Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s luxury sportscar up for sale

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s favourite car is being sold off by her family for just £8,000.
The reality TV star and socialite tragically died in February this year [2017] at the age of 45 from a perforated stomach ulcer.
The silver, 2004 BMW 645i convertible was once described by Tara as her, "pride and joy". But it is being auctioned off, with proceeds going to her nephews and nieces, who the childless star is said to have doted on.
The classic car is listed in good condition with an asking price of just £8,000 when it goes under the hammer at the Imperial War Museum in Cambridgshire on November 15. It is registered in the name of James Palmer-Tomkinson – Tara’s brother.
When the luxury sports car – which has a plum leather interior – was stolen as part of a notorious car-theft ring in 2005, Tara said: "It’s my pride and joy. If anyone can help me I will be happy to treat them to dinner."
The vehicle was recovered at Birmingham Airport and saved from being shipped abroad. It was parked outside the star’s Chelsea flat when she died suddenly in February, still filled with her favourite CDs and empty take-away containers.
Nick Lumby, senior specialist for H&H Classics, said: "You wouldn’t necessarily buy one for the school run but the BMW’s 6-series convertible is surprisingly practical for a high-performance soft-top.
"It certainly has the ‘feel good factor’ that’s for sure. For a 4.6 litre V8 it can get 30mpg on a leisurely run on the motorway and it really is a lovely car to drive."
Petrol-head Tara loved cars, appearing on BBC motor show ‘Top Gear’ in 2002.
