Tori Spelling was hospitalised for an ulcer and migraines.
The 'True Tori' star spent at least six days at a medical facility in Los Angeles last week after reportedly failing to keep any food down and suffering from severe headaches.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Tori's head hurt so much, she couldn't have any light in her bedroom and she couldn't keep any food down from the ulcer. She was in a great deal of pain and was very scared."
Friends believe Tori's health scare stems from extreme stress brought on by her husband Dean McDermott's confession to infidelity late-last year.
The source explained: "She was just so run-down and ragged from the affair fallout."
However, despite airing her marital breakdown on her lifetime reality show, the 40-year-old actress asked for the cameras to stop rolling during her hospital stint.
The source added: "For Tori, nothing is off-limits to the cameras. But production was not allowed to follow Tori into the hospital. She needed peace and quiet with no pressure."
Tori - who has children Liam, seven, Stella, five, Hattie, two, and Finn, 20 months, with Dean - was discharged from an undisclosed clinic on Saturday (26.04.14), but kept her pink hospital band on her wrist as she headed home.
It is believed Dean was by Tori's side throughout the duration of her stay in hospital.
A source said previously: "Dean would arrive by 10am and didn't leave until 8 most nights. He seemed very stressed out and worried."

Miley Cyrus is feeling "much better" following her severe allergic reaction.
The 'Adore You' hitmaker was hospitalised earlier this month after her body rejected Cephalexin, an antibiotic prescribed for the flu, but she insists she's on the road to recovery and she can't wait to resume her 'Bangerz' tour.
Speaking in a radio interview on 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest' today (28.04.14), she said: "I'm doing good. I'm much better ... happy to be getting back on the road. You have no idea."
The 21-year-old singer admits her five-day stay in hospital was so boring that she ended up splashing her cash on a hot pink mini-skirt that she'll probably never wear.
She explained: "I ended up doing way too much online shopping, and whatever they had me on to make me not in pain, I made some very questionable choices on what I bought. I don't know what this hot pink mini-skirt is that I bought in the hospital."
However, the blonde beauty insists one good thing did come out of her health scare and that was getting to ride in an ambulance for the first time.
She joked: "I went on my first ambulance ride. That, I was excited about."
Miley, who was forced to reschedule her US tour dates earlier this month, is looking forward to taking to the stage in Europe next month, but admits her allergic reaction can still flare up over the next 27 days.
She explained: "I should be all good ... it [the reaction] can happen for 5-27 days ... so it can come back within those 27 days but I've been very good."

Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell have been charged with disorderly conduct.
The couple, who have been married since 1992, were arrested on Saturday (26.04.14) after officers paid a visit to their home in New Canaan, Connecticut, to investigate a domestic "dispute", according to a police statement.
The police arrived at the scene at 20:00 local time after they received a phone call from someone at the home address, who then hung up without speaking.
Upon arrival, officers believed it was a case of domestic violence, but found very minor injuries.
Police chief Leon Krolikowski is quoted by Sky News as saying: "There was aggressiveness on both sides."
No further details about the dispute were released.
The pair, who have three children Adrian, Lulu and Gabriel together, were set to appear in Norwalk Superior Court, Connecticut, today (28.04.14).
Speaking outside the courthouse, the couple's lawyer Allan Cramer claimed the encounter that led to the arrests was "much less than nothing" and the pair have never had a disagreement like this before in the past.
Paul, 72, who has won 12 Grammy awards, first found fame as one half of the folk duo Simon and Garfunkel, while Edie, 48, was the lead singer of the band Edie Brickell & New Bohemians.

Diversity would like to be invited to Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards' wedding.
The dance troupe - who shot to fame after winning 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2009 - would love to watch the couple, who got engaged last August, tie the knot in the near future.
Jordan Banjo, who has been linked to Perrie's Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson in the past, exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It would be nice to go to their wedding."
Meanwhile, Perri Kiely is also hoping to receive an invite to the romantic nuptials as he's a "big fan" of the Little Mix girls and believes they're "incredibly talented".
However, the street dancers may need to wait a little while longer for their invitations as Perrie and Zayn are yet to set a time and place for their big day.
Although, Perrie, 20, has her heart set on having a Disney-themed wedding reception based on Mikey Mouse and his friends.
She said previously: "I do love Disney so [a themed wedding] would be amazing.
"I'm a big child. We are both big kids!"

A source told RadarOnline.com: "There is currently no date for filming to begin on Lindsay's 'Inconceivable' ... producers are having trouble getting money for the project. There is always the problem of insuring Lindsay for movies. Her diva behaviour, not showing up on time, or at times, Lindsay doesn't even arrive at all. It's very likely this movie will never get made.
"The only reason 'Inconceivable' was pitched at Sundance was an attempt to garner interest and create buzz about the project. It didn't. Lindsay is currently in Europe attempting raise money for the project, but isn't having any luck."

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have joined the mile high club.
The couple - who married by Lake Como in Italy last year - got hot and steamy under the sheets while they were flying first class to Thailand to visit the Sports Illustrated model's parents.
Chrissy made the racy revelation to the latest US issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, saying: "We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first class. We were under a blanket. We weren't even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that!"
Chrissy, 28, insists she and John, 35, are comfortable being openly affectionate with one another when they're in public and she says the musician likes it when she wears a dress so he can slide his hands along her thighs.
She said: "We're by no means freaky-deaky, but let's just say, we're open to things. We're very OK with PDA. When we go to a restaurant, he loves when I wear a dress, so he can do some upper-thigh rubbing."
Chrissy played it cool when they first hooked up after they met on the set of his 2009 single, 'Stereo', since she didn't want to scare him off and just enjoy their time together.
She confessed: "I'm not going to lie. We hooked up. [When he went on tour] I left him be himself for a while. The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, There's so much more out there. I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, 'What are we?' Marriage was never my goal, because I've never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him."
