Theresa May congratulates Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Theresa May has led congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle upon their engagement.
Prince Charles announced earlier today (27.11.17) that his son, 33, and the 36-year-old actress are to marry next spring, and politicians and celebrities have taken to social media in their droves to praise the pair on the news.
The Prime Minster wrote on Twitter: "I would like to offer my very warmest congratulations to HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle upon their engagement.
"This is a time of huge celebration for two people in love and, on behalf of myself, the Government and the country, I wish them great happiness for the future."
Rather than a standard congratulatory message on social media, comedian Jack Whitehall – who is a friend of Harry’s – was keen to know whether he would be invited to Harry’s stag do.
He tweeted: "1. When is the stag do? 2. Can I come? (sic)"
Former Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: "Congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Wonderful news and I wish them a long and happy life together."
TV presenter Holly Willoughy shared a ‘This Morning’ Instagram post and wrote: "Soooo exciting… congratulations! (sic)"
Former ‘X Factor’ star Rylan Clark Neal wrote: "OH I LOVE IT! #PrinceHarry #MeganMarkle #RoyalWedding xxx (sic)"
The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes wrote: "Love a royal wedding (sic)"
Harry’s family were also delighted with the news, including his grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
A message on the Royal Family Twitter account read: "The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness."
His brother Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine said: "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."
The ‘Suits’ star’s parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, have wished the couple – who have been dating for around 16 months – a "lifetime of happiness" together.
They said in a statement: "We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.
"We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together."
