Cheryl Fernandez-Versini limped into the London 'X Factor' auditions after burning her foot.
The 'Only Human' singer accidentally stepped on a pair of scalding-hot hair straighteners backstage at Wembley Arena yesterday (20.07.15) and suffered severe burns to the sole of her foot.
As the 32-year-old star was being treated by medical staff Simon Cowell explained to the audience why proceedings were held up for over an hour.
He said: "Cheryl has really hurt her foot ... It may need to be amputated. She still wanted to work."
Cheryl was then carried directly to her seat when auditions finally began and fellow judge Nick Grimshaw made light of her unfortunate mishap when the judging commenced.
He said: "Do you want to say anything, Cheryl, or is your leg too injured to speak?"
Cheryl - along with newbie judges Nick and Rita Ora - was the picture of health prior to the incident as the stars were chauffeured into the Wembley auditions in a vintage car by their boss Simon.

Stephanie Davis got "absolutely hammered" after being discharged from hospital just weeks before she was sacked from 'Hollyoaks'.
The 22-year-old actress had her contract with the Channel 4 soap terminated "with immediate effect" last week after she reportedly turned up to work drunk and it's now been revealed she's been partying non-stop for weeks.
During a trip to Marbella, Spain she posted a snap of a drip attached to her arm alongside the caption: "Wasn't how I wanted to spend my whole holiday."
However, sources claim that she was drinking again just hours after being discharged and even called in sick at work so she could continue partying.
A holidaymaker who met Stephanie at the Plaza Beach Party told The Sun newspaper: "Steph was absolutely hammered - she was all over the place.
"I asked to take her picture but she refused, saying that her 'Hollyoaks' bosses weren't supposed to know she wasn't still in hospital.
"She said she was supposed to be filming that day but had told them she was still ill, while actually she was throwing back cocktails with us. She was quite brazen about pulling the stunt, too. I remember her saying, 'There's no way I'm going to let my whole holiday her go to waste.'
"I guess that's the kind of behaviour that got her fired."
Stephanie has played Sinead O'Connor in 'Hollyoaks' since 2010 but is said to have infuriated bosses recently, leaving them with "no choice but to fire her".
However, her character is not being killed off and the brunette beauty could be allowed to return in the future once she's had a chance to address her behaviour.
Following the news that she'd been sacked, Steph wrote on Twitter: "I would like to thank all of the fans for your continued support and not believing everything you read. I'm excited to embark on a new...
"Adventure and already excited with things to come! U guys have been amazing and I love you all!!! Thank you ! Stephanie xxx (sic)."

Sir David Frost's son Miles has died aged 31.
The businessman - who was a founding partner of private equity group Frost Brooks - reportedly collapsed while jogging near his family home in Oxfordshire on Sunday (19.07.15) leaving behind shocked friends and family who said there were "no signs that anything was wrong".
Family friend Lord Chadlington said: "Miles was a wonderful eldest son who was very well loved by all his friends and family.
"This is a terrible shock. I had breakfast with him last Thursday and he was in great form. There was no signs that anything was wrong. It just underscores the fragility of life."
The news comes just two years after his broadcasting legend father - who presented current affairs shows including 'The Frost Report' and 'Breakfast with Frost' for more than four decades - died of a heart attack aged 74 while on board the MS Queen Elizabeth cruise ship.
A post mortem examination is now set to take place on Miles - who is survived by his mother Lady Carina Fitzalan-Howard and brothers Wilfred, 29, and George, 28 - following his sudden collapse.
Lord Chadlington told the Daily Mail newspaper: "There will be a post mortem examination but all we know is that he collapsed while jogging.
"The Frost family are extremely close and they will all miss him terribly, as we all will. It is hard to lose a loved one at any age, but 31 really is difficult to comprehend."
Another friend paid tribute to the keen athlete - who had previously run a half marathon in the Lewa Game Reserve in Kenya - describing his death as "a terrible shock".
He added: "Miles was in great form recently and seemed really fit and well. It's a terrible shock and everybody feels desperately sorry for his mother and brothers. He was a wonderful man who has gone far too early."

Myleene Klass felt "betrayed and crushed" when she split from Graham Quinn.
The 37-year-old beauty has admitted she was left "broken" after she divorced the bodyguard, with whom she has Ava, seven, and Hero, four, in 2013.
She shared: "I thought I'd never smile or trust anyone ever again. I felt so betrayed and so crushed.
"You imagine other people have the same values as you. I wouldn't walk out on my family. I've got so much pride - I wouldn't take anything from anyone. I certainly wouldn't take a family home."
And despite having a tough time dealing with the separation, Myleene has insisted she tried to stay strong for the sake of her children.
She told The Sun newspaper: "But I couldn't wallow in it and sob. I said to my mum and dad, 'I'm broken, but I will not sink.' I just had to keep going, because my girls would be up every morning asking me to make breakfast or fetch their recorders. My girls saved me.
"It's taken a long time to get here, and a lot of soul-searching ... But no one will ever put me through that again, so help me God. My girlfriends told me to turn up that little voice inside my head again and I did question certain things, but I put it aside because I wanted it to work for my family.
"Now I look back and think it was the best thing that could have happened to me. Don't get me wrong, I'll never speak to him again, and I'm not thankful that it happened to me, but I'm not a grudge-bearer. It was a very quick 'culling session' that could have potentially happened in my 50s. But it happened in my 30s and knocked me into the real world."

'Life on Marbs' star Jordan Sargeant thinks Sam Faiers and Lucy Mecklenburgh are "mean girls".
The 23-year-old beauty went to school with former 'Only Way Is Essex' stars Sam and Lucy and current cast-member Billie Faiers and has compared them to the bullies in the hit comedy 'Mean Girls'.
Jordan exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "They were like the mean girls at school, they had their little group, they were like the plastics - that's what they called themselves.
"They were like the popular girls, Billy and Sam were always like that at school, Lucy was in the group, that's the way they are, they have always been the same."
Jordan - who manages the sales team at a magazine in Marbella - is one of 12 women and nine men starring in the new ITVBe reality show.
And she insists she has no regrets about leaving Essex and its mean girls behind in favour of living the high life in Spain.
She explained: "I've met so many new people, it's opened my eyes, my life is not just Brentwood and Essex. And I'm not a typical Essex girl either, I have my head screwed on."
Meanwhile, Jordan insists she has no plans to jump ship to join best pal Ferne McCann on 'TOWIE' in the future.
She added: "I just think this is such a better show and a better opportunity, its new and its exciting."
'Life on Marbs' kicks off on July 22 at 9pm on ITVBe.

Tess Daly has admitted it was a "hellish time" when Claudia Winkleman's daughter was injured in a fire.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' host has spoken out about the accident her co-host's nine-year-old daughter Matilda was involved in last Halloween, which saw her costume go up in flames when it came into contact with a candle, to confess it was a difficult time for Claudia, her family and everyone close to them.
Speaking about how Matilda is getting on, Tess said: "It was a hellish time but Matilda is doing really well now. She is a gorgeous girl with a great sense of humour, just like her mum."
The 46-year-old beauty - who has daughters Amber, 10, and Phoebe, six, with husband Vernon Kay - also admitted she and Claudia are great friends on and off screen.
She told HELLO! magazine: "I'm lucky to work with someone I genuinely care for. When I'm in London I'll often pop in to see her for a chat and tea, or just to show her a new pair of shoes. When we go to an event, we get ready at her place."
And Tess loves that Amber and Phoebe can play with Matilda and Claudia's sons Arthur and Jake.
She added: "Our kids get on well, too. We recently took the girls to see Taylor Swift in concert in Hyde Park and Phoebe and Matilda were inseparable, popping in and out of the fun photo booths."

Andrea Faustini thinks Stevi Ritchie and Chloe Jasmine Whichello are "a weird couple".
The former 'X Factor' finalist competed against the singers while taking part in the ITV show last year and admitted they were "weird" on the show so thinks they will be even stranger together, having recently got engaged.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "They are a weird couple but I think it could work. They are weird individually and together. I think, if they love each other it's fine."
However, the 21-year-old singer - who released his debut album 'Kelly' on Friday (17.07.15) and performed a selection of tracks from the record on shopping channel QVC - insisted he wasn't surprised to see them get together following so much speculation about their relationship.
Asked what he thought when he first heard that they'd got together, Andrea said: "I was not really shocked because I was expecting it a little bit. There were rumours about them when we were in 'The X Factor' house."
Meanwhile, the rising star also revealed that he and his mentor on the show, former Spice Girls star Mel B are still in contact over seven months after the contest ended.
He explained: "We have been in touch a few times with messages and stuff. She was so supportive during the show and she kept showing me support even when the show was over."

Leslie Ash feels "really awake" after quitting anti-depressants.
The 55-year-old actress was left disabled and with permanent spinal injuries after she contracted a strain of the deadly super-bug MRSA in 2004 and she's now revealed it wasn't until recently that she stopped taking medication to help her forget about the pain.
She explained: "When you've got nerve pain they tend to give you anti-depressants which tell your brain that you're not in pain so it takes away about 50 per cent of the pain and I just thought, actually, I don't like them, because they don't let you finish your conversation or finish your sentence even.
"You have big bits of your life missing and so I really wanted to get off them and I've taken quite a long time to get off them because it's not something you can just suddenly come off and I feel really awake now, it's brilliant."
The 'Men Behaving Badly' star also opened up about her struggle with learning how to walk again.
She told ITV's 'Lorraine': "It's taken about 11 years from doing pilates, yoga ... You find a balance of what works for you and it's either use it or lose it basically. So I work very hard at my fitness and to basically train my body to balance using different neurological pathways."
And now that she feels herself again, Leslie is hoping to return to acting.
She added: "It's a profound grief losing your identity, my job. I used to love acting, I still do act but not as much as I did ... It'd be nice to try it medication free because then instead of concentrating on your balance you might be able to do a bit of acting as well."

Amelia Lily was shocked to hear Nick Grimshaw had joined 'The X Factor' judging panel.
The former contestant on the ITV talent show has admitted she never expected the BBC Radio 1 DJ to join the show despite numerous reports claiming he was in the running before the announcement was made.
She said: "To be honest with you I never thought Nick Grimshaw would have been a judge on 'The X Factor' but he's different, I guess and it's always good to change it up."
However, the 'You Bring Me Joy' singer - who was mentored by R'n'B singer Kelly Rowland on the eighth series of the show - said she is looking forward to seeing how new recruits Nick and Rita Ora get on.
She said: "I love watching it, I'm quite excited to see the new judging panel."
Meanwhile Amelia, 20, has bagged herself a part in the new Green Day musical 'American Idiot' and was chuffed when her boyfriend Steve Rushton, 27 - who previously dated Miley Cyrus - was cast in the show.
She told ITV's 'Lorraine': "When he auditioned, I was praying he'd get the part because he's the biggest Green Day fan."
"I was very young when the band first came out but what's amazing about this show is that it doesn't just appeal to Green Day fans, but anyone who enjoys musical theatre.
"Steve doesn't play my boyfriend in the show. He has his own love interest and I have mine. It's quite funny actually. It's great and we we love it."
