Matt Lucas’ inspirational letter to young alopecia sufferer

Matt Lucas sent an inspirational handwritten letter to a young alopecia sufferer.
The 'Little Britain' star - who has suffered from the same chronic hair loss himself since he was just six years old - reached out to 10-year-old Jacob Fitzpatrick shortly after his mother got in touch with him on behalf of her son.
Speaking to Airbnb about his condition as part of their new 'Airbnb Daily Kindness Bulletin', Jacob said: "I didn't know why it was happening or anything like that, so I didn't really know what to do. I was scared people would judge me, or stare at me."
Jacob's mother, Sarah Fitzpatrick, wrote to Matt - who stars in the 10-year-old's favourite show, 'Come Fly With Me' - after he had been diagnosed with alopecia.
Explaining how the 41-year-old comedian's touching note gave her son a much-needed confidence boost, Sarah said: "To actually write that note which was really personal to Jacob and obviously personal to him as well, really showed what sort of person he is and how kind he is."
Although he still occasionally experiences bald patches and mild hair loss, Jacob believes the letter helped to get him on the road to recovery and has now almost completely overcome the condition.
He added: "Thank you to Matt Lucas for helping me through this alopecia and boosting my confidence."
Airbnb has launched the 'Airbnb Daily Kindness Bulletin' to remind people of man's kindness despite 67% of Britons believing that man is becoming more unkind.

Linda Robson turned down Strictly

Linda Robson turned down 'Strictly Come Dancing' because she doesn't want to be a "joke".
The 'Birds of a Feather' actress was approached to appear on the new series of the BBC dance contest but declined the offer because she knows she wouldn't be able to remember the routines.
She said: "You have to know your capabilities. I could not learn one routine.
"I did 'Let's Dance For Sport Relief' and I could not remember the routine and I had three weeks to learn it.
"I would be the joke one if I went on the show and I don't want that. I don't mind people laughing with me but my kids would be traumatised."
However, the 57-year-old actress thinks her 'Birds of a Feather' co-star Lesley Joseph, 69, would do brilliantly on the show, despite older contestants not usually making it through to the later rounds of the competition.
She added to the Daily Star newspaper: "Lesley would be good. She would be fantastic."
While Linda won't be taking part, Jamelia, Peter Andre, Michelle Heaton and Shane Richie are expected to be among the famous faces competing for the mirrorball trophy when the programme returns later this year.

‘Emmerdale’ star Anthony Quinlan: I’m unlucky in love like Pete

'Emmerdale' star Anthony Quinlan is as unlucky in love as his character Pete Barton.
The 30-year-old actor - who split from his make-up artist girlfriend earlier this year - claims his love life is as disastrous as that of his character on the ITV soap, who is preparing to marry his cheating fiance Debbie (Charlie Webb) who is planning to run off with his brother Ross (Michael Parr).
Anthony said: "People say I'm quite like Pete in many ways but luckily things are quieter for me personally. I'm single at the moment but that's OK, I'm all right with that."
The former 'Hollyoaks' hunk - who previously dated Michelle Keegan - confessed that while he's happy on his own for now, he is hoping to find his soulmate one day.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Of course I'd love to meet the right person and eventually I'd like to get married and start a family but there's no rush, I'm still only 30.
"I'm so busy at the moment it would be hard to find time to meet someone. The days we do on 'Emmerdale' can be really long, but I never say never.
"I've realised I'm not that great at compromising so I need someone who's all right with that but I'm happy as I am for now."

Gemma Collins: Katie Hopkins is ‘fattist’

Gemma Collins has labeled Katie Hopkins "fattist".
The 'Only Way Is Essex' star went head-to-head with the 40-year-old TV personality on her new TLC panel show 'If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World', and the pair clashed over overweight people paying for two seats on a plane, with Katie saying big people are lazy.
Gemma - who is a size 18 and has a successful clothing range at Evans - said: "What Katie was going on about is she's basically a fattist - she's obsessed with people that are fat. Even though she couldn't stop complimenting me on how beautiful I was when she met me backstage, she's basically gunning for fat people.
"She's out to shock and nothing can shock the GC."
The 34-year-old star star went on to insist that the former 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant - who she likened to Hitler - was scared by her famous GC death stare.
Gemma told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "To be fair, being next to the GC in person she ended up being like a puppy dog.
"When the GC stares you right in the eye, you know I mean business. She knew by the tone of my voice that I wasn't going to take any crap.
"The thing is - in the nicest possible way - she's like Hitler. She's just got very out-there opinions. She's just a little keyboard warrior."
Gemma also revealed that when the cameras stopped filming, Katie was very interested in her "designer vagina".
She added: "It's kind of ironic that after Katie dug me out for being fat, she now loves me and is really interested in my DV."

Danielle Harold’s final EastEnders scene aired

Danielle Harold's final scenes as Lola Pearce in 'EastEnders' aired last night (28.07.15).
The 23-year-old actress - who announced that she was leaving the BBC One soap after four years last month - was seen on Albert Square for the final time in last night's episode, a spokesperson has confirmed.
Lola bid an emotional farewell to her on-screen grandfather Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) - who she affectionately refers to as "Pops" - while stood outside Walford East station as he pleaded with her to stay.
Lola's decision to leave the Square came after Jay Mitchell was arrested for a robbery that took place in connection with Lucy Beale's murder last year.
Viewers saw her pack up her bags before announcing that she was heading to Newcastle.
Following her final episode, Danielle took to her Twitter account to show her fans some appreciation.
She wrote: "Iv had the most amazing time playing Lola Thank you so much for your lovely messages .. (sic)"
The blonde beauty also spoke out after it was announced her character was to be written out of the east London-based soap earlier this year.
She said previously: "I've had the most amazing time at 'EastEnders' having been involved in some exciting storylines, including giving birth in a live scene.
"I'll miss everyone here and am looking forward to the future."
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said of her departure: "Danielle is a fantastic actress and I genuinely look forward to seeing her shine in future roles away from Square."

Chyna set for Celebrity Big Brother

Former WWE star Chyna is in negotiations to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The retired female grappler-turned-porn star - real name Joan Laurer - is reportedly in advanced talks to enter the house and bosses are very keen for her to be part of the line-up due to her previous wild antics on other reality shows such as 'Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew'.
A source told The Daily Star newspaper: "Chyna isn't exactly shy and retiring. She will be up for having a lot of fun in the house."
Chyna - who has posed naked for Playboy - was one of the biggest stars in WWE in the 90s.
Dubbed the "Ninth Wonder of the World" she dominated the company's women's division and even held titles traditionally only held by men.
However, she left the company in acrimonious circumstances in 2001 after her real life romance with wrestler and now WWE Executive Vice President Triple H ended and he went on to embark on a relationship with his now-wife Stephanie McMahon - the daughter of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
Following her departure, Chyna began a relationship with grappler Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman and the pair made their own sex tape which was released in 2004 under the title '1 Night in China'.
The success of the tape resulted in Chyna - who has overcome substance abuse issues - becoming a fully-fledged porn star appearing in several X-rated movies, including an 'Avengers' parody in which she played a randy She-Hulk.
As well as her adult entertainment career, Chyna, 44, made a brief return to wrestling with US company TNA but has has been teaching English in Japan since January 2012.
Other names in the frame for 'CBB' - which will have a UK versus US theme - include X-rated superstar Jenna Jameson, Danniella Westbrook, Sherrie Hewson and Farrah Abraham - who also appeared in an adult movie.
The next series kicks off in August.

Kym Marsh getting back to her ‘old self’

Kym Marsh is feeling "back to her old self" again.
The 'Coronation Street' actress was left devastated earlier this year after splitting from fiance Dan Hooper but after throwing herself into work and spending time with her friends and family, including kids David, Emilie, and Polly, she is slowly getting over her heartbreak.
She said: "I'm feeling in a really good mood as work is going really well and all my children are happy.
"I feel like I'm getting back to my old self after what has been a pretty hard year.
"I've been spending more time with my parents, my kids, and my friends and it's just been brilliant for me to do that, as we're all so close - I'm in a really good place now."
Kym also confessed that she finds working out helps improve her mood.
She added to OK! magazine: "The gym is good for my head as well as my body - I'm feeling great at the moment and a lot of that is because I'm back exercising regularly.
"I've been trying to do three sessions a week with my trainers and I'm totally on it now. I must be, as they told me to eat smoked salmon and scrambled eggs when I got back from the gym one morning last week and I did - and I don't even like smoked salmon."

Emily Berrington is ‘slightly robotic’

Emily Berrington is "slightly robotic".
The 29-year-old actress was unsure where to take it as a compliment when her friends told her she would be "perfect" for her 'Humans' role of Niska - a 'synth', or robot, who looks just like a real person and has human characteristics - but has now "accepted" the likeness between herself and her character.
She said: "When I got the part, a few of my friends said, 'Oh my God, you are perfect for this.' I was like, 'Is that a compliment?'
"I once said the same to Gemma Chan, who plays Anita. We've both accepted we've got something about us that is slightly robotic."
Emily admits the subject matter of the popular drama series has made her think and she has even given up using self-service machines in stores.
She told Grazia magazine: "It's got people's imaginations going. Friends have said the show has made them wonder whether they'd get [a synth] or not for their home.
"When I got the part, I went away and read a lot on artificial intelligence and it's terrifying. It's even made me think about self-service checkouts in supermarkets. I don't use them any more because it should be a human doing the job."

Jodie Kidd hints that Top Gear needs female presenter

Jodie Kidd thinks 'Top Gear' needs a "woman's angle".
The 36-year-old star has been one of the favourites to join BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans on the BBC motoring show ever since Jeremy Clarkson was sacked for punching a producer earlier this year and she's now spoken out to reveal she thinks they should "definitely" hire a female presenter.
She said: "Women are buying cars - it's the norm - so you need a woman's angle.
"Because we're different, men and women, and it's great to listen to a car expert who is a woman."
The blonde beauty also insisted that if she were to join Evans on the line-up she wouldn't be worried about reaching the same level of fame as her pal Clarkson.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Walking down the street, all over the world he's recognised, but it wouldn't put me off for anything. No! I love doing my car presenting."
Jodie's comments come after she rubbished claims the show - which was previously hosted by Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - wouldn't work with a female host.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "If someone told me I couldn't race or drive well because I was a woman, it would just make me more determined. It's a rush."
Meanwhile, Chris previously claimed he would love to have a woman join him on the show, as long as they were right for the job.
He said: "I want people who are extremely knowledgeable about cars, I want to have people who have great energy, people who have good timing, people who have warmth about them, people who are keen and eager to do things differently."
