) for the privilege.

He explained: “I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, of course Glastonbury don’t pay for that. But I don’t care if it cost me $1 million, I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.”
