Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are reportedly trying to work through their marital issues.
The couple's relationship allegedly hit the rocks recently after an argument reportedly led to Portia seeking treatment in rehab for drug and alcohol problems, but the duo are keen to repair their romance and move on.
A source told PEOPLE.com: "They've had their ups and downs. Portia has been very outspoken about previous issues, like her eating disorder, and she's good at seeking help when she needs to.
"They've worked out difficulties in the past, and no doubt they're trying to work out any problems right now."
The couple enjoy renovating properties together and it is believed their argument stemmed from Portia feeling like she had taken on one of the projects alone.
The source explained: "At times Portia felt overwhelmed at all that goes into redoing a house and moving to another, no matter how lucrative it may be.
"She felt like she was doing everything herself and needed some downtime."
Meanwhile, friends of the pair believe they will have patched up their differences by next month and will celebrate six years of marriage by renewing their vows.
The source said: "They both love to celebrate special occasions and holidays, and their wedding anniversary is no different. They usually celebrate with a big party and invite a lot of friends. They really are a lovely couple. They enjoy being married, and it shows."

Jenny McCarthy has set a date for her wedding.
The former Playboy model, 41, has revealed she and her fiancé Donnie Wahlberg, who proposed to her in April, will by tying the knot "very soon" and she's now in a rush to find the perfect gown for her big day.
Speaking on 'The View' last night (08.07.14), she said: "I will say that. It's soon, it's very soon so if you guys have dress ideas please send them."
The blonde beauty is also trying to get in shape for when she walks down the aisle, but admits she's running out of time and is far from prepared for the romantic nuptials.
She hinted: "It's soon [enough] that I should be on a treadmill as we speak or at least getting a manicure. Can you see these [nails] I am just, like, not ready at all."
Meanwhile, Jenny has already decided that she won't be a busty bride when she gets hitched because she doesn't want her cleavage to draw too much attention.
She said previously: "I don't want to be too busty in my wedding dress. I think when brides are too busty it takes away from the beauty of the bride. It will be form fitting, but not too over done."
Jenny - who has a 12-year-old son Evan from her marriage to John Mallory Asher - has also ruled out wearing pink or white on her big day.
She added: "So that leaves us with a few more colours in the rainbow."

Khloé Kardashian was dreading turning 30.
The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star, who celebrated her milestone on a private yacht in New York last month, admits she was worried about leaving her 20s behind but was curious about the next chapter of her life.
She told E! News: "I was really freaking out to turn 30. I think everyone does ... I was really freaking out and I would not accept it and I think I'm slowly like, you know, let's put the 20s behind me and there were some good years and some not so good years so let's hopefully have the 30s be all good years.
"Everyone says that the 30s you get this different sense of confidence and you lose all of your insecurities."
The brunette beauty admits it was her sister Kim, who has 12-month-old daughter North with husband Kanye West, who made her worry about growing older.
She explained: "[Kim] said the day you turn 30 you're going to find a wrinkle that you never thought you had!"
Kim asked: "And did you not find it?"
Khloé joked: "My face now is getting old because of you, because you give me the biggest complexes!"

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are reportedly seeking relationship counselling.
The long-term couple have had private meetings with Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr., who officiated Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding in Florence, Italy, in May, to help save their romance after it recently hit the rocks.
A source told TMZ.com: "Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. is actually counselling Kourtney and Scott over their relationship problems."
The pair - who have been together for eight years - have called on the pastor for advice after they had a number of arguments over Scott's alleged out-of-control partying.
The duo's relationship woes kicked off last month after Kourtney, 35 - who is expecting the couple's third child - reportedly threw Scott out of their rented property in the Hamptons, New York, following a furious row over his heavy drinking and wild antics.
Despite the regular disagreements, friends of the pair insist it won't mean the end for the couple - who have four-year-old son Mason and two-year-old daughter Penelope together - as they regularly get into arguments over the same topic.
A source said previously: "Same old s**t. They fight, get back together, he parties, she doesn't like it."

Pamela Anderson has allegedly filed for divorce from Rick Salomon.
The 'Baywatch' star, 47, has reportedly decided to legally terminate her six-month marriage with the film producer for the second time, according to TMZ.com.
The blonde beauty married Rick in a small wedding ceremony at The Mirage in Las Vegas in October 2007, but just two months later she announced they had split.
Pamela requested to have their marriage annulled in February 2008, citing fraud as the reason.
Last October, the busty star admitted on television that she and Rick - who appeared in Paris Hilton's sex tape 'One Night in Paris' - were "friends with benefits."
Earlier this year, Pamela announced she had remarried Rick, just after the poker player won $2.8 million in the World Series of Poker Big One for One Drop, but she refused to give details about their wedding ceremony.
Meanwhile, Pamela was previously married to Tommy Lee in 1995 and has sons Brandon and Dylan with him, but the couple divorced three years later in 1998.
She later married Kid Rock - whose real name is Robert Ritchie - in July 2006, but on November 27, 2006, Pamela filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.

Jenny McCarthy believed she would host 'The View' for another 20 years.
The former Playboy model, 41, was axed from the ABC talk show last month, after less than a year on the panel, but she predicted prior to her dismissal that she had at least another two decades left on the programme.
When asked by New You magazine in May where she thinks she will be in 20 years, she said: "Believe it or not, I think I [will still be] on 'The View'. I love the show. I'm doing so much work to improve myself, signing up for critical thinking courses and doing all my media training.
"When I'm 60 I want to still have a face that moves. I want to have beautiful, healthy grandkids and still have Donnie [Wahlberg] be the hunky love of my life."
The blonde beauty believes she's found stability in her life since meeting the New Kids on the Block singer - who proposed to her in April - and she feels their relationship is strong because they treat each other equally.
She explained: "Things were always unbalanced in my previous relationships. I've either been a teacher or a student. With Donnie, we're just equal. I have my own identity and goals and he has his, yet we're so similar we work on them together."

The former 'Jersey Shore' beauty reportedly organised a second party for her ex co-star to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her baby daughter, according to RadarOnline.
Snooki - whose real name is Nicole Polizzi - arranged for their mutual friends to gather at a home in New Jersey to shower the mother-to-be with lavish gifts, before the pair were seen leaving the property with balloons and bags.
JWoww - whose real name is Jenni Farley - previously hosted a party in May, which involved drag queens and alcoholic beverages for the non-pregnant guests.
The 28-year-old star is set to welcome the tiny tot into the world with her fiancé Roger Matthews later this month, but her pregnancy has been a on-going battle as she was suffering from sciatica - a condition that causes pain to radiate down the spine, hips and bottom - but she refused to take pain killers to curb the discomfort.
She said previously of her unborn daughter: "She's perfect and because of that I'll take all the back pain in the world! I can't wait to meet her in a few weeks!"
Meanwhile, Snooki, 26 - who already has 22-month-old son Lorenzo with her fiancé Jionni LaValle - will also welcome a baby daughter in two months time and admits she and JWoww will be raising their children together and hopes they will see one another as family.
She said: "Me and Jenni see each other almost every single day. I just feel like our kids are bound to be best friends and hang out all the time. They're going to grow up and be like cousins. They'll like each other, I hope."

Khloé Kardashian feels like she's "been pregnant for six years."
The 30-year-old reality TV star, who filed for divorce from her estranged husband Lamar Odom in December - believes people have been claiming she's expecting her first child for over half a decade and she admits, at first, she struggled to deal with the false baby rumours.
Speaking to PEOPLE.com, she said: "I feel like I've been pregnant for six years!
"I used to get offended, like, 'Do I look fat today?' or 'Why are they saying that?' But they just say it. Before I was like, 'Do I have a baby bump? Is my belly sticking out?' But no, I mean, one day the rumour will be true, I hope, but who knows? Until then, it is what it is."
The brunette beauty - whose sisters Kim and Kourtney both have children of their own - has spoken publicly about her struggles to fall pregnant in the past, but still dreams of becoming a mother one day.
