Zack Snyder: Doomsday is an unstoppable villain

Zack Snyder introduced Doomsday into ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ because he needed an "unstoppable force" to battle his superheroes.

The director scoured the supervillains of the DC Comics universe to find a foe worthy to battle the combined might of Batman, Superman and also Wonder Woman and he settled on Doomsday – a deadly monster born from the depths of ancient Krypton, the Man of Steel’s home planet.

Snyder said: "To go up against heroes like Batman and Superman, we wanted to introduce one of the DC Universe’s most iconic and powerful villains. He is essentially an unstoppable force. He poses a real threat to the world within the film."

It is clear from the ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ trailers that evil Lex Luthor – played by Jesse Eisenberg – has a big hand in the arrival of Doomsday, and the filmmaker has also confirmed that Lex

is the reason for the appearance of Diana Prince, the secret alter ego of Wonder Woman.

He added to Empire magazine: "You learn pretty early on that Lex is interested in metahuman existence, and that there might be some relationship between that investigation and the appearance of Diana Prince."

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ will see the two iconic superheroes, who are played by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill respectively, battle each other initially before teaming up with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) to save the world from being destroyed by Doomsday.

Jason Momoa will also feature as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash Barry Allen and Ray Fisher as Victor Stone aka Cyborg.
