Lana Del Rey claims her ex-boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill is "unwell."
The 'Summertime Sadness' hitmaker, who split from the Scottish musician in June after three years together, admits they were not a good match, as their relationship was "very rewarding, but very difficult."
Reflecting on their time together, the 29-year-old star told the September issue of Fashion magazine: "It's been a tenuous and tumultuous three years ... It was very rewarding, but very difficult.
"Trying to get consistency and normality within the dynamic of that relationship has been impossible. He's unwell and I'm unwell in some ways, and psychologically we've been through a lot together."
Lana, who has since moved on with Vogue photographer Francesco Carrozzini, hopes to settle down in the future.
She said: "I would love to find someone I could share my life with and be married to. I would love children, too. Hopefully they're not as bad as I am."
Shortly after she announced her split from Barrie, who reportedly proposed on her birthday in June 2013, he insisted they were still together.
In late June, he said: "It's not over. It's not over. Don't believe what you read, it's not over. It's just stories, bedtime stories."
Lana also initially hinted they might get back together in the future.
She said: "We are currently not together. He is a wonderful person. But there are some things with which he has to deal. I will not explain it in detail. This was hard on our relationship, I no longer felt free. We'll see how it goes."

Ryan Seacrest's friends are allegedly worried his girlfriend might be a "gold digger."
The 'American Idol' host, 39, started dating 24-year-old fitness trainer Shayna Taylor last summer, but his close pals reportedly think she is only using him for his connections and fortune.
A source told the National Enquirer: "His buddies are urging him to take his time."
Shortly after she was photographed holidaying with Ryan, who split from 'Safe Haven' actress Julianne Hough in April 2013 after three years of dating, in Uruguay and Argentina last July, Shayna landed a modelling contract with Wilhelmina Models, and now hopes to carve out a career as a fitness guru in Los Angeles.
The insider said: "Shayna is already posting healthy recipes and diets to her Instagram page, but she'd like to get deals for a cookbook and fitness training book, and maybe even her own website.
"Ryan needs to look before he leaps."
Meanwhile, Ryan's mother Connie is said to be desperate for him to settle down and start a family.
The source said: "Connie wants her only son to give her a grandchild in the worst way."

Kerry Katona's fiancé was hospitalised under the Mental Health Act on Wednesday evening (30.07.14).
George Kay was reportedly sectioned at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for his own welfare after a female motorist called the police when she spotted the former rugby league player "running in and out of cars" in an agitated manner, screaming that someone was trying to kill him.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police told The Sun newspaper: "Thames Valley Police can confirm that officers were called to a road in Chinnor shortly after 6pm following concerns for the welfare of a man.
"A 34-year-old man was detained at the scene and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was detained under the Mental Health Act. He was later discharged."
The Atomic Kitten singer, 33, declined to comment, but a neighbour, who asked not to be named, told the MailOnline: "It looked like he had been taking something like cocaine or ecstasy I think. He was behaving very strangely - actually it was quite frightening.
"A woman who was driving down the road was so upset by what he was doing that she stopped and dialled 999 for the police. It all happened at about 6pm on Wednesday evening and the police were here very quickly. It took quite a few of them to restrain him."
She added: "Then an ambulance arrived and the policemen climbed into the back with their prisoner and off they went. It was quite an unusual spectacle."
Kerry, who recently gave birth to her first child, Dylan-Jorge, with George and has four other children from previous marriages, gushed about her fiancé earlier this week, saying she had finally found the "right man."
She said: "I know this time I'm marrying the right guy and I won't be doing it for the wrong reasons. I can't wait to be Mrs Kay.
"We've been together for two years but we feel like we've been together for ten. We've been through so much, but this time it's right."

Zoe Saldana claims she is a "bad influence" on her sisters, Mariel and Cisley.
The 36-year-old actress, who is reportedly expecting twins with husband Marco Perego, admits she has "almost 10" hidden tattoos on her body and is also responsible for many of her family members' inkings.
She said: "I am very proud to say I have assisted many friends and family, my sisters, to get tattoos. I get them drunk, I wine and dine them, I take them to the tattoo parlor, they come out with tattoos. The next day they're like, 'What the hell happened?!'
"I can convince you of getting a tattoo in the worst place possible. I am very convincing. That's why I've always been sort of the bad influence out of all the girls in my family."
Despite having no visible tattoos, the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star also told David Letterman on his late night chat show that her love of body art might not be a secret for much longer.
She said: "I'm running out of private places to put them on.
"My grandmother says that I look like a newspaper naked."
Shortly after she married Marco last year, he unveiled a portrait of her face on his forearm, but he also has an impressive collection of body art.
She said: "My husband has more. His are more exposed."

Ne-Yo is suing his former accountant for $8 million.
The 'Closer' hitmaker, real name Shaffer Smith, has filed a new lawsuit against his one-time "manager, confidant, trusted adviser and friend" Kevin Foster in Manhattan's Federal Court in New York City, claiming he swindled him out of $4.5 million.
In court documents, obtained by the New York Daily News, the 31-year-old star says he agreed to let the accounting company Foster was working for handle all of his "business management and accounting needs," ensuring he "was financially situated as to maintain his accustomed lifestyle for the remainder of his life," after they were first introduced in 2005.
Foster subsequently left the firm to start his own company and Ne-Yo accompanied him, as they had "developed a personal relationship, with Smith eventually placing complete trust in Foster's handling Smith and his companies' finances and affairs."
But the 'Sexy Love' singer claims he later discovered that Foster had moved some of his money without his permission and when he hired another accountancy firm, they "uncovered instances of Foster engaging in self-dealing and inappropriate conduct," which allegedly included forging Ne-Yo's name on loan documents and investing the star's money into a struggling water company, without telling him that he was the president and CFO of the venture.
The Grammy Award-winning singer is seeking the return of the $4.5 million, in addition to the $3.5 million fees he paid Foster since 2005.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie exchanged romantic love letters when they were forced to be apart last year.
The 39-year-old actress, who has six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and five-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, with her 50-year-old fiancé, says he was very supportive when she spent three months directing her upcoming biopic, 'Unbroken,' about World War II hero Louis Zamperini, in Australia, even though he was filming his upcoming film, 'Fury,' in London at the same time.
The brunette beauty told Australia's TV Week magazine: "He was supportive from a distance, and it was quite romantic in a way.
"We decided to be of that time, when we could imagine he was in the European theatre and I was in the Pacific theatre, and we wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months, if not years, at a time back then."
The 'Maleficent' actress recently admitted she plans to take on less work in front of the camera in the future, so she can focus on her family and her humanitarian work.
She said: "I'm not retiring completely, but I'm going to focus more on my writing, directing and my humanitarian work, so I will do less films and hopefully that will also make it possible to be very selective and do a few I feel really compelled to do. But I will be doing much less."

Conan O'Brien refuses to follow celebrities on Twitter.
The 51-year-old talk show host randomly selected one person to follow in 2010 - fan Sarah Killen - and has yet to add to his list, often refusing celebrity pals who ask him to connect on the social networking site.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I've had so many celebrities [ask] ... I ran into Slash a couple of years ago and Slash said, 'Hey man, follow me on Twitter!' and I said, 'No, I only follow one person.' And he's like, 'Who?', and I said, 'Sarah Killen', and he's like, 'Who's that?' and I go, 'She lives in Michigan.'
"I've had people that want me to follow, like Slash. They say, 'Will you follow me?' and I say, 'Can't do it. I'm committed to one person.' "
Conan changed the life of his lucky fan, who became a viral sensation and even had companies vying to pay for her wedding due to her internet infamy.
The irreverent star said: "When I met her she was single but now she's got kids, her whole life has changed since I met her. But I loved her, she was very straight-forward ... she was the perfect person to choose."
The 'Conan' host recently joined Tinder in a skit for his show, which also featured hunky actor Dave Franco, and he admits he is "fascinated" by the mobile phone app which allows users to find potential love matches based on common interests.
He said: "All my staff was on Tinder, so I had to find out what this is all about so I did that remote [skit] with Dave Franco. I was just fascinated by it - it's a new world. I don't know how I would have dealt with that if I was in my twenties, I wouldn't have had the nerve to put myself out there like that."
Conan's talk show is set to launch in the UK next week and it seems there's plenty of action behind-the-scenes as well as on camera.
Talking about his staff's Tinder habits, he quipped: "I think, yes, it is a big orgy, my show - you should get that out there, 'Come visit the set of Conan in Los Angeles because it is a non-stop orgy.' I'm not part of it because of my own inadequacies, but that's what it's like backstage."
Catch 'Conan' on new free to air channel truTV (11pm Monday-Thursday from 4th August) - channel number 68, the home of larger-than-life characters in real situations.

Drew Barrymore's half-brother doesn't believe their half-sister committed suicide.
Jessica Barrymore was found dead in her car by a neighbour on Tuesday (29.07.14) with pills reportedly scattered around her but John Barrymore - who shared a father, late actor John Drew Barrymore, with his half-siblings - thinks she took an accidental overdose, rather than deliberately taking her own life, comparing the tragedy to the death of Heath Ledger, who overdosed on prescription medication in 2008.
He told the New York Daily News newspaper: "It looks like it was a drug misadventure. Mixing alcohol and pills. I seriously doubt she took her own life.
"There were some empty vodka bottles, a couple bags of meth and a variety of pills in the car. My guess is that it was the booze and pills, like with Heath Ledger.
"She visited her mom the day before, and her mom is almost gone. It was hard for her to see her. I doubt she tried to kill herself, though . . . I predict it will be that -- mixing booze and pills and taking too many.
"I'm going to miss Jessica. She was a kindred spirit. She knew laughing is what saves us all."
John admitted the half-siblings barely knew one another and had met together only once to scatter their father's ashes.
Following the news of Jessica's death, 39-year-old Drew - who has two daughters, Olive, 22 months, and Frankie, three months, with her husband, Will Kopelman - paid tribute to her older half-sibling.
She said in a statement:"Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I'm so incredibly sorry for their loss."
