WWE announce first ever all women pay-per-view

Stephanie McMahon has announced WWE ‘Evolution’ will be the company’s first ever all-women pay-per-view.
The historic show will mark the first time the sports entertainment giant has held a show exclusively featuring its female talent, with superstars from Raw, Smackdown LIVE, NXT and NXT UK joined by Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita for the event at New York’s NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Revealing the exciting news on Monday night (23.07.18), chief brand officer Stephanie said: "Because of all of you, men and women using your voices for change, we are able to provide the platform to show the world that women can do anything and be anything they want to be.
"Because of all of you, we are able to stand here and make another first-ever announcement. On October 28, over 50 women, then, now and forever, will participate in an event called Evolution, and that event — I am privileged to announce — will be the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view."
All four brands will see their women’s championships defended on the show, which will also feature the final of this year’s May Young Classic tournament.
Already announced for the huge event are Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax and Carmella.
Speaking after the big announcement, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque – WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative – praised the passion of the fans for inspiring change in the way the company treats it’s female performers.
He said: "Three years ago, our fans demanded a change with the hashtag, #GiveDivasAChance, and an evolution started.
"Since that time, our female Superstars have overdelivered in every opportunity presented to them, and I expect nothing different during our first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event."
