Madonna ‘inspired’ to donate money to Detroit

Madonna was 'inspired' to donate money to Detroit.
The 55-year-old singer recently visited her home city in Michigan and has said she wants to "give back" to the community by gifting donations to three different organisations.
According to Access Hollywood, the 'Like A Virgin' singer is set to provide a new facility for the Downtown Youth Boxing Gym - which provides free boxing lessons and mentoring to children.
She also plans to help 'The Empowerment Plan' which employs women in shelters to sew garments for the homeless, as well as buy new equipment, and art and music supplies for the Detroit Achievement Academy.
Madonna has said in a written statement: "I was deeply inspired by the efforts of so many people who I met who have dedicated themselves to helping the kids and adults in Detroit elevate themselves from the cycle of poverty. ... It was obvious to me that I had to get involved and be part of the solution to help Detroit recover.
"A piece of my heart will always be in Detroit, and I'm humbled to be able to give back to my community."
The statement also said that Madonna's donations to the three organisations represent "the first phase of a long-term commitment to" the city.
It is yet to be revealed how much the singer - who grew up in Bay City, Michigan, and the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills - has donated to the cause.

Joe Manganiello named Hottest Bachelor

Joe Manganiello has been named People's Hottest Bachelor.
The 'True Blood' hunk triumphed over the likes of Jared Leto, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Smith and Britain's Prince Harry to take the publication's title, and in an accompanying interview he admitted he is "at his best" when not single.
He said: "I'm at my best when I have someone to wake up next to."
The 37-year-old actor credits his Italian background for his "passionate" nature.
He said: "I am part Sicilian. I am passionate. I am a hot-blooded person. If you don't like spicy, then maybe I'm not for you."
And the 'Magic Mike' star believes it takes time to properly fall in love.
He explained: "I think the crazy love that you fall into in the beginning turns into 'like' and 'need.' Chris Rock told me that!
"He's like, 'Kid, you wanna get married? Listen, there's love, and you can feel love the first night, but that's not what it is. It's, 'I like you and I need you.' "
Joe also admitted he loves playing a werewolf on 'True Blood' because he is so attracted to the smell of a woman.
He said: "I'm big into smell. It's funny I got cast as a werewolf. There's something about the smell on that part of a woman's neck where it meets the jaw, ahhhh! It's heaven."

Nick Cannon doesn’t want famous kids

Nick Cannon doesn't want his children to be famous.
The 'America's Got Talent' host insists he and wife Mariah Carey feel they should share pictures of three-year-old Moroccan and Monroe on their social media accounts because the twins have "fans", but he doesn't want them to pursue showbiz careers of their own.
He said: "I actually don't want them to be in the business, but I understand that people have fallen in love with them and [they have] fans and stuff."
However, Nick and Mariah are releasing a children's book, 'Roc and Roe's 12 Days of Christmas', which features the youngsters as their main characters and the 'Wild 'N Out' star is delighted to see his kids "come to life" in print.
He said: "They're like the new Raggedy Ann and Andy, the adventures of Roc 'n' Roe,' to see my kids come to life in a story book and all this other stuff."
In 2012, the 33-year-old star was diagnosed with autoimmune disease lupus and has learned the best way to fight bouts of chronic fatigue is to stay as busy as possible.
He explained in an interview with E! News: "So my concept is, the more that I go and the more that I push and I stay on that regimen [in the gym, eating right], it kinda keeps me going so my body doesn't get the opportunity to kinda be like, 'Oh, I'm tired.' "

Ella Henderson: My boyfriend is so supportive

Ella Henderson claims her new boyfriend is "so supportive" of her career.
The 'Ghost' singer, who has been dating Matt Harvey, who lives in her hometown of Grimsby in Lincolnshire, East England, since January, is happier than ever, particularly as she wasn't looking for love when she met the engineer.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I don't want to jinx anything, but it's been one of the happiest points in my life.
"He's so supportive of me and it's going great right now. My man and my family are the things that bring something different to my life and keep me grounded.
"This year I wanted to focus on myself and my career, so finding a relationship was unexpected. It's just like this bonus thing that makes me so happy."
The 18-year-old singer - who shot to fame after appearing on 'The X Factor' in 2012 - admits her career success is "surreal" for Matt, but she credits her relationship with her first proper boyfriend for keeping her down to earth.
She said: "It must be surreal for my boyfriend to see the situation I'm in now. Him and family must think, 'Oh, how can we make her happy?' She's got everything she ever dreamed of. But it's the normal things, like sitting at home watching a film with him, that can make you the happiest at times.
"It's that normality - you can't beat it. Without them I wouldn't be the grounded girl that I am and I plan on staying that way."
Ella releases her debut album 'Chapter One' in September and has had plenty of advice from Simon Cowell, who signed her to his Syco record label.
She said: "When I sat down at first with Simon Cowell he said, 'Whether this takes three months or three years, it doesn't matter. This has got to feel right.' So I waited until I felt ready. I didn't want to do anything half-hearted."

Cheryl Cole’s rosy 31st birthday

Cheryl Cole enjoyed a rose-themed 31st birthday party over the weekend.
The 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer, who infamously got a rose tattoo that covered her lower back and entire butt last year, was treated to a lavish three-tier birthday cake adorned in the thorny flowers and several bouquets of red roses.
It's not clear who organised the surprise celebration, but the birthday girl - who officially turned 31 yesterday (30.06.14) - looked pleased as she posed for a picture on Instagram with a cocktail in hand, in front of the roses and a romantic arrangement of candles.
Cheryl captioned the picture: "Happy birthday to me!! such a beautiful night... Thank you for all your well wishes #stunning#surprise (sic)"
The brunette beauty - who recently began dating French restaurant owner Jean-Bernard Fernardez-Versini - declared the impromptu bash her "best birthday ever" in another Instagram shot of her sumptuous birthday cake.
She wrote: "Red velvet Rose decorated Birthday cake #AllRoserrrything #Bestbirthdayever thank you for your messages (sic)"
Cheryl continued the birthday fun on her actual birthday on Monday, as she was thrown another party on a private plane on the way to 'X Factor' auditions in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The star posted a snap with Jean-Bernard and her fellow talent show judges Mel B and Simon Cowell, who all sported party hats.
She wrote: "Birthday selfies on the way to Edinburgh yes. That is Simon in a blue party hat #blame@officialmelb (sic)"

John Barrowman has ‘champagne problems’

John Barrowman has "champagne problems".
The singer-and-actor is unable to tour his new album 'You Raise Me Up' until next May due to his upcoming TV commitments, but he insists he would never moan about his hectic schedule because he loves his job.
Speaking to Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2, he said: "The tour doesn't start for a year because I don't have time, I'd love to do one in the next couple of months but I've got 'Arrow', and TV shows with the BBC and Channel 4.
"You've just got to pull it out - as my mum says, you can sleep when you're dead ... It's a busy life and there are times you have to make decisions, it's champagne problems to have though, I cannot complain, I don't complain and I love it."
John, 47, is particularly "proud" of his album as it was funded by his fans and he believes that's given him more freedom to make the music his audience want to hear.
He said: "I'm probably the most proud of this album than any of the others I've done, I think it's the best I've ever done and I say that not only because of the brilliant arrangements because my fans funded the album, they basically paid for it.
"Rather than them handing over the money, there's a system called pledging, so we would do things like afternoon tea, let's say they paid £100, they got the CD and they had tea with me, there was about 50 people who did that with me, so I really feel my fans were a part of this and it's dedicated to them."

Helena Bonham Carter finds parenthood hard

Helena Bonham Carter is worried she's doing "badly" at parenting.
The 48-year-old actress admits finds it difficult juggling her career with caring for Billy, 10, and Nell, six - her children with partner Tim Barton - and she is often left feeling she isn't doing anything as well as she could.
She told HELLO! magazine: "Juggling motherhood with acting is hard and I'm always dropping balls all the time. You always feel you're doing everything badly.
"Tim's taking time out now and I think I'll do the same. We're trying to be parents, which is harder than anything else."
Helena knows she is in a "lucky" position with her career, but admits her busy schedule leaves her exhausted.
She explained: "The multi-tasking is tiring. I'm not saying it's a big deal, not if you enjoy your work, and I'm lucky enough to make a living from something I love, but there's always something."
Despite the actress' mother Elena suffering a breakdown when Helena was five, and her father Raymond left paralysed and partially-blind after surgery for a brain tumour seven years later, the 'Alice in Wonderland' star insists she had a perfect childhood and hopes to be as good a parent as her own.
She said: "I had a very, very happy upbringing. I hope I can be half as good a parent to my children as they have been to me. And I know Tim is a great father."

Coleen Rooney’s luggage ‘ransacked’

Coleen Rooney has claimed her luggage was "ransacked" after arriving two days late to Las Vegas from London Heathrow airport.
The 28-year-old star took to Twitter yesterday (30.06.13) to blast British Airways after thousands of pounds worth of her personal belongings were allegedly snatched from suitcase en route to her holiday destination.
She tweeted: "Feel sick..... just received my 4 cases 2 days late from BA Heathrow to Las Vegas. Opened them all and they have been completely ransacked.
"Bags, shoes, bikinis, clothes, toiletries, underwear, pj's, make up, toiletries taken. Disgusting & the customer service getting is terrible (sic)."
The brunette beauty - who is married to Wayne Rooney - then took a swipe at people who claimed she had enough "money" to replace the alleged stolen items.
She hit back: "And you can stick all the sarcastic comments about money.
"It's not all about money it's about people going through my personal stuff and taking stuff that I need for my holiday."
She later added: "They have even took my toothbrush!! Why?? (sic)."
Coleen and her husband - who have sons Kai, four, and 13-month-old Klay together - decided to soak up the sun in the city in Nevada after Wayne's England national soccer team failed to get past the first stage of the FIFA World Cup competition in Brazil last week.

Jennifer Lopez cuts knee during iHeartRadio performance

Jennifer Lopez sliced her knee open at the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party in Miami last weekend.
The 44-year-old singer got a little carried away with her dance moves during her performance of her 2001 hit 'I'm Real' at the two-day festival as she ended up needing stitches in her leg after scraping it across the stage.
The brunette beauty didn't seem fazed by the unfortunate accident at the time, but later took to her Instagram account to share a gruesome picture of her injury.
She accompanied it with the caption: "#imfine #anotherdayattheoffice #butterflystitch #stilldoingthekneedroptomorrownight #showbusiness #theresnocryinginbaseball #lol #jloaka (sic)."
The 'On The Floor' hitmaker shared another snap just a few hours later of someone seeing to her knee backstage as blood seeped through her fishnet tights, but she assured fans she was "fine".
Meanwhile, Jennifer - who recently ended her two-and-a-half year relationship with boyfriend Casper Smart - took her mother Guadalupe Rodriguez and her six-year-old twins Max and Emme, who she has with her third ex-husband Marc Anthony, along to the event for support.
A source said at the time: "Max and Emme enjoyed the pool and had a great time ... Her mum enjoyed her show and danced to all of her music."
