The Vaccines talk sex and love on new album

The Vaccines’ next record is all about "sex and love".
The ‘If You Wanna’ hitmakers are currently wrapping up writing their follow-up to 2015’s ‘English Graffiti’ and frontman Justin Hayward-Young says that romantic and racy lyrics have always been the subject of their records because that’s what he cares about most.
Asked what has been inspiring the lyrics, he admitted: "Sex and love, and love lost. I really I became very self-aware a couple of years ago. I was insecure about the fact that all I sung about was sex and love. I realised its all I care about. So I’ve kind of come to terms with that."
The 29-year-old rocker says fans can "200 per cent" expect the album to drop in 2017.
He told NME magazine: "We’re kind of wrapping up the writing now – I think that will be done in the next month or two. Then we want to record it in the new year. When can people hear new music? Definitely next year, 100 per cent. 200 per cent."
The band – also comprised of Freddie Cowan and Anri Arnason – have been working hard every day since their drummer Pete Robertson quit the group in June.
He said: "We’re really far along, that’s what we’re doing all day everyday at the moment.
"I mean we’re not recording it yet, but we’re writing a lot – and I mean we have a lot. There are a few songs we’re really excited about."
Being in studio has brought Justin and his band mates Freddie Cowan and Anri Arnatson closer together as they felt with their last record they’d stopped being a band.
He added: "We’re in the studio every day playing together, so it feels a lot more like a band again, which maybe ‘English Graffiti’ stopped slightly. I guess it replenishes some of that spirit and that energy of the first record."
