The Cure to release new album

The Cure are set to release a new album.

The ‘Friday I’m In Love’ band, who will play two sold out Teenage Cancer Trust shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall next month, plan to drop their 14th studio album, the follow-up to their 2008’s ‘4:13 Dream’ this year.

The record, named ‘4:14 Scream’, will be released in the next few months along with a series of live concert DVDs.

Frontman Robert Smith and bandmates Simon Gallup, Roger O’Donnell, Jason Cooper and Reeves Gabrels are also planning to take another ‘Trilogy’ style show around the globe in 2014, to mark 35 years since the release of their debut album ‘Three Imaginary Boys’.

The post-punk band plan to perform their 1980s albums ‘The Top’, ‘The Head On The Door’ and ‘Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me’ in their entirety.

It is the third time the band have undertaken such gigs, the first in 2002 featured the albums ‘Pornography’, ‘Disintegration’ and ‘Bloodflowers’, while the second under the title ‘Reflections’ in 2011, featured ‘Three Imaginary Boys’, ‘Seventeen Seconds’ and ‘Faith’ in full.

Their Teenage Cancer Trust concerts, curated by The Who’s Roger Daltrey, will be held between March 24 and 30 and also feature Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher, Suede, Paolo Nutini and OneRepublic.

The shows are The Cure’s first concerts since their tour of South East Asia and North and South America last year, which saw them play to more than a million fans.
