Craig Revel Horwood wants Dermot O’Leary on Strictly Come Dancing

Craig Revel Horwood wants Dermot O'Leary to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 41-year-old television personality quit his hosting duties on rival show 'The X Factor' after nearly a decade at the helm but he hasn't been short of job offers as the BBC One competition's judge has offered the star a role on the show as a dancer.
He said: "Now we can get Dermot, I'd love to see him dance on 'Strictly'.
"I've heard that he might be quite good actually."
And Craig, 50, is particularly happy that 'Strictly Come Dancing' champion Caroline Flack, joined by Olly Murs, is to replace Dermot on the show.
He added: "I think all the changes are very exciting. I know Dermot has been part of 'X Factor' for ages and of course we've had people on 'Strictly' that have come through, like Caroline for instance.
"It's quite extraordinary that it's taken a turn in that particular fashion but you know everything changes and as I say, I always re-cast my shows to keep them fresh and I think that's a good thing."
And Craig - who has appeared on 'Strictly' since it's inception in 2004 - isn't bothered if he finds himself being "re-cast".
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I wouldn't be horribly upset. I might get a much better paying job on ITV. Who knows?"

Amanda Holden’s Britain’s Got Talent role for life

Amanda Holden will be a judge on 'Britain's Got Talent' for "as long as it keeps running".
The 44-year-old actress and television personality has revealed she has had a personal assurance from the show's creator - and fellow judge - Simon Cowell that she will always be welcome on the panel until the show ends.
She said: "Will I bow out? Well, I don't know ... but if they beg me to come back, of course!
"Anyway, Simon's said that as long as it keeps running I'll be on it. Actually, I need to get that in writing from him, really!"
But if she ever does get the boot, she's made the 55-year-old music mogul promise to call her himself to tell her the bad news, a job which is usually handed to the head of the show's production company, Richard Holloway.
She added: "I've insisted he phones me himself, which he's never done with anyone else he's got rid of.
"Whenever Richard calls me, I ignore the call. I always tell people I'll always be on Britain's Got Talent because I'll never pick up that call or listen to the voicemail!"
And Amanda believes she has the "humble" qualities that Simon looks for when he picks a judge for the talent show.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I still feel new every time I start a series. Simon says I haven't changed. I still get so excited.
"Also I'm humble. I don't have an ego and don't take anything for granted, which I think are the qualities he recognises. He can't stand people who think they're bigger than the show."

Jasmin Walia eyes Bollywood movie

Jasmin Walia wants to star in a Bollywood movie.
The 'Only Way Is Essex' star has revealed she is keen to try her hand at acting and thinks being named 'Sexiest Asian in the UK' has helped her chances.
Speaking at last night's (17.04.15) Asian Awards, she told BANG Showbiz: "At the moment I'm doing TOWIE but ideally I want to get into acting and singing, and possibly, I'm working on acting in Bollywood. I would love to do that.
"The transition to Hollywood, I'd love to make that. It's something I just really want to do. I've had a couple of meetings and it did help - I'll just drop this in - I was named Sexiest Asian in the UK. I've been trying to network, and events like [The Asian Awards], it is a great event to network at.
"I'd love to be offered a small part. Even if it's just a small part that leads to a big part."
And the 24-year-old television personality already has some experience of acting, having attended theatre school as a young girl.
She added: "I went to a theatre school when I was ten and then TOWIE came along, which was great, and now I'm just trying to get back into it.
"A lot people said it's tough to come from a reality TV show, but I think it would be really unfair to judge me on a reality show. I think everyone should get a chance and so, hopefully, they'll get to see my talent through it. So, I would go and do the auditions. I would do all the auditions and just hope that they approach me."

Jermain Jackmain: Stevie McCrorie shouldn’t give up day job

Jermain Jackman thinks it's "amazing" Stevie McCrorie wants to keep his day job.
The 20-year-old singer - who was crowned king of 'The Voice' last year - has offered words of advice to this year's winner and admitted he is fully behind his decision not to give up his position as a fireman.
Speaking at the launch of the New Look Wireless Festival at London's Mondrian hotel, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "He is an amazing vocalist and I wish him the best of luck. I know what he is going through, the ups and downs and the rollercoaster. I would just say for him to stay focused, know what you want from it and enjoy the ride.
"The following Saturday I won, I had to return back to working in a library. I didn't think I'd win and I thought it would be rude if I handed in my resignation. People think that once you've been on The Voice that's it, you've made it. You need to stay humble and realise it comes with a lot of hard work, so being able to have that foundation of still having his fireman job that is brilliant."
Following his victory on the ITV show last year, Jermain has finally finished making his debut album and described the past 12 months as "amazing" after it was announced he was to perform at Wireless festival in summer.
He said: "Things have been going really well. It's been a year and it has been an amazing year being able to write my album, being able to release my album and to be performing at Wireless and to be performing on the same day as Drake."

Victoria Wood would date a 90 year old

Victoria Wood would date a "fit and healthy" 90-year-old man.
The 61-year-old comedienne - best known for playing Brenda Furlong in the popular TV comedy 'Dinnerladies' - has been single since splitting from her magician husband Geoffrey Durham in 2002 and has joked her best chance of finding a new partner would be to date a World War II veteran.
She told LBC Radio: "I am single, totally. I don't have much choice. You look at most middle-aged gentlemen and they tend to go out with ladies 20 years younger.
"If I was to find a gentleman it would probably be someone who has bombed Dresden. It would probably be someone about 90. I don't mind - there is nothing wrong with that as long as they are fit and healthy."
The TV comic - who has collaborated with Julie Walters on numerous occasions over the years - has also admitted she thinks comedy is really a man's job and it can be hard for women to break through because they don't always have the same competitive nature as guys.
She said:"Comedy is a man's thing, it is a competitive sport and it is not the way I do it. When you see me on TV that is all me. I do a good dowdy. I get asked to do more dowdy than I get asked to do glam. I always feel I haven't done that much. Because I've had children I don't have a huge back catalogue."
Victoria - who has two grown-up kids, Grace, 25, and Henry 21 - is currently filling her time working on a script for a new movie that she is eager to direct rather than star in.
She revealed: "It's a contemporary comedy, it's not northern. There might be a brass band, though."

Jenny Agutter was mistaken for Mary Whitehouse

'Call The Midwife' star Jenny Agutter doesn't "feel any different" to when she was a sex symbol in her 20s.
The 62-year-old actress accepts she is now longer the object of men's attention but was shocked when someone thought she was Mary Whitehouse - an English social activist famous for her censorship campaigns who died in 2001 aged 91.
Jenny - who appeared in nude scenes in 'Walkabout' and cult horror film 'An American Werewolf In London' - said: "I don't feel any different (now) but I know I'm not that young woman that (people) might have been fantasising about (any more). "(Someone said to me,) 'Oh! You're Mary Whitehouse!' I immediately went to the lavatory and had a look at myself. How old do I look?"
Getting older hasn't stopped the actress from getting work though. Having started acting very young in 'Railway Children', she has been landing roles ever since, and unlike some of her peers she's optimistic about the opportunities for older women in film and TV.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, Jenny - who plays Sister Julienne in 'Call The Midwife' - said: "There are many more women in the production of film, television and theatre. There are many more women visible in political, artistic and other roles later on in life and I think that the media industry has come to realise that their audience is not only 14 to 25 year olds. Women play a big part."

Kristian Kiehling wanted explosive EastEnders exit

Kristian Kiehling wishes his character Aleks Shirovs' 'EastEnders' exit included a siege and Nigel Farage.
The 38-year-old actor left the BBC soap in the episode that air last (16.04.15), after his market inspector alter ego discovered his girlfriend Roxy Mitchell had been cheating on him with her sister's husband Charlie Cotton.
Before exiting Albert Square, Aleks' was also confronted by Tamwar Masood for overcharging the market traders on their rents and pocketing the cash himself.
Kristian eventually made the decision to scurry away from Walford with his estranged wife and their daughter but he has revealed he suggested a more spectacular scenario for his departure to executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins, by sending him an article about The Siege of Sidney Street in 1911, where two Latvian anarchists held out in an East End tenement for seven hours against 200 police and armed soldiers, with thousands of Londoners looking on.
Kristian said: "I could picture myself holed up in the Queen Vic armed to the teeth and with my daughter at my side. The whole cast including Nigel Farage as a guest star could have been looking on. Naturally, such a scenario would have been way over the BBC budget, so we chose a somewhat muted exit. And, as a matter of fact, Latvians are generally not known to be very temperamental."
The Latvian actor also spoke about how much Rita Simons and Sam Womack - who play sisters Roxy and Ronnie Mitchell - made him laugh when they worked together on the soap.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Kristian said: "Rita was a great on-screen partner and made me laugh a lot in between scenes. With Rita and Sam Womack together on set, I had a hell of a time keeping a straight face."

Stevie McCrorie stopped gig for pesky wasp

Stevie McCorie had to stop a gig once because he was scared of a wasp.
The 'Voice UK' winner has a phobia of the stinging insects, and during a gig on Glasgow's Royal Concert hall steps last week he was besieged by a buzzing bug.
The wasp was trying to fly into his mouth and although he tried to carry on performing he had to stop playing his guitar and try and swat the insect away.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Stevie said: "I was singing and playing the guitar and I just stopped, trying to knock the wasp away. I just got caught up in the moment of the wasp, and suddenly realised there were about 1,000 people watching me, and I just said, 'I'm really sorry, I'm scared of wasps,' and then just started the song again. I'm really terrified of wasps, I was like, 'There's no way that's going in my mouth!' "
The 30-year-old singer admits it's been "scary" to have such big crowds coming out to see him on his homecoming tour, performing songs including his current single 'Lost Stars' - which is available to download now.
However he's adamant that he won't "get carried away" with the instant fame he's got from winning 'The Voice UK'.
He said: "People were getting crushed in the crowds at Glasgow, watching me perform and trying to get to me. It was like 'The Walking Dead'. It was pretty scary at one point. I don't let that get to me though, because it's all part of the TV show, and what matters ultimately to me is people who buy my album. I won't get carried away with the shot of fame that I've got. I know it will stop and calm down, and I want to keep my feet on the ground, because then I won't get let down if everything fails."

Stars in their Eyes axed

'Stars in Their Eyes' has been axed from ITV.
The Harry Hill fronted singing show - which launched in February - has been cancelled after just one series due to low ratings.
The show - a reincarnation of the hit 90s version fronted by Matthew Kelly - attracted just under two million viewers a week, compared to 10 million in its heyday, losing out on audience numbers to rival BBC One show 'The Voice'.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "There are no plans to bring it back.
"Bosses liked it but it just didn't resonate with the viewers."
It is thought the series - which sees contestants dress up and mimic their favourite popstars - has been unpopular as it offers no real prize for its talented winner unlike 'The X Factor' and 'The Voice', which offer recording contracts.
Meanwhile, Harry, 50 - who is best known for his 'Harry Hill's TV Burp' series - recently filmed a pilot for a new afternoon chat show.
The programmed, entitled 'Harry Hill's Tea Time' has been described as "TV burp meets cookery".
