Vanessa Feltz keen for EastEnders role

Vanessa Feltz is desperate to land a part on ‘EastEnders’.
The 56-year-old radio presenter is keen to appear on the BBC One soap because she believes the show should feature more "middle-class" Jewish characters.
She said: "Why don’t ‘EastEnders’ have more roles for middle-class, Jewish grandmas of 56?
"They need one and I’d love to do it."
BBC Radio London host Vanessa – who was born in London’s Islington, and grew up in Totteridge, north London – has insisted she would be a "marvellous" addition to the cast.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I’d be marvellous for the part."
Vanessa is no stranger to TV, having presented chat show ‘Vanessa’, and later ‘The Vanessa Show’ in the 1990s, and she also appeared in ‘Little Britain’ and the first series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
She has since been a regular on sister show ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’, and starred in 2002 comedy film ‘Once Upon a Time in the Midlands’.
Vanessa is not the only star who has recently admitted she would be keen to appear in ‘EastEnders’.
‘Peep Show’ actress Isy Suttie recently said she might have a chat with her ‘Damned’ co-star Himesh Patel, who played Tamwar Masood in ‘EastEnders’, about putting in a good word for her to potentially land a part on Albert Square.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I don’t think I’m really in ‘EastEnders’ casting directors’ minds, but maybe if I have a word with Himesh I could be.
"My character could be a knitter and she could knit something to cover her tracks, that’s a good idea.
"I will write it. If the part gets made then nobody else can play my part, it can’t be someone from ‘Downton Abbey’, it’s got to be me."
