Philip Glenister thinks 'Top Gear' is perfect the way it is.
The 'Life on Mars' star is reportedly in the running to replace Jeremy Clarkson as the main host of the show after the controversial presenter was sacked for attacking a producer and leaving him with a split lip.
And while the BBC are currently deciding on how best to bring the motoring show back, Philip doesn't think they should do anything drastic.
He said: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"I have been on it before in the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car slot. It rained when I did it so I had a 'w' next to my name for wet - or w****r."
The 52-year-old actor and self-confessed car fanatic is currently starring in the second series of his own motor show, 'For the Love of Cars' on Channel 4 but insists he's well aware it will never be as successful as the long-running series, which also features Richard Hammond and James May as presenters.
He told The Sun newspaper: "To make a show that is trying to compete against 'Top Gear', that is foolish. Ours is our own little beast."

Mark Wright "probably won't bother" to vote in the upcoming general election.
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant has confessed he doesn't want to get "stressed" out about it by investing too much of his time in deciding on who to vote for and instead wants to sit back and watch the results as they're announced.
He said: "I don't take loads of interest in politicians or politics actually.
"I probably won't vote. I've stuck to a thing of not voting and I think I should just stand back and watch.
"I like to watch it all happen."
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star - who is set to marry 'Ordinary Lies' actress Michelle Keegan next month - insists he doesn't want to become known for his political views in the same way as other celebrities.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Otherwise you end up getting wrapped up in something, like Russell Brand is, I'd be too into something that I don't really want to get stressed about."
Mark later defended his views on Twitter, writing: "It is important to vote but there is enough people voting (sic)."

Dermot O'Leary has congratulated Caroline Flack and Olly Murs after they were announced as the new hosts of 'The X Factor'.
The 41-year-old presenter took to his Twitter account last night (16.04.15) after the former 'Xtra Factor' hosts were confirmed as his replacements following his decision to step down from the ITV singing competition earlier this year.
He wrote: "Huge congrats to @ollyofficial and @carolineflack1 be gentle with the old girl...that's the show, not Louis. (sic)"
The announcement comes after weeks of speculation as to whether or not the former colleagues - who hosted the ITV2 spin off show together from 2011 to 2012 before Caroline was joined by Matt Richardson for a further year - would reunite on the main show.
Meanwhile, it's yet to be confirmed who out of last year's judging panel - Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Mel B and Louis Walsh - will be returning later this year after producers announced a shake up.
However, Simon has hinted that both he and Cheryl will be back while Louis has confessed he thinks his time is up.
He said previously: "I think I'm done with 'X Factor', honestly. My day job is a manager, I've kind of neglected that. I want to get back to being a manager."

Steve-O stalked Stacey Solomon online as soon as he met her.
The 'Jackass' star has revealed that he liked the former 'X Factor' contestant "right away" when they met filming 'The Jump' earlier this year.
Speaking to Keith Lemon on 'Celebrity Juice', Steve-O said: "We were in Austria for six weeks together (for The Jump) and pretty much on the first night I was just getting creepy and looking her up online. I liked her right away and we just started having a great time."
Stacey is also just as keen on the 40-year-old star, and has introduced him to her children, Zachary, seven, and two-year-old Leighton with the new couple taking the kids away on a mini-break to Cornwall recently.
However, the Essex-born singer admitted that she had never watched an episode of Steve's cult show, which saw a gang of daredevils led by Johnny Knoxville perform a series of dangerous stunts, including backflipping off San Antonio Bridge.
The 25-year-old 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' winner said previously: "I think I must've been quite young when he was on 'Jackass'. I obviously saw the movies when I got older but what he does is irrelevant, I just like him as a person. He talks about it, he's quite open about it and casual like, 'Oh, one time I did this', and I'm like 'Oh! Let's save that for after the watershed!'"

'Emmerdale' actress Emma Atkins has given birth to a baby boy.
The 40-year-old star, who plays Charity Dingle on the ITV soap, has revealed she and her businessman boyfriend Tom welcomed their first child "just before" her recent birthday.
She told The Sun newspaper: "We've had a lovely, healthy baby boy.
"He arrived just before my 40th birthday, which was the best present."
It was revealed earlier this year that Emma's character had been sent to jail because she was already eight months pregnant and had managed to continue filming without any of the viewers at home noticing.
A source said at the time: "She's been hiding her baby news from everyone outside of the show."
Charity has escaped punishment for insurance fraud several times before but soap bosses decided it would be a good idea to write in a two-year jail sentence so that Emma could go on maternity leave.
The insider added: "No one has guessed she's pregnant so didn't see Charity's prison sentence coming. Everyone assumed she would get away with it like she has so many times in the past.
"But the fact that Emma is pregnant gave the writers a perfect opportunity to finally punish Charity. She's going to be rotting in jail for at least a year."

Simon Cowell plans to make 'The X Factor' "unrecognisable".
The music mogul's friend Sinitta claims he is "on a mission" to change the ITV talent show and added he is the only judge on the programme who is guaranteed to return for the next series.
She said: "When I last saw Simon, there was a glint in his eye and I knew it was time for change.
"I can see there being more alterations to the point where it is unrecognisable.
"The only person guaranteed a place on the panel is Simon. He's on a mission and I don't think there's any stopping him."
Sinitta claims Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's stint as a judge on the show last year was forgettable and she had hoped for more fireworks between her and fellow panellist Mel B.
She told Heat magazine: "I think Cheryl's beautiful, but people just stared at her and didn't listen to what she was saying. I can remember her visually but I can't remember anything she really said.
"There was a lot of back-patting and doing each other's zips up [with Cheryl and Mel]. It was nice to be around but I was expecting more fireworks."

Natalie Dormer didn't have a backup plan if she failed at acting.
The 'Game of Thrones' star has always wanted to be an actress and even during lean periods of her career, she never considered giving up and doing something else.
She said: "There was no plan B. There can't be. It was always, 'This is who I am, I'm an actor.'
"I want to tell stories. I'm obsessed with exploring the human condition. The way humans navigate what it is to exist and facing morality as we tell stories.
"Because life's hard, you know? Look at the news, the world is unjust. It's my way of coping with it."
The 33-year-old actress insists she hasn't got a "grand plan" for her career but always looks for projects that will "challenge" her.
She said: "There's no grand plan. I just want to do good work.
"I study every script on a case-by-case basis of what I think is going to challenge me and make me grow."
The 'Hunger Games' star feels "grateful" that her success has come relatively late in her career.
She told Stylist magazine: "I'm kind of grateful that I'm a late bloomer because it's given me time to develop as a human.
"It's also about learning how the industry works, not taking things so personally and learning to - it sounds like a cliché because of the titles of the projects I've been in - play the game.
"If you don't enjoy the journey, if you're just striving to get there, what's the point?"

Caroline Flack and Olly Murs are to host 'X Factor'.
The pair - who previously fronted the ITV talent competition's sister show 'The Xtra Factor' - are to take over hosting duties of the main show following Dermot O'Leary's departure after nearly a decade at the helm.
The 'Wrapped Up' singer said: "I'm incredibly excited and proud to be returning to 'The X Factor' alongside Caroline. I love the show and it kick-started my career in music which has given me the opportunity to do what I love.
"I already have the best job in the world and it's about to get better - I can't wait to get started and be part of finding some amazing new talent!"
Whilst Caroline added: "I'm beyond excited about presenting The X Factor with Olly. To have the privilege of doing this with someone who makes me laugh out loud is a massive bonus!
"I'm also incredibly lucky to have the best tips and support from my showbiz big brother Dermot. I'm not sure how I can live up to his long term residency but I know I can't let him down!"
And the 55-year-old boss, Simon Cowell, is equally excited to see the "brilliant double act" make their return.
He said: "I am absolutely delighted Caroline and Olly are both returning to 'The X Factor'. When they were on Xtra together, they were a brilliant double act.
"Since then, Caroline's gone from strength to strength - and Olly has become one of Britain's biggest stars. So now I'm looking forward to them fronting the main show."

Daniel Brocklebank has faced abuse from churchgoers over his role as a gay vicar in 'Coronation Street'.
The 35-year-old actor - who also played the first bisexual character in 'Emmerdale' in the mid-2000s - has revealed he has received complaints about his 'Corrie' character Billy Mayhew from a "short-sighted" religious group who refuse to accept believe gay vicars could exist.
Daniel told The Sun newspaper: "One religious group complained that they were upset 'Corrie' wasn't showing a vicar who was trying to steer people away from sin - because in their view there were no gay vicars. How short-sighted."
The 'Shakespeare in Love' star - who also received a backlash when he was part of first man-on-man kiss in 'Emmerdale' history - isn't too bothered with the complaints, however, as he insists that putting homosexual characters like Billy on TV can only be a good thing in terms of educating people.
Daniel said: "I have spoken to a couple of openly gay clergy. They were pleased when they learned 'Corrie' was introducing a gay vicar because it's great to have the issue highlighted. I know the soaps are predominately about entertainment, but if you can educate at the same time then all the better."
The episode airing tomorrow night (17.04.15) will see Billy and his boyfriend Sean Tully - played by Anthony Cotton - face homophobia from the owner of a B&B.
