The Paul O’Grady Show won’t return

‘The Paul O’Grady Show’ will never make a return.
Paul O’Grady – who picked up the Special Recognition prize at the National Television Awards this week for his work on ‘For the Love of Dogs’ – is adamant he’d never make another series of the popular chat show, which ran from 2004 until 2015, because he’s had "enough" of interrogating celebrities about their lives and their high-profile careers.
Speaking to the Radio Times magazine, he said: "No, I wouldn’t go back to do the talk show, no. I did ten years of that and that was quite enough.
"You become like a market trader in the end. ‘Tell me about your film! Tell me about your book! Tell me about your play!’ There were very few raconteurs who came on and would say, ‘Oh yeah I’ve written a book but let me tell you about this.’ "
However, the 62-year-old presenter has his hands full with other projects anyway as he’s just about to start filming the next series of ‘Blind Date’ after he took over the reboot last year – 14 years after it was taken off air – from his late friend Cilla Black.
He told Digital Spy: "I didn’t [enjoy it] the first time round, to tell you the truth, because it was so chaotic, but this time now we’re a new set, a new production team, so yeah.
"It was odd sort of because Cilla, I was so close to her, I found myself turning into her! I really miss her, because I spoke to her every day and saw her at least twice a week. She was a hoot, Cilla. She was like my sister."
