June Brown is going blind

June Brown is losing her sight, but needs to work due to a financial crisis.
The 88-year-old 'Eastenders' actress - who has played Dot Cotton on the show for 30 years - has revealed that her sight is now so poor that the vision in one eye is sometimes reduced to looking like the cross-hairs of a rifle.
June said: "I see things in my eyes now. My eyes are not very good. In the left occasionally I do get this small circle with what looks like cross-wires. I do pray about my sight - maybe it will return."
June went on to reveal that the financial crisis has dramatically affected her pension plans, and she's worried about "being poor when I'm old".
In a BBC Radio 4 interview, she said: "You might laugh at that and think 'she'll never be poor when she's old' but I've not squirreled away lots of money. I've had two pensions each that have gone down by 50%."'
June's character Dot will receive her verdict in tonight's episode (18.05.15) of 'Eastenders', having been charged with murdering her evil son Nick Cotton, and the BBC soap swept the board at the British Soap Awards on Saturday night (16.05.15), winning eight gongs for their 30th anniversary efforts, including Best Soap, Best Actor for Adam Woodyatt - who plays Ian Beale - and Best Actress for Kellie Bright - who plays Linda Carter.

Stephanie Waring ‘not involved’ with Kym Marsh’s ex

Stephanie Waring has denied she is behind Kym Marsh's split with her ex Dan Hooper.
The 37-year-old actress - who plays Cindy Cunningham in 'Hollyoaks' - and the 38-year-old 'Coronation Street' actress were both in attendance at the British Soap Awards in Manchester last night (16.05.15), but Stephanie - who also recently split with 'The Apprentice' star James Hill - insisted that Kym's split from her fiance earlier this month has nothing do with her.
Stephanie said she only speaks to the 32-year-old fitness trainer for the sake of their four-year-old daughter Lexi, and doesn't understand why her name has been brought up in the break-up.
Stephanie said: "I just speak to Dan about Lexi and that's it. I've no idea how I've got involved in this. I'm really looking forward to tonight and I'll be at the after-party."
When asked by The Sun newspaper, whether she would let her row with Kym ruin her night at the awards, she said: "Hell no!"
Despite Stephanie's insisting that she's over Dan, a source believes her break-up with James was a way of letting him know the two can "give it another shot".
The source said: "It is strange Steph would break up from her boyfriend just as Kym and Dan are having time apart. It's almost like Steph is letting Dan know she still hopes they can give it another shot."

Nick Grimshaw will get X Factor job if he stops partying

Simon Cowell has warned Nick Grimshaw to cut down his partying if he wants 'The X Factor' job,
The 30-year-old Radio 1 DJ is rumoured to be signing a deal with ITV to replace Louis Walsh as a judge on the show, but the 55-year-old music mogul has made it clear that he won't tolerate excessive bad behaviour, due to the DJ turning up on his breakfast show drunk and also failing to show after a weekend in Istanbul.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "No one would expect (Nick) to be a saint, we'd want him to be himself. But obviously it's important that you turn up for work."
Grimmy hasn't denied a potential involvement in the ITV singing contest, but he insisted it is only "speculation" as nothing has been confirmed.
Speaking about the rumours, he previously said: "They're nothing but speculation which pretty much everyone's, who has had anything to do with music, names have been involved.
"So there's nothing more to that so far."
The 30-year-old star - who has previously announced his love for the programme on his radio show - admitted he would take the part if it was offered to him, but said he thinks 'Rock DJ' hitmaker Robbie Williams would also be a great judge.

Eastenders sweeps the board at the British Soap Awards

'Eastenders' swept the board at the British Soap Awards.
The BBC soap won eight awards at the event last night (16.05.15), including Best Soap, Best Actor for Adam Woodyatt - who plays Ian Beale - and Best Actress for Kellie Bright - who plays Linda Carter - topping off an incredible 30th anniversary year for the show.
The death of character Lucy Beale and the following 'Who Killed Lucy Beale?' story was named Best Storyline at the event held in Palace Theatre, Manchester, last night, while Kellie won a second award for Best Dramatic Performance.
As Adam collected the award on behalf of his colleagues, he spoke about the challenges of shooting 'Eastenders'' live episodes during which Lucy's killer was revealed.
The 46-year-old actor said: "Live week was ridiculous. It was a massive crew effort and there were 300 plus cast and crew involved."
Stars gathered at the event also took time out to remember late actress Anne Kirkbride - who died suddenly in January- whose post-humous Outstanding Achievement Award was accepted by her former 'Coronation Street' co-stars William Roache and Beverley Callard.
William, who played Anne's onscreen husband Ken Barlow on the long-running soap, said: "Anne Kirkbride was a wonderful, natural, instinctive actress who devoted her life to 'Coronation Street', becoming as much a part of the street as the cobbles themselves.
"Annie could make you laugh and make you cry in equal measure, though she would prefer to make you laugh. It has been an honour, privilege and a joy to work closely with her over the years."

Caroline Flack auditioning for Chicago

Caroline Flack is auditioning for 'Chicago'.
The 35-year-old 'Strictly Come Dancing' champion has been receiving acting coaching from theatre director Tom Attenborough and vocal training from singing teacher Claire Underwood, in order to prep for the role of Roxie Hart in the West End musical - the role that Renee Zellweger made famous starring in the film opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones.
A source told The Sun: "This is Caroline's absolute dream role. Her time on 'Strictly' reignited her passion for performing. That's why she's prepared to put herself through an audition. She is hosting 'X Factor' and 'Love Island' for ITV, so it's not like she needs the work, it's just a project she's very passionate about.
"She understands the risk of the audition and the fact it means she might not get the role. But at the same time she has a lot to offer 'Chicago' because her involvement would help sell tickets to the show."
The 'X Factor' presenter has previously come close to getting into a West End musical, having got down to the final three for a role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats', but Roxie has always been her dream role.
In 2013, Caroline said: "I'm obsessed with musicals. I have always wanted to play Roxie in 'Chicago'."

Ant and Dec buy matching holiday villas in Portugal

Ant and Dec have bought matching luxury holiday homes in Portugal.
The 39-year-old TV presenters - who already live on the same street in Chiswick, West London - have decided to treat themselves to the villas, which include private pools, sprawling grounds and their own bar areas.
With these homes, situated in the Keys resort on the Algarve, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will also have access to a professional standard golf course, an indoor gym, tennis courts, a fleet of chauffeur-driven cars, and a luxurious, private beach club.
A source close to the Geordie TV stars told The Sun newspaper: "Ant and Dec really are living the dream. They are not flash and and are down-to-earth Geordie boys at heart but they work so hard they deserve a bit of luxury."
The 'Britain's Got Talent' presenting duo won two BAFTAs on Sunday night (10.05.15), and are believed to have earned £6.4million between them last year, but Dec has revealed that he's heartbroken his dad, who passed away aged 78 in 2011 after losing his battle with cancer, won't be there when he gets married to his fiancee Ali Astall.
He said: "There is always someone you are going to miss and for me it's my dad.
"I always hoped he would see me marry, but these things happen in life. I know he is proud of me.
"My mum will be there though and all my friends."

Big Brother’s Jack turns down a £27,000 BMW

'Big Brother''s Jack McDermott turned down a BMW worth £27,000 to stay in the house.
As part of a live twist, last night's episode (15.05.15) of the Channel 5 reality show saw the 23-year-old McDonalds manager crowned the person who viewers believe should be the winner of the show at this point.
Jack was then called into the Diary Room where 'Big Brother' offered him the brand new car, which Jack wouldn't have been able to drive, as he hasn't passed his test. The twist was that if he accepted the BMW, he would have to leave the house immediately, and the £150,000 prize fund would not be awarded to the eventual winner.
Jack chose to turn down his prize and return to the House, leaving the prize fund untouched.
He said: "It's a no-brainer. I'm staying. We all came to play for the same thing. It might come back to bite me on the a**e but that's the choice I'm making. I'm staying in the house. I'm just going to carry on having fun and enjoying it."
'Big Brother' then dropped another bombshell on the housemates, and revealed that it was time for Nick Henderson - who has to nominate face-to-face throughout his time in the house due to the result of a previous task - to nominate.
He nominated Adjoa Mensah, explaining that it was "purely because I spoke to this person the least" and Sarah Greenwood, because she said money is her biggest turn-on in a task on Thursday night (14.05.15).
The rest of the housemates will nominate over the weekend.

Simon Cowell declares Italy’s ‘X Factor’ the best

Simon Cowell thinks the Italian 'X Factor' is "the best in the world."
The 55-year-old music mogul, who is a judge on the UK version of the show, reportedly heaped praise on the Milan-based reality TV series, as he helped launch the latest series today (15.05.15).
The SYCO Entertainment boss also unveiled the new members of the four-strong judging panel, which will feature international stars Mika and Skunk Anansie, the lead singer of Skin, as well as Elio from Italian band Elio E Le Storie Tese and Italian rapper Fedez.
Italy is the only country in the world where 'The X Factor' is broadcast on pay-television and the show airs on SkyUno, SkyItalia's flagship entertainment channel.
The British star was also in Milan to help announce the winner of 'Italia's Got Talent,' but slipped up on stage by accidentally declaring illusionist Simone Al Ani as the winner of 'The X Factor' on Thursday night (14.05.15).
Simon later took to Twitter to acknowledge his mistake, saying: "Oops. I just announced the winner of Got talent in Italy as the winner of the X Factor. Slightly awkward. Sorry.
"I think I will stick to being a judge (sic)."

Rebecca Ferguson wants Olly Murs and Caroline Flack to ‘date’

Rebecca Ferguson wants Olly Murs and Caroline Flack to "date".
The 28-year-old former 'X Factor' runner-up has admitted that she wants the two - who are replacing Dermot O'Leary on the upcoming series - to become romantically involved, as they have "great chemistry", despite the 31-year-old singer being loved up with Francesca Thomas.
Speaking at The Fragrance Foundation Awards 2015, held at The Brewery, London, on Thursday night (05.14.15), Rebecca told BANG Showbiz: (Dermot) has made his money, he's made his millions. He'll be alright. (Olly) will be good (as 'The X Factor' presenter). (He and Caroline) have the best chemistry, and I think we all love to watch them two, and we secretly want them to date. I think they've got a great chemistry."
The 'Nothing's Real But Love' singer also revealed that she thinks Nick Grimshaw - who has been heavily rumoured to be replacing Louis Walsh as a judge - will "add a new element" to the ITV talent show,
Rebecca said: "I think (Louis ) just wants to stay at home and watch ('The X Factor') on TV this year. He's a lovely person, he really is genuine and gets involved backstage.
"I've heard Nick Grimshaw's being lined up to replace him. He's quite young, cool, all the young kids love him, and he'll add a new element."
