Tamzin Outhwaite makes Afterlife plea

Tamzin Outhwaite has "never wanted to be in a TV programme more" than ‘Afterlife’.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress – who confirmed last month she has filmed her final scenes as Mel Owen – is desperate to land a role in the second series of Ricky Gervais’ sitcom, after loving the first series, and she would even settle for a part as an extra.
She wrote on Twitter: "Afterlife!!!!!! I’ve never wanted to be in a telly program more….
apart from The Pink Windmill show as a kid.
There’s somebody at the door… (sic)"
Tamzin also tweeted Ricky asking if she could be a background artist in the Netflix sitcom.
She tweeted: "Oh my days… can I be an extra in it please? Or just be held in that room with that motley crew ? @rickygervais @TracyAnnO (sic)"
Tamzin previously praised the show and said she was going to re-watch the first series.
She wrote: "Isn’t it brilliant? Im going to watch the whole thing again this week. I am sure I must have missed bits and I like the way it makes me feel. Substance. Loyalty. Real love. Hilarious , emotional and rooted in reality. (sic)"
Tamzin isn’t the only Walford wonder to have expressed a desire to appear in the second series of ‘Afterlife’.
Jessie Wallace recently used Twitter to ask if she could star in the programme, after Ricky confirmed he was penning a second season.
The Kat Moon actress wrote: "can i be in it? (sic)"
And former ‘Coronation Street’ star Hayley Tamaddon – who previously starred as Andrea Beckett on the cobbles – replied: "Exactly what I said! (sic)"
The pair’s messages came after Ricky thanked fans for their praise after the first series aired on Netflix.
He tweeted: "Thanks again for all the love for #AfterLife. I have never had a reaction like this. The reviews have been great but the response from viewers has been fucking amazing. And that means so much more to me. You are the best fans in the world. Oh, and I’ve started writing series 2. (sic)"
Tamzin, Jessie and Hayley are not the only soap stars who have publicly praised ‘After Life’, as Nitin Ganatra – who recently departed his ‘EastEnders’ role as Masood Ahmed – said the "thought-provoking" and "uplifting" first series would sit with him "for a long time".
He wrote: "Just finished #Afterlife What an experience. What a remarkable, moving, sad, depressing, thought-provoking, joyful, uplifting, truthful, life affirming piece of work. Congratulations @rickygervais and @charlietantrum and all involved. Its going to sit with me for a long time. (sic)"
