Victoria Ekanoye has dropped a huge hint her ‘Coronation Street’ character will get a new love interest.
The 35-year-old star’s alter-ego Angie Appleton has endured a rocky relationship with her serial liar husband Jude Appleton (Paddy Wallace), and she looks set to move on from the former gift shop worker, potentially with Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) – who she shared a kiss with previously – or another cobbles dweller over the festive period.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "She’s had her little dalliance with Adam, and there’s chemistry there, which there has been from the beginning and it’s continuing so … we’ll see.
"You never know, there might be somebody else on the Street that takes her eye … I don’t know. I’m not saying anything … maybe a Christmas kiss under the mistletoe?"
Victoria admits Angie needs a man who can "wear the trousers" after a torrid time with hapless Jude.
She said: "Ultimately, she needs somebody who is going to be able to wear the trousers, because she has for so long.
"She does need somebody
"Adam does tell it like it is. When they had a little kiss and he was like, ‘He’s a good man, and you know you don’t want this. You need to go.’
"I think she probably needs that."
Paddy recently confirmed Jude will depart the cobbles for good soon, paving the way for Angie to move on, but Victoria wanted the couple to work out their troubles.
She added: "I would’ve loved Angie and Jude to work it out but I don’t know how you can repair that broken trust.
"There’s so many lies.
"I think there’s been moments where she’s proud of the fact that he’s trying to do the paramedic job.
"She’s wants so much for it to be him getting himself together for them being able to work stuff out and become this family she’s wanted for long."
