Zara Larsson says all the pop girlies are ‘very supportive and loving’

Zara Larsson insists all the pop girlies are “very supportive and loving”.

The Ain’t My Fault singer – who has collaborated with the likes of PinkPantheress and Muni Long and toured with Tate McRae – has opened up about the camaraderie she feels among today’s leading female pop stars, insisting that despite the competitive nature of the industry, there’s a genuine sense of support behind the scenes.

She told People: “It’s so important.

“It’s an industry that feels very competitive. But I think behind the stage and behind the scenes, everyone’s very supportive and loving.”

Reflecting on her own experiences, she added: “I really feel like there’s this warmth amongst the girls, at least what I’ve experienced. It’s so exciting to have been working with amazing pop girls, and I look forward to doing more of that.”

The Can’t Tame Her singer explained that collaborations have been a highlight of her career so far, but she’s eager to expand her circle further.

She said: “I’ve collaborated with some incredible artists, but I wanna do more with the girls.”

Zara was recently featured on PinkPantheress’ remix of Stateside on her Fancy Some More? album.

Praising the Just for Me singer, she gushed: “I love her. I think she’s so cute and very, very, very talented. She’s unapologetically herself, which I love, and she’s doing things her own way. She’s also very smart and funny.”

On how their collaboration came about, she revealed: “I actually DM’ed her two days before she asked me to jump on the remix, like, ‘Queen.’ I think that’s all I said. She was like, ‘Hey queen.’ I just went, ‘I love you.’ I wanted to show some love. I was on a love spree. I just DM’ed a bunch of pop girlies, like, ‘Queen.’ I just want to appreciate all the girls who are killing it.”

Zara sharing how supportive her fellow pop girlies are comes after she admitted she found it “strange” seeing people pitting her against Tate McRae.

The Swedish star supported the Sports Car hitmaker on the North American leg of her Miss Possessive Tour, and after the final concert in September, she reflected on the positive and negative reactions to their shows together.

She penned on Instagram alongside a series of snaps from the shows: “It’s a wrap on Miss Possessive tour! @tatemcrae thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your stage with me and my girls every night. I can’t explain how much I’ve appreciated the opportunity to give the people a little taste of a Zara set. I’m speechless at the amount of praise I’ve been getting over these past few weeks from your wonderful fans and online. With that being said, it’s been strange seeing some people putting us against each other when we’re just two pop girls who love and support each other back stage! (sic)”

Zara gushed over Tate and her entire touring crew and insisted she will “always have [her] back”.

She continued: “Not only are you insanely talented, something we all can tell from seeing you on stage every night, but you have an incredible team around you. The dancers, band, crew, team, drivers, and tech have been a joy to be around and I always feel like that says a lot about how a person works. You set the bar. You set the standard. You are a super star. Just know, I will always have your back! Thank you for this experience!!! (sic)”
