Reeva Steenkamp's parents have refused Oscar Pistorius' blood money.
The Olympic and Paralympic athlete is currently being sentenced after being found guilty of culpable homicide last month for the shooting of his girlfriend and it is has now emerged he's been making secret payments to her parents.
June and Barry Steenkamp have been receiving monthly payments of 6,000 South African rand, the equivalent of £341, since Reeva's tragic death but have turned down a lump sum of 375,000 rand (£21,299) as "blood money" and have vowed to return "every cent" they've accepted so far.
Pistorius was cleared of 29-year-old Reeva's murder last month but convicted of culpable homicide, after shooting her four times through a locked bathroom door at his home, claiming he'd mistaken her for an intruder.
And on Tuesday (14.10.14) during his sentencing, prosecutor Gerrie Nel presented a report that revealed he had been making monthly payments to his late girlfriends parents.
According to The Guardian newspaper she said to the court: "Those monies will be paid back to the accused in full, every cent."
Referring to the 375,000 rand he'd transferred into the trust account of June's lawyer, Nel added: "She rejects that, she doesn't want blood money."
Explaining the payments made to the Steenkamps, their lawyer, Dup de Bruyn, claimed they began a month after the death of their daughter in March 2013.
He said: "When Reeva passed away, they were in financial straits. I conveyed this to Mr. Pistorius' lawyer. He came back with an offer of 6,000 a month for 18 months. When he started paying, we thought it fair to make that public, but the request was from Oscar through his lawyers to keep it confidential. We honoured that request."

A shrine has been erected in honour of Harry Styles' vomit.
Fans of the 'Kiss You' hitmaker have put up a heartfelt banner on the side of a busy Los Angeles freeway after the 20-year-old singer was forced to pull over and throw up there following a night of heavy partying, The Sun newspaper reports.
Harry - who had been enjoying a night out with fellow singer Lily Allen at an LA bar - asked his driver to pull over on the hard shoulder and was spotted, pale-faced and puking at the side of the road on Sunday morning (12.10.14).
Following the incident, super-fans quickly arrived at the vomit spot and put up a sign reading: "Harry Styles threw-up here 10-12-14."
It isn't the first time the 'Steal My Girl' singer has thrown up in public.
The One Direction heartthrob also vomited on stage in Pittsburgh in July last year, although he claimed he had simply eaten too much prior to the show.
Luckily, Harry was able to control his queasiness as he helped a fan propose to his girlfriend at their Atlanta gig earlier this month.
Bradley Chisenhall messaged him and his bandmates - Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik - on Twitter asking them to help him pop the question to Christine Kozlowski at the performance on October 1.
The plea for help was even trending on the site with the hashtag '#1Dproposal' after he tweeted: "Help me propose to my girlfriend tomorrow night at the show."
Much to Bradley's surprise, his tweet didn't go unnoticed as mid-way through the show, Harry said to the audience: "'I have a friend in the audience who's called Bradley ... Bradley would you like to bring your girlfriend on the stage?"
The camera then panned to Bradley, who was down on one knee, as he asked his lover to marry him.
The venue was filled with shrieks of excitement and lots of clapping as Harry shouted: "She said yes!"

Amal Clooney has splashed out $3,700 on post-wedding gifts for her new husband.
The 36-year-old lawyer has treated her new beau George Clooney to 12 handmade $100 cocktail glasses from Venice - where they enjoyed a long weekend celebrating their nuptials after tying the knot there last month - and a 12-piece set of matching silk napkins complete with napkin holders for $2,500.
A source said: "Amal loves the idea of them having the same cocktail glasses that they use at the Cipriani Hotel in Venice.
"George admired them every time he looked at them during the wedding celebrations and they didn't have time to go shopping in Venice, so she's ordered them in as a post-wedding gift for him."
Amal is planning to put the colourful tumblers at their new £10 million marital home, in the small village of Sonning Eye, Oxfordshire, central England.
The source added to E!: "It means that every time they curl up with a cocktail at home they'll think of their wedding and be reminded of all the happy memories."
Amal - who revealed she had taken George's surname, replacing her moniker Alamuddin, on her law firm Doughty Street Chambers' website earlier this week - is currently in Greece, where she is advising the country's government on getting Britain to return the Elgin Marbles.
The cocktail glasses and napkins are not the only present Amal has gifted George following their nuptials as she recently purchased two pooches for the 53-year-old actor.
The barrister forked out on two cocker spaniels and customised cufflinks inscribed with his first name in Arabic ahead of their wedding.

Una Foden is craving pickles.
The Saturdays singer is expecting her second child - a boy - with husband Ben Foden and says her food preferences are very different to when she was carrying daughter Aoife, now two.
She said: "Ben had fish and chips for lunch today and my sense of smell is so heightened I knew as soon as I got near him.
"With Aoife, I was mad for chocolate, but this time around I'm more for savoury stuff and spicy foods. And pickles. I'm loving pickles."
The couple have already started discussing names for their new arrival, but Una has been vetoing most of her spouse's suggestions.
Ben said: "Una actually said I could choose the name but she keeps shooting down all my suggestions."
Una interrupted: "Well, are you surprised when you're coming up with names like Huckleberry? I mean, come on, Huck Foden?"
The couple want to keep their name choice a secret until the baby is born - but Aoife may not make that so easy.
Una added to HELLO! magazine: "The other day someone asked Aoife if she was excited about the baby and she pointed to my tummy and blurted out this name we've been considering.
"We're keeping it quiet because you become a little bit precious when you find a name you both like in case people put you off it or you change your minds."

Kristen Stewart says her childhood dream was "shattered" when she was 11.
The 'Camp X-Ray' star claims she always wanted to work behind the scenes in Hollywood like her parents, who were "hardworking crew members," and she only decided to start auditioning for acting roles as she was "too small" to do anything else.
In 'The Art of Discovery,' a book of celebrity portraits by photographer Jeff Vespa benefiting the Creative Coalition, the 24-year-old actress said: "I wanted to come home with hundreds of stories and plates of food nicked from craft services, looking like I had just been through absolute hell.
"I thought what they [my parents] did for a living was awesome."
The brunette beauty quickly realised she was "too small to be a grip like my brothers were, so, I figured I'd act."
She added: "It was my only option. The problem was getting a job. I was eight years old, and wasn't very actor-y."
Kristen landed her first big role in 'The Safety of Objects' in 2001 after a year of auditioning, but while her original dream was "shattered," she admits she is now living "beyond my wildest dreams."
She said: "I thought, 'Wow this isn't just a cool job like my parents have, this is who I am. That was the day my dream of being a grip or a script supervisor shattered, and my life opened beyond my wildest dreams."

Amy Poehler doesn't think her marriage to ex-husband Will Arnett was a failure.
The 'Parks & Recreation' star split from the 'Arrested Development' actor, with whom she has two sons, Archie, six, and Abel, four, in September 2013 after nine years of marriage, but is "proud" of how they've managed to put their differences aside to successfully co-parent their children.
In her new autobiography, 'Yes Please,' the 43-year-old actress writes: "Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air.
"The process of divorce is about loading up that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands.
"Getting a divorce really sucks."
The former 'Saturday Night Live' star, who is now in a relationship with comedian Nick Kroll, 36, admits it is still "too sad" and "too personal" for her to share the reasons behind her divorce, but credits her close friend Louis CK for helping her to through it.
She added: "I am proud of how my ex-husband, Will, and I have been taking care of our children. I am beyond grateful he is their father; and I don't think a ten-year marriage constitutes failure."
