Charlie Hunnam almost lost a "six-figure deposit" on his dream house.
The 34-year-old actor admits he had "a nervous breakdown" after dropping out of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and it made him question everything in his life, including his plans to buy a huge ranch.
The 'Sons of Anarchy' star said: "I absolutely just lost my mind last year. I had some big personal stuff going in my life, and I think it just threw me off balance and I decided I was gonna buy a ranch, I was gonna take 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and every other movie that I got offered all at the same time, and then I had something of a nervous breakdown and had to pull out of all of it."
He added: "So I didn't end up buying that ranch. Literally, I had an hour until my, like, six-figure deposit was no longer refundable. When I say I pulled out at the 11th hour, I really did. That sucks. That sucks for everyone involved."
Charlie says it was "very painful" to let director Sam Taylor-Johnson down by backing out of her upcoming adaptation of the best-selling novel.
He told Entertainment Weekly: "I really was just so sad for Sam the director, because I absolutely adore her, and I gave her my word and committed to going on this journey with her.
"It's been many years that I've been in this business. All of a sudden, I'm getting all of these wonderful people approaching me and asking me to work with them. It's very hard to say no when you love and respect people. I just kind of made a bit of a rookie mistake in that one in biting off more than I could chew."

Keanu Reeves has obtained a restraining order against a female fan.
The unnamed woman, who was arrested after she broke into his home in Los Angeles and went skinny dipping in his swimming pool last month, has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the 'Matrix' actor and his property at all times after he told a judge he feels threatened by her and believes she will continue stalking him.
But a law enforcement source told gossip website TMZ.com that she may not understand or follow the protection order, as she is currently seeking psychiatric treatment in hospital.
The woman - who entered the star's home through an unlocked door and took a shower in his bathroom - believes the 50-year-old actor is a "conduit" to her father, whom she claims was abducted by the US government and placed in witness protection.
She also believes her father is 'Departed' actor Ray Winstone.
Keanu wasn't at home at the time of the incident, but a cleaning crew working at the property got suspicious of the woman's behaviour and contacted the actor, who called police.
Another female intruder broke into his home just one day before the incident and he called the police after finding her sitting in a chair at around 4am.

Kim Kardashian West has laughed off rumours she forgot her daughter in a hotel.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star insists she didn't accidentally leave baby North, 15 months, behind after checking out of Le Royal Monceau in Paris on Wednesday (01.10.14), despite being photographed returning from her car to collect the tot in the foyer of the luxurious hotel before driving to the airport to catch a flight back to Los Angeles.
The 33-year-old beauty defended herself on Twitter today (03.10.14), writing: "Heard on the radio today some story I forgot my daughter at our hotel as I'm leaving for the airport. Are you kidding me?!?!?! LOL (sic)."
The brunette beauty, who is married to Kanye West, claims she only left the hotel without their little girl to make sure her car seat was installed correctly.
She explained: "I went to the car to make sure the car seat was in because the day before we had a car seat issue."
She added: "Do u guys really think a 1year old would be inside the lobby by herself. Oh wait she was waiting to check out lol (sic)."
Kim recently confirmed she is "trying" to get pregnant again.
She said: "We're trying ... I guess it's, like, all in God's hands."
She added: "[Motherhood] has changed me so much.
"Just everything has been put into perspective and nothing really matters more than spending time with your family and only doing the things that are really important to you."

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have jetted to the Seychelles for their honeymoon.
The newlyweds, who got married in Venice, Italy last weekend, are reportedly staying at the luxurious resort on the North Island, which can only be accessed by helicopter.
A source close to the 53-year-old actor told gossip website X17Online.com that he secretly organised their romantic trip to the remote Indian Ocean paradise after his good friend Brad Pitt recommended it.
The insider said: "George and Amal were looking for the ultimate, private getaway and I believe it was Brad who told him to go to this resort.
"It's one of the most beautiful places on earth and George wanted to show Amal something even more amazing than Venice.
"It was the only place that could top off such an elaborate wedding."
The eco-friendly tropical haven, developed in 2003, is comprised of 11 villas with private plunge pools, and has four beaches, one of which is fittingly called Honeymoon Cove.
Prince William and Duchess Catherine also spent their honeymoon there in 2011, while Brad and his wife, Angelina Jolie, have holidayed there in the past.

Robert Downey Jr. thinks good hygiene is the key to a happy marriage.
The 'Judge' star has been married to film producer Susan Downey, who is due to give birth to their second child next month, for nine years and he thinks his wife appreciates his love of showering.
The 49-year-old star said: "This is one of the keys to our relationship. I am so clean you could eat off of me. I think women appreciate that."
But Susan, who has son Exton, two, with the actor and is expecting a baby girl, believes the secret to their successful relationship is knowing when to give each other time and space.
The 40-year-old beauty told PEOPLE.com: "It's also about knowing when your partner needs a little 'me' time.
"That's key in any relationship. Whether you're working together all of the time or not, you always have to give each other space and kind of read it. "
She added: "He's a little bit of a slower start in the morning than I am. So I have to make sure that there's enough coffee in his system before I start throwing questions his way."
Robert also admits he is mesmerised by Susan, 40, when she dances.
He said: "She dances. So when she gets her dance time on the dance floor with the other girls ... It isn't Jazzercise, it's real dance! When Mommy is done dancing, the world is a better place."

Kris Jenner says she "definitely" wants to fall in love again.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, who filed for divorce from her husband of 23 years, Bruce Jenner, last month following their split last October, admits it would be "amazing" for her to find a new boyfriend.
The 58-year-old manager said: "I want to definitely be in love, I like being in love, I think there's no better feeling in the world. So yeah, I mean that would be amazing."
Following her split from Olympic gold medallist Bruce, 64, Kris was linked to former 'The Bachelor' star Ben Flajnik, 32.
They were frequently spotted on lunch and dinner dates, as well as attending Kris' son-in-law Kanye West's concert in Los Angeles, but a source later claimed the wine maker was "using her" in a bid to score his own reality TV series and their friendship seems to have fizzled out in recent months.

Amber Rose has sparked rumours she is dating Gene Simmons' son.
The 30-year-old model, who recently filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa after 14 months of marriage amid allegations he cheated on her with twins, was reportedly spotted "dirty dancing" with Nick Simmons, 25, at the Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood on Thursday night (02.10.14).
In addition to grinding up against the actor, she also caressed his face at one point, according to video footage obtained by gossip website TMZ.com.
The duo were later photographed leaving the club arm-in-arm alongside a group of friends.
The blonde beauty recently insisted she is "devastated" after splitting from 'We Dem Boyz' rapper Wiz, 27, with whom she has 19-month-old son Sebastian, and slammed rumours that she had cheated on him.

Nick Cannon has covered up the Mariah Carey tattoo on his back.
The 'America's Got Talent' presenter, who recently announced he and the '#Beautiful' hitmaker secretly separated a few months ago, got his estranged wife's first name inked across his shoulders in large letters shortly before they tied the knot in 2008, but recently had it transformed it into an elaborate tattoo of Jesus Christ.
Nick, who has three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with the 44-year-old singer, debuted his new artwork as he celebrated his upcoming 34th birthday on October 8 with friends, including Amber Rose, at the Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood on Thursday night (02.10.14).
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that his new tattoo shows Jesus Christ on the cross with angel wings coming off the end the crucifix.
It is not yet known whether Mariah, who got 'Mrs. Cannon' inked on her back before their wedding, plans to change or remove her tattoo.
Nick announced his split from the blonde beauty in August, saying: "There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is my kids."
Friends of the couple previously revealed cracks started to appear in the pair's relationship when Nick admitted during a radio interview in March that he had slept with five famous women, including Kim Kardashian, before meeting Mariah.

The 26-year-old actress, who is Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's oldest daughter, admits she was shocked, but very proud of Scout Willis, 23, for posting several photographs of herself wearing just a skirt and sandals on the streets of Manhattan on Twitter in May to protest Instagram's nudity policy after her account was suspended.
The 'There's Always Woodstock' star said: "She didn't tell me she was doing it beforehand. But my sister Scout is very gutsy. She's probably one of the most brave and outspoken people that I know. I commend her for finding something and taking a stand."
She also told Elle.com: "I like that my sister did that [because] you have to be accepting of who you are and what you have going on."
Scout told her followers at the time that she was boycotting the photo-sharing site after it removed one of her photos - of a sweatshirt she designed, The Babe Bomber, featuring two topless women - for violating its community guidelines.

The actor was also previously said to have been "mortified" after he saw pictures of Rumer showing a lot of skin at a red carpet event.
Another insider said: "Bruce was mortified. As every knows, he's actually a very conservative guy and doesn't like to see his daughter parading around in next to nothing."
