Tina O’Brien: Ryan Thomas was happy about my Coronation Street return

Tina O'Brien admits her ex-boyfriend Ryan Thomas was "pleased" she decided to return to 'Coronation Street'.
The 31-year-old actress, who plays Sarah-Louise Platt, has revealed Ryan - with whom she has six-year-old daughter Scarlett - was more than happy about her recent return to the ITV soap, in which he plays Jason Grimshaw, despite them no longer being together.
She told Now magazine: "Ryan was pleased I was coming back, he has been really supportive. From the very early stages I discussed it with him.
"He was really good about it and he said it would be brilliant for me.
"We are lucky. We are a very modern family. We spent Christmas morning all together this year for the first time. It was lovely."
Tina split from Ryan - who also played her on-screen husband - in 2009 and now has five-month-old son Beau with her personal trainer partner Adam Crofts.
The blonde beauty has also opened up about Sarah-Louise's upcoming on-screen romance with bad boy Callum Logan (Sean Ward), which will cause yet more problems for her brother David (Jack P. Shepherd), who is stepfather to Callum's son Max.
She shared: "I'm sure people think it's funny that the second she walks in, she hooks up with the guy who will cause most problems with the family.
"To begin with she isn't interested at all, it's only because David gives her a hard time that it almost pushes her towards him.
"It's going to be interesting to see a more daring side to Sarah, because she had a baby quite young she had to be more responsible back then."

The Voice star Sheena McHugh inspired by car crash

'The Voice' star Sheena McHugh's near-fatal car crash inspired her to write music.
The 26-year-old singer - who suffered from a broken back, torn spleen and perforated bowel in the accident - has revealed the "emotional" journey that followed helped her to find her "own voice".
Sheena underwent two years of surgery to treat her extensive injuries and was also left unable to speak for six months following the crash eight years ago.
She said: "The accident was horrible. But it led me to start writing my own music. It changed me in that I found my own voice.
"It was emotional rather than physical. It gave me a drive to write something that I'd never felt before.
"I just went into autopilot. I lost my speaking voice for three months and my singing voice for six."
The brunette beauty - who has made it into this year's live semi-finals which will air on Saturday (28.03.15) - added she is keen to "strike while the iron's hot" and release her music immediately if she were to win the BBC One show.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm not just going to disappear for a year, I think it's important to strike while the iron's hot. You need to have the material ready."

The X Factor loses Saturday night slot

'The X Factor' will lose its Saturday night slot to the Rugby World Cup.
The ITV singing competition - which usually airs on both Saturday and Sunday nights - will be forced off the channel on Saturday evenings when it returns later this year as the sporting event is to air instead.
ITV has paid for the rights to the upcoming 2015 Rugby World Cup - which will be played across the United Kingdom - and 'The X Factor's' primetime slot clashes with pool games and the knockout stages.
However, as bosses of the show are currently in the midst of a shake up they're planning to put together an extended Sunday show packed with big guest acts for five weeks this autumn.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It will give producers more freedom to play around with the format in the early stages and freshen up the show a bit as the Saturdays have become predictable."
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell is said to be the only judge confirmed for the next series meaning Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Louis Walsh and Mel B may all be replaced with new names.
Executive producer Richard Holloway said: "There will be some exciting changes. The name of the show will stay the same but we are looking at the format and the judges.
"There will be some surprises this year. But I can't go into detail."
Asked which judges will definitely have a seat on the panel, he added: "It's safe to say Simon is staying."

Kirk Norcross and Cami Li to reunite on Ex on the Beach?

Kirk Norcross and Cami Li are to be reunited on 'Ex on the Beach'.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star and his 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant ex-fiancee will reportedly come face to face on an upcoming series of the MTV reality show, with TV bosses hoping for fireworks between the pair.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "The show is forever coming up with shockers and this is big.
"There's bad blood between Kirk and Cami but who knows - they might just kiss and make up."
Kirk, 26, and Cami, 27, got engaged in 2013 after a whirlwind romance but parted ways when the tattoo model began feeling "trapped" in the relationship.
Speaking about their break-up recently, she said: "I'd rather stab my eyes with rusty nails that talk to him again."
However, it now seems they will be forced to address their issues if they take part in the show, which sees a group of singletons sent to live in a luxury villa before coming face to face with their ex-girlfriend and boyfriends.
Other celebrity couples who have featured on the dating show include former 'Geordie Shore' stars Vicky Pattison and her ex-fiance Ricci Guarnaccio and current stars of the MTV show and on-off lovers Charlotte Crosby and Gary 'Gaz' Beadle.

Ed Sheeran to appear in Home and Away

Ed Sheeran is to appear in 'Home and Away'.
The 'Thinking Out Loud' singer is set to make a surprise appearance in the long-running soap after visiting the set while on his current tour of Australia.
A message posted on the official 'Home and Away' Facebook page alongside an image of Ed posing on Summer Bay Beach reads: "Look who's been spotted in Summer Bay! Yep, your eyes do not deceive you, world renowned singer/songwriter, Ed Sheeran, recently visited the Palm Beach and Eveleigh sets of Channel 5's Home and Away to film scenes for an upcoming episode.
"He will appear as himself in the series, but storyline details about what brings Ed to Summer Bay are being kept under wraps for now.
"Ed's episode will screen later this year..."
The 24-year-old star - who was also pictured with actress Emily Symons who has played Marilyn Chambers in the soap for over 20 years - has confessed he's now looking to star in other shows closer to home.
Speaking about 'Home and Away', he told news.com.au: "It's an Australian institution. It's always on in my local chip shop.
"I got asked to do it and it sounded like it could be fun. I did 'Shortland Street' in New Zealand as well and I'm sure if 'Emmerdale' or 'EastEnders' ever ask me in England I would do that as well.
"I have got a point where I really, really don't care what people think so I'm doing stuff because I enjoy it now rather than because it might be cool. I am just in it for fun."

Natalie Dormer wants to ‘challenge perceptions’

Natalie Dormer hopes to challenge "people's perceptions" of her.
The 33-year-old actress, who starred as Margaery Tyrell in the HBO series 'Game of Thrones' and as Cressida in the 'Hunger Games' franchise, has revealed she's keen to push her boundaries as an actress by taking on different types of roles.
She reflected: "It got to the point where if there was a manipulative femme fatale who was going to be seducing the leading me, it was 'Call Natalie Dormer!'"
The English actress cited Matthew McConaughey as an example of an actor successfully changing the perception of himself, suggesting she'd like to follow suit.
She told SELF magazine: "Every actor, wherever they are on the hierarchy, gets put in a box to a certain extent. And isn't it wonderful when people like Matthew McConaughey can turn around and go: 'You thought I was this, but look what I can do!'
"You have to start challenging people's perceptions of you, and the perceptions you have of yourself, really."
Unlike some of her fellow actresses - and despite her glitzy appearance on the red carpet - Natalie actually advocates a casual approach to style.
She explained: "I think women should have style, but it should be undermined by a slight casualness.
"Like they haven't tried that hard, because the minute you're self-conscious about it, it doesn't really work anymore."

Ryan Thomas ‘really supportive’ of ex Tina O’Brien’s return

Ryan Thomas was "really supportive" of his ex Tina O'Brien's return to 'Coronation Street'.
The 31-year-old actress, who has six-year-old daughter Scarlett with her co-star, admits the 30-year-old hunk was very encouraging about her reprising her role as Sarah-Louise Platt on the ITV soap - in which he portrays Jason Grimshaw - and has been helping to look after their child when she is filming.
Tina - who also has five-month-old son Beau with personal trainer Adam Crofts - said: "I told him in the early stages that they'd spoken to me about returning to the show and he thought it was a really good idea.
"He's been lovely and supportive and has been really helping out with Scarlett as well.
"At the moment he hasn't been as busy at work so he's been able to pick Scarlett up from school, which has been brilliant because I've been working and that means Scarlett has some stability.
"She's really happy and getting to spend some time with her dad as well."
Tina has enjoyed being back on the 'Coronation Street' set and insists she will have no problem working alongside Ryan or Bruno Langley, who plays Ryan's on-screen brother Todd Grimshaw and who she dated for a year when she was 17, again.
She added to OK! magazine: "For me, it doesn't even come into things. It's not a problem, they're just anybody else.
"There are no issues and everyone's moved on. There's so much water under the bridge now, it's just boring really.
"It's just been really nice to work with everyone."

Jermain Jackman’s The Voice nerves

Jermain Jackman was "nervous as hell" when he performed on 'The Voice' on Saturday (21.03.15).
The 20-year-old star returned to the same stage on which he won the competition last year but admitted he had to visit the toilet on several occasions before his performance because he was suffering from anxiety.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I suffer from nerves really badly, even on 'The Voice' on Saturday I was nervous as hell. If you don't mind me saying I was s****ing it!
"I had to go to the toilet so many times beforehand. I was very nervous. I had to make sure I remembered my steps, as regards the dancing, and didn't want to fall off the stage, cough, cough Madonna, and had to make sure I remembered the camera points in time.
"There was a lot to remember but I really enjoyed it."
Jermain - whose self-titled debut album was released yesterday (23.03.15) - admits he still gets "star-struck" when he meets big-name stars, including his own 'The Voice' mentor will.i.am and the Black Eyed Peas star's fellow coach Sir Tom Jones.
He added: "Tom Jones is very humble, I bumped into him while I was rehearsing for 'The Voice' on Saturday and he was like, 'What are you up to? Are you OK?'
"People were trying to whisk him away but he wanted to talk to me. We were talking for about five to 10 minutes and he was just so humble and it was great to be in front of a legend and have that conversation with him.
"I still even get star-struck with will. I start getting all jiggerdy when we're talking."
Jermain Jackman's self-titled debut album is out this week alongside his new single 'How Will I Know' https://youtu.be/2E8g4zMoEhs

Filming begins for Doc Martin series 7

Filming has begun for the seventh series of 'Doc Martin'.
Martin Clunes is returning as Dr. Martin Ellingham, the grumpy GP with a fear of blood, and is currently filming on location in the picturesque Port Isaac in north Cornwall.
He said: "I'm thrilled to be back on the beautiful North Cornish coast to shoot series seven of 'Doc Martin'.
"The Doc has some serious work to do if he is going to persuade Louisa to come back."
At the end of the last series, viewers were left in shock when Martin's wife Louisa (Caroline Catz) decided to take their son James Henry with her to live in Spain after a life-threatening incident.
Dr. Ellingham knows he must now make changes in order to bring his family back to him.
Ian McNeice is set to return as Bert Large whilst Joe Absolom will reprise his role as son Al. With Bert working on more moneymaking schemes, Al follows his father's love of business and renovates Ruth's (Dame Eileen Atkins) farmhouse into a bed and breakfast.
Things don't go to plan though as their first guests are less than impressed with the B&B.
Armed with a newly-introduced taser gun, PC Joe Penhale (John Marquez) continues causing problems as he tries to keep the peace whilst receptionist Morwenna Newcross (Jessica Ransom) vies for a pay rise.
