Danny Dyer blasts ‘showbiz snobbery’

Danny Dyer says he struggles with "playing the game" in his career.
The 'EastEnders' actor feels other BBC stars such as 'Sherlock' actor Benedict Cumberbatch are taken more seriously than him and thinks there is "snobbery" in showbiz.
He explained: "You've got actors like Benedict Cumberbatch - a great actor, but he's a posh boy playing posh boys. He does it well, and he doesn't get mocked for that.
"I play working class people, and I get mocked for it. I'm stereotyped, he's not. I've done plays at the National Theatre, come off stage and gone into the bar and I ain't got nothing in common with those people.
"When it comes to playing the game, I'm rubbish. The middle-class actors are better prepped at working the system, because they've got more in common with the decision makers."
The 36-year-old star, who is known for being foul-mouthed on Twitter, also revealed that 'EastEnders' bosses have asked him to rein in his uncensored behaviour after signing up to work for public broadcaster BBC.
He told Woman magazine: "I sat down with the producers of 'EastEnders' and the Twitter thing was one of their main worries. But they have to understand that they've brought me into the show for my brand and there's a side effect of that.
"They're taking a risk with me and that's what's going to make it exciting. It's tough landing as high profile as 'EastEnders' because I have to be me but dumbed down, and I don't do that very well."

Frisky Business as sex shop TV series starts

'Frisky Business' will give an insight into the lives of staff at the UK's biggest sex toy retailer as the series kicks off tonight (26.03.14).
The Lifetime show, which goes behind-the-scenes at the Lovehoney warehouse in Bath in Somerset, will give viewers a cheeky peek into the bedroom antics of Britain's most adventurous couples.
Andrea, who works in the returns department at Lovehoney, told BANG Showbiz: "We are pretty excited about it. I think the [first episodes] are absolutely fabulous.
"I've been working there for five and half years and we have a great returns policy for customers - we've heard some funny stories of why they want to return items.
"One woman thought she was getting a lovely Valentine's Day present, a pair of diamond earrings, but her husband bought her a load of sex toys.
"She brought them back and wanted a refund so she could get her earrings.
"Some [also] tell us they want to change their 'boring' girlfriends when they return sex toys.
"I think there's a lot of people out there who are still a bit shy about sex shops [but] it is getting a lot better than it was."
The business was set up by former journalist Richard Longhurst and has now taken on the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' brand, inspired by the E.L James erotic novels, which has seen profits go through the roof.
Andrea said: "They are lovely products. We have the whip, the handcuffs, spanking cream, 'Fifty Shades of Grey' underwear selection and restraints.
"When the film comes out it will also help, I think it will be a bit tamer than the book, but I'm looking forward to it and it's good for business."
Andrea also hopes the six-part series will change people's perceptions of sex shops and customers who purchase sex toys online.
She added: "Sex isn't sleazy and us people working at Lovehoney are just doing normal jobs, we make customers happy and everywhere we go we're always having a laugh and a giggle."
'Frisky Business' premieres on Lifetime tonight at 10pm.

Tamzin Outhwaite: EastEnders is back to ‘glory days’

Tamzin Outhwaite thinks 'EastEnders' is back to its "glory days".
The 43-year-old actress, who starred as Melanie Owen in the BBC One soap, has praised producers for luring back top stars such as Lindsey Coulson (Carol Jackson) and Michael French (David Wicks) and thinks their returns have helped the show get back to its best.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm a big fan of Lindsey Coulson and Michael French, so having those two back is great, and then you've got Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) back as well. It's kind of like the glory days again."
However, Tamzin doesn't foresee a return for her own character, despite being involved in a number of high profile storylines, including a marriage to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), a turbulent relationship with Steve Owen (Martin Kemp) and an affair with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
She said: "I always say never say never because Mel's such a great character, but there's no-one left there that she would visit really, unless it was Ian. She's only got links to Ian and Phil and they're quite tenuous links now."
But the blonde beauty is glad producers didn't kill off Mel should she ever feel the urge to return.
She added: "I don't really like the idea of killing people off."
Tamzin - who has daughters Florence Elsie, five, and 19-month-old Marnie Mae with ex-husband Tom Ellis - also spoke of how difficult it is to get her children to eat healthily and explained why she's supporting McDonald's' Free Fruit Fridays campaign.
She said: "I think it makes it more of a treat if they can have a happy meal and get a free bag of fruit. That way they get two or three of their five-a-day, so for me, I'm behind it for health reasons."
McDonald's will be giving out a free Apple & Grape Fruit Bag with every Happy Meal purchased on the first Friday of every month. The next Free Fruit Friday is Friday 4 April.

Emmerdale’s Debbie Dingle has a ‘mini breakdown’

'Emmerdale's Debbie Dingle is to have a "mini breakdown".
The mechanic - played by Charley Webb - will be arrested for assault in tomorrow night's show (27.03.14) after she lashes out at an innocent man for flirting with her.
However, it all becomes clear that her aggressive behaviour is just a build-up of paranoia and insecurities from her controlling relationship with her killer ex-boyfriend Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).
Charley said: "It's a massive thing for her to be arrested and in this situation I think it freaked her out. I think she's having a mini breakdown and can't quite get to grips with herself like she normally does ... Even when the police come and see her, she's still vacant, it's like she's numb."
Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) steps in and persuades the man to drop the charges against the brunette beauty, which leads to the hunk sharing a smooch with Debbie.
Although, despite her knight-in-shinning armour coming to her rescue and the obvious sparks between the two, Debbie still doesn't feel ready for a relationship.
Charley explained to SoapSquawk: "I'm not sure if she's ever going to be ready to get involved with someone else again. That [her relationship with Cameron] will definitely scar her for life, she'd never really let anyone into her life before ... then she let Cameron in and he screwed her over.
"Now I'm not sure anyone will get in again, but if they do it'll have to take a long time."

EastEnders’ Lola Pearce run over by Ronnie Mitchell

EastEnders' Lola Pearce is to be run over by Ronnie Mitchell.
The teen mum - played by Danielle Harold - will be left fighting for her life after she is accidentally ploughed down by the blonde businesswoman (Samantha Womack).
Lola's family rush to her bedside after the fatal accident, which leaves Ronnie absolutely devastated.
The crash is set to bring back heartbreaking memories for Ronnie, who lost her daughter Dannielle Jones (Lauren Crace) back in 2009 when she was mowed down by Walford's serial killer Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
Meanwhile, show bosses previously promised that Ronnie, who fled Albert Square for two years after abducting Kat and Alfie Moon's (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) newborn son Tommy, would have a "darker" side to her.
Viewers recently saw Ronnie murder the nefarious Carl White (Daniel Coonan) - who had been wooing her sister Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) - and Samantha, 41, admitted the dramatic scenes have been an interesting challenge.
She said earlier this month: "It's strange coming back with such a big storyline and being a different character, but at the same time, it's like coming back to family ... they're all my family, they genuinely are. Even when you're dealing with a difficult storyline and it feels really weird and out of the normal, that's cool creatively. I'm embracing it."

Jamie Chung: I can’t watch fiancé in One Tree Hill

Jamie Chung is embarrassed to watch her fiancé in 'One Tree Hill'.
The 30-year-old beauty - who stars in Alfonso Cuaron's new TV drama 'Believe' - has revealed she got a "kick" out of Bryan Greenberg's role as angsty heartthrob Jake Jagielski in the hit teen drama but found it awkward to watch him.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I never really got into that show [when it was on air]. But we were together at a hotel and one of the episodes came on. I just couldn't ... it was so dated - the moppy hair, the chokers, the puka shell necklaces. I was like, 'I can't watch this, Brian, I'm so sorry.' I got a kick out of it."
The former reality TV star has built up an impressive acting career since finding fame on 'The Real World', and she admits she often turns to Bryan, 35, for career advice.
She explained: "It's always so much easier to think outside the box when it's not the project you're working on, and we certainly help each other. It's quite awesome to be in a relationship that understands the business. He's a lot more seasoned than I am and I feel like I get a lot more help from him. I couldn't have asked for anything better."
Jamie plays Channing in new US sci-fi drama 'Believe' and she feels incredibly lucky to work with the show's executive producer Alfonso Cuaron, who recently won an Academy Award for Best Director for 'Gravity'.
She gushed: "It was like a sweep ... six other Oscars! Before, I was like, 'Alfonso's a great director.'
"He's so down to earth and nothing really gets to his head. I was like, 'Holy crap, he's an Academy Award winner!'
"He's the best of the best and we had the opportunity to work with him.
"He's such a good person, and a hard worker, he really deserved it."
'Believe' begins on Thursday 27 March at 9pm on Watch (Sky 109/Virgin 124).

Lauren Goodger a ‘chipmunk’ after laser procedure

Lauren Goodger was left looking "like a chipmunk" after undergoing laser treatment.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star sparked rumours she has had plastic surgery after she was spotted with a fuller face earlier this week, but the brunette beauty claims her change in appearance is down to a skin peel procedure she underwent while she was in the US last week.
Writing in her new! magazine column, she said: "While I was in LA, I had a mild CO2 laser procedure done to my face, but that's it. It burns off the top layer of your skin so you develop new skin cells to make your face smoother, firmer and younger looking.
"I had it done around my eyes and mouth to bring out the natural collagen and the doctor warned me my face would stay puffy for up to two weeks afterwards.
"I looked like a chipmunk when I left the clinic, but it's calmed down since."
The 28-year-old beauty - who has had a nose job and breast enhancing surgery - claims she's never had Botox and insists her youthful looks are down to "good makeup"
She explained: '"I can assure you I haven't had anything done - it's just clever make-up."

Ricky Wilson: I’ll return to Voice if Kylie does

Ricky Wilson says he'll return to 'The Voice' - if Kylie Minogue does.
The pint-sized popstar is set to leave the BBC One singing competition after just one series because of her upcoming 'Kiss Me Once' tour, but the Kaiser Chiefs frontman says he signed up for the show to work with Kylie and would be bitterly disappointed if she didn't return.
He told The Sun newspaper: "We have known each other for such a long time.
"She is one of the reasons why I did it and one of the reasons why I'd stay. People like the show -- they like the chemistry."
BBC bosses are desperately trying to lure Kylie, 45, back for the next series of 'The Voice' after she threw plans into disarray by announcing her intention to leave the show.
The blind auditions for the fourth series would begin filming in November, but Kylie will be touring at the time.
She said: "I'm touring later this year and the timings wouldn't work.
"We started filming in November last year and I'm on tour in September, October and November this year ... I have loved doing the show although there have been parts that have been really emotional."
But a BBC spokesperson stressed the corporation is willing to accommodate Kylie's schedule in order to secure her services.
They said: "We are aware of Kylie's commitments and are looking to accommodate them."

Bruce Jones warns Michael Le Vell

Bruce Jones has warned Michael Le Vell to clean up his act.
The former 'Coronation Street' actor was axed from his role as Les Battersby in 2007 due to his alcohol problems and he is worried his co-star and pal, who was recently suspended for cocaine use, could end up losing it all like him.
The Kevin Webster actor has had a tumultuous 18 months that saw him face trial for alleged sex assault crimes. He was cleared of all charges in September and returned to the ITV soap recently, but has now been dropped again after admitting to Class A drug use.
Bruce told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I went to see Michael before his trial and wished him all the best and was looking out for him.
"I don't want what happened to me to happen to Michael.
"I ended up on the streets, completely broke with nowhere to go - it was an awful time. I know he can beat his demons though, he's stronger than me and a great actor."
Bruce, 61, has now turned his life around and has urged Michael, 49, to do the same by throwing himself into his work.
He added: "He's got to not be scared of life and get on with things. He needs to go and talk it out, he mustn't bottle it up."
